My experience where I play -- the Oaks, in the Bay Area -- is that a lot of the whales and VIPs also are in Las Vegas for the series, and that the games slow down.

What bets/odds would you currently take on the election? I live in a dumb red state full of people who would probably take terrible bets. I think you last said (maybe 1 year ago) you have bets more or less saying "Trump will not be president 2024" at even money. Would you still take that bet or modify it in some way to make it profitable?

my friend nick just got 10-1 on $10,000 that biden would be next president from a high stakes home game bookie. Everyone is incredibly anti biden at this point even if they hate trump. true odds for biden right now are prob +130 so go for +200 or more and print sklansky bucks! My original bets are slightly under water right now which sucks but hopefully trump will be sentenced to prison soon!!! (that was part of my original calculation)

Sometmes it can be hard to realize just how crazy the correct play may be based on certain live opponents.

I play in a 2-5 NL game in the Bay area and a morning reg completely baises his play off of whether he is up or down or whether this particular pot will make him stuck or ahead. It will lead him to calling a 2x pot bet with a medium hand to folding the near nuts if it meant risking his profits to call.

The players who aren't aware or paying attention to that kind of behavior are missing out on some of the largest gains in live poker in my honest opinion.
