Prairiebreeze’s Vegas Cannonball (Hit and) Run V Part 1 – June 7-11, 2026

Welcome to Prairiebreeze’s Vegas Cannonball (Hit and) Run V

Exactly 6 months to the day after Cannonball Run IV, we are BACK BABY with Cannonball Run FIVE – Part One. Part One you ask? Yes, because Part 2 is already booked for December 6-10, 2026.

Recap of last trip – December 2025 - exactly 6 months ago:
• Pre-trip: Had less trouble getting cash out of the bank – but now we have the procedure. Faded a pre-trip injury.
• Venetian: Hit our first royal flush (QJss) on the turn less than two hours after getting off the plane. Got the minimum in every way possible. Lost money overall at that property. We scooped one bomb pot, and got one outed to get scooped in another. But my buddy finished 11th in a bounty event he was playing there (and lost money!).
• Aria: uneventful one buy in win. LONG walk home where I took every wrong turn imaginable.
• Bellagio: took a small 2/5 shot. Played with Mason Malmuth. Was otherwise “meh” as usual.
• Played our first senior’s event at Planet Hollywood (RIP PH poker room), got AA cracked by 66 AIPF. Played cash games there too and they were dead. No wonder that room closed.
• Dogs were everywhere… none of them with legit “service animal” tags, but if casinos let them, then okey dokey.
• Coronas were consumed. Many, many Coronas. And I’m not normally a drinker, at all, but free beer is free beer no matter where you are.
• Slots (other than Venetian’s who reamed me for $1k) & craps (Harrah’s & Horsehsoe Stadium) saved our trip.
• Total Profit for the trip: $30. Yup. 30 bucks.

Starting Bankroll: $6,030 planned. Yes, the $30 profit is in that number and damnit we are spinning it up!

Home bases for this trip: Buddy from the last trip is staying at Planet Hollywood this time. As for me: Flamingo has been kind/desperate enough to comp me another room for 4 nights, so we’ll actually HAVE a view of something this time around, which is nice, but whatever – we ain’t here for the views, people watching aside. My buddy mocks me for “slumming it up” there, but I kinda dig the place a bit. And they’ve been remodeling the lobby area – and it looks pretty nice now based on what I’ve seen and being that center means less walking in 100+ degree heat, which for a Canadian who lives in -40 weather for at least 3 weeks every February… is 100% worth it.

Agenda:
Sunday, June 7 – travel day: Frist flight is at 7am MT, so leaving the house at 5am, clear customs in Calgary during a 2 hour 45 minute stop over, a 2 hour 30 minute flight means we land at about 1pm. We’ve booked a window seat to at least TRY to get a nap in.
Option A: Max late reg Event 25 at the WSOP – a $500 freezeout to try and grab a Hendon Mob entry. Have to do the WSOP+ app verification stuff first though, but we have tons of time. Registration ends at level 10 (4pm), and the money bubble burst in level 17 last year (they were about 100 off the money at dinner). With 30 minute levels, 3.5 hours of play and a 75 minute dinner break means we could get into the money in under 5 hours.
Option B: Degen it up with some video poker at Cosmo (channelling the mighty Leon). Hear me out. I haven’t stayed at an MGM property in 3 years, and I’ve barely played anything other than poker at Aria and Bellagio otherwise, but for my December trip I’m being offered Aria at $35/night + RF and Park at $8/night + RF. I can do one day of play there (they have the best paytables on the Strip by far) and it should give me some options for the next stay in December. Taking this option probably means I can play a 1/3 session somewhere nearby in the evening – Aria (hello PLO???) and Bellagio would be the most likely candidates. WSOP Cash games as well.

Monday, June 8 – Depending on what option we choose for Sunday, I have some work to do with Caesar’s. There’s a Reward Credit Multiplier at Caesar’s properties while I’m there. June 8-14, if I speedrun 5+ properties in a day, getting 50 tier credits at each property, I get that multiplier of reward credits for my entire trip. Plan is to do this to offset meals and resort fees. Room is already comped.
Planned Path: Harrah’s → LINQ → Flamingo → Vanderpump → Horseshoe → Paris → Planet Hollywood
7 properties, all on the same side of the street, 7x reward credits. Value. And can do it all in a morning if we work it right.
Purpose of this run; Stack up the reward credits to offset the costs of food and resort fees on this trip. Daytime poker games are just NEVER ever good – even during the series. Bigger picture, I *might* try a run at Diamond over two trips if we can hit some TC milestones for bonuses. See how June goes, what offers for December roll in, and maybe we take a run at it.
Nighttime poker session: Wynn, Venetian are certainly options.

Tuesday, June 9 – Mixed Game Festival Day. Mixed games will never be offered where I live, and it looks like a pretty relaxed event, and the lowest limits are 4/8, so if we torch a few hundred having some fun learning some games, that sounds good to me. It’s also Meet Mori Eskandani Day, so that’d be neat.
Nighttime poker session: South Point? I keep hearing how I should go from people in my local game, and there’s no real reason not to, I guess.

Wednesday, June 10 – Caesar’s Degen Day – video poker, craps, slots are all on the table. All up and down the strip. Start with cheap breakfast at Planet Hollywood and run north from there.
Nighttime poker session: Probably whichever of Wynn and Venetian that I don’t play on Monday.

Thursday, June 11 – we will see, settle the hotel bill, use up all these reward credits, travel home - flight out is at 1:45pm

Main goals:
Do all the things that I can’t do at my home casino: Video Poker, Craps, bigger and different poker games (but not both at the same time!), PLO!
Stadium Craps at Horseshoe – we ALWAYS win there. Always.
Register for cash games online where possible (Atlas: Wynn & Venetian. Bravo: Caesar’s, Horseshoe, South Point)
Limit sessions to 4 hours. Less if the game is bad. Table changes! The 4-hour thing is working for me locally. Still bad games though, BUT there are so few tables (four) in the casino poker “area” that there’s zero selection.
Take vitamin C & D in bunches early and often. All trip long. Air is super dry and I seem to get sore throats and feel crappy by Day 3-4.
Nice dinners. Or at least one nice one.
Oh, and get a hundo down on the Bengals to win the Super Bowl if they’re still +2500 or more.

And if you’re going to be in town when I’m there, let’s grab a beer/bite/table! Message me.

Looks like a good itinerary, and nothing wrong with the Flamingo. Good luck and might see you there.

LFG!

I also enjoy the Flamingo. Never really understood the snobbery towards the CET properties over there like LINQ, Flamingo, and Harrah's. They aren't as nice as something like Bellagio or Wynn, but they're perfectly functional and everything you need is within short walking distance. I'll be staying at the bird for a couple nights this summer too.

As for your 6/7 options, if you've never done the WSOP before then it would be fun to go and play an event. The 30 minute two day lotteries are my least favorite species of WSOP tournament, but there's value in the fields and ridiculous multipliers at the end if you happen to catch the ultimate heater. It will be an experience either way.

I want to hear more about this mixed festival. Where will that be running and which hours? I went to the one at RW in 2023 and has some fun. They played some very wacky games, but I enjoyed myself more than another robotic NLHE session.

I've played 2 WSOP events - an 800 in 2022 and a 600 in 2023. Was cool to do, but those were rebuys and this one would be a freezeout. They're in prior TRs. 2022 I busted with Ace King Suited against queens. 2023 highlight was 3 of us getting it all in pre with Ace King suited and chopping. I busted with QQ vs TT and AA when no one improved.

Mixed Festival is at Bellagio - runs Sunday-Thursday for 2 weeks. More info:

My buddy likes Harrah's the way I like Flamingo when he can't get into places like PH.

Looking forward to reading all about it. Should be fun. Maybe we'll cross over into each other's trip reports if we find a time to meet up.

I experienced this a lot last trip. There were three turds deposited on the casino floor 6 feet apart. Apparently the owner dragged the poor dog along as it was pooping, and then the pig of a human didn't clean it up.

Stadium Craps at Horseshoe – we ALWAYS win there. Always.

They seem to have multiple varieties now. One is where there's a mini-table and a player throws dice. A camera picks it up and shows it on a screen. There are several betting stations around the table. Then I think there's another one with bubble craps and stadium-type betting stations around. Then there are 2 or 3 different bubble craps machines for solo play. One is just called "Craps", another one called "Easy Craps", and then also "Crapless craps". No idea what the differences are other than crapless is supposed to have worse rules for the players.

edit: oops, add for Hendon Mob info, if you really want an entry, see if Wynn will still be running their $160/$200 dailies. Probably a lot easier than a WSOP event, not to mention cheaper. They'll put in an entry if you cash. Good structures

Looks like a jam packed slate!

The mini table version is the one we like. We had solid wins in December and my buddy was there a couple weeks ago (he informed me of his trip by send me a pic of him seated at a station) and won a couple grand. He spun it up good on a 30+ roll.

In for a prairiebreeze TR! Safe travels, looking forward to stories of rungood!

Since you are a Canadian, don't kidnap any Flamingos!! You will become an internet sensation though ; )

That guy was such an idiot. I hope they throw the book at his ass.

Would much rather become 2p2 famous for drilling a machine for 100k. Or winning a bracelet.

Why not both?

hope to see you on the 10th

Stayed at The Flamingo earlier this year on a bizness trip, I had zero issues with it and it's nice and central, second time I've stayed at it, but pretty much any hotel in the middle of the action is fine with me / I am not a hotel snob.

Only dog I actually recall seeing on the last trip was RTP's Willie when I briefly saw them entering a breakfast place.

Ggogogo!,imoG

What fresh hell is this, this morning?

Was 29C three days ago. Zero this morning.

22 days.

WTF? Snow in May - you guys in Alberta get the craziest weather! We are about to get the heat you got 3 days ago here in Ontario :p

Man, when I was in Vegas last week it was in the 90's, American.

What a difference 9 days makes.

Daytime highs here for the rest of may range between 85-95F.

Some song lyrics I heard today... 13 days to go... I'm fired up and ready to get on that plane!

Why should we wait for some better time
There may not even be a tomorrow
Ain't no sense in losing your mind
I'm gonna make it worth the ride

Ignore the hesitation, that ties your hands
Use your imagination, and take a chance
I won't let my moment of truth pass me by
I've gotta make my move now or never
And if they turn me loose on this town
They're gonna have to hold me down

So I’ve lost 4 of my last 5 sessions. One more before the trip. But mostly just folding and losing flips interspersed in there.

Getting all that crap out of the way ahead of time. Save that run good for when it matters most!

Nice! I'm in! Our dates overlap, and I do play mixed games so I might see ya out there!

Just got the call from the bank that my USS cash order is in… and the excitement is building!

And the Knights are in the SCF… a potential game 3 while I’m in town? Hmmmmmm….

Go if you can. I went when they won it in 2023. So much fun

If the Hurricanes are in the Stanley Cup Finals in Las Vegas, I’d totally go to a game with ya!

Is the schedule out yet for the finals? Would love to go if I’m not in a tournament. Might be a hard ticket to get though?
