TSLA showing cracks?

TSLA showing cracks?

With TSLA going in the past few days from 130 to 110 and now back up to 120, it seems the market is a bit on edge about this stock. They report earnings on the 23rd, and with the incredible run up it's had in the past 3 months (40-->120) I get the feeling that if they don't blow people away this stock has the potential to crack pretty violently.

With articles coming every day for and against TSLA, I generally believe it to be vastly overblown stock. They are never going to be able to sell enough cars at $80k to be extremely profitable, and 5 years is a long time to wait with no profits for the time they supposedly have a $40k model that will ready for mainstream.

Thoughts?

I hate to sound like a normie bum but people ****ing hate this guy now and it doesn't seem like it is going to abate anytime soon

no one thought BYD could school TSLA so fast, is it possible US automakers (or companies atleast allowed to sell products in US) can do the same?

Certainly seems possible. I don't have a great sense of how many people hate him to the point they would no longer buy a Tesla. It's easy to get fooled into thinking that a tiny minority of vocal internet and TV news people are representative of the general populace. Tesla sales ex-China are down since last year, but who knows if that's because people hate Elon or because of competition from other automakers. There are dozens of EV models available in the US now, from cheap Leafs to luxury Taycans, so I think Tesla will continue bleeding share. The fans Elon has gained are people who seem less inclined to get an EV than those whom he lost.

I don't follow the stock much anymore, but my sense is that the TSLA bulls are much more focused on the robotaxi angle. I'm skeptical, since they've been saying full autonomy is a few months away for like five years now, but they'll tell you this FSD 13.2 is really amazing and it's really happening this time. Good luck shorting it though.

How can you bet against the guy standing next to the president pontificating about creating a monarchy?

We are closer to 7 years of robo taxis than 5 but whos counting

FSD works pretty good. Still wants to occasionally slam you head on into oncoming traffic on an otherwise clear road, but pretty good none the less. They will never reach robotaxi level though

why don't you think they will ever reach robotaxi level?

are robotaxi EVs in major cities a pipedream?

that always seemed to me like the next leg of American productivity gains if it could be pulled off

I guess it comes down to what is allowable under regulation. A 97% solution might be enough. Maybe a blackmarket app comes out and they technically reach robotaxi status.

I think ultimately for robo taxis to run free in the wild they would have to be on some sort of central grid

maybe cause he has been saying it would be a thing since 2016

EV growth dead in 2024 and margins contracting

Neither Trump nor Musk have friends. They have acquaintances.

I came around, and I hate everything now.

IIRC the stock has 10 bagged since the whole "Cave pedo" and "funding secured" drama ( and lot's of other stuff). So no people don't care and if Tesla ever does drop a lot it won't be beacuse of Elon's behaviour.

aged like milk

Some of us described Musk accurately here before most of his today's sycophants knew he existed, but even we probably gave him too much credit. He really is just a functioning idiot.

FWIW it isnt controversial imo that many genius or very smart people in one field don’t have much « human skill » in everyday to day life ?
Some can even have long term mental illness aka robert james fisher .

Without robotaxis or any other profitable use of AI, how much is TSLA worth?

down 13% today

It’s ok !
Musk sacrifice for the greater good .
Props to him 😀

mindflayer you seem like a really decent guy, honestly bro I hope you sell your TSLA shares.

From reading his stuff, mindflayer is nowhere near all-in Tesla and can pretty easily afford to have that be a loser and not really feel it.

Dude believes in the company and is putting enough in to make it a big win if he’s right but not enough to make it hurt hurt if he’s wrong. Seems fine, imo.

Trump is doing social media ads begging people to buy Teslas. I wouldn't count them out quite yet since this administration has no morals or reservations or care for the law

He also declared the boycott of Tesla "illegal". They're both a** clowns.

Maybe musk will agree to sell share for trump coins …

I will have soon made some very greedy limiy-buy orders at $115 and $125.

Even still that's probably a bad entry price.

This "FSD" has always been crap. And we've called out how driving autonomously using cameras can easily lead to very poor outcomes.

This video captures those very poor outcomes:
