$5/10 and $10/25 NLHE Specialist: Ask me Anything About NLHE
I've been a professional poker player for six years, and I currently specialize in live $5/10 and $10/25 NLHE. I also run a training site and have coached over 200 students. Ask me anything. I will answer the best questions, and try to help as much as possible. If you think my knowledge may be useful to you in any way, ask away.
Do you think 20BI enough or whats your preferred amount to be bankrolled properly?
Do you buy in 100BB or prefer to start deeper? Let’s say if i buy in 200BB+ each time i sit down, do i need larger bankroll than 20BI? Maybe 30 will be more appropriate?
30 buy-ins would certainly be better. I recommend having a 3 buy-in stop-loss any given day, and having 30 buy-ins means you'll never lose more than 10% of your bankroll on any day. Perhaps a 2 buy-in stop loss could apply if you only start with 20 buy-ins.
I buy in for 200bb or 250bb when it is the max allowed. Having thirty 200BB buy-ins is ideal for live poker. But a lot will depend on your situation and whether you have other income sources.
Do you aim to play a certain amount of hours each week?
Ex. If you shoot for 40 hours Do you really try to hit 40 or do you sometimes play 30 or 35 or 45?
Thank you.
I typically play around 30 hours per week. It can range from 25-35 depending on how early games start and how long they last. As long as I am consistently in that range, I'll hit my volume goals for the year.
how did you improve your exploitative gameplay in a live 10/20 setting
I think exploitative gameplay can be worked on and improved at any stakes. While 10/20 players will tend to make less mistakes are offer less exploitative opportunities than 1/2 players, there are still opportunities. And all of that depends on paying effective attention and being willing to pull the trigger on the things you see.
I made 2 YouTube videos about exploitation and observation. You can find them here:
