888poker confiscated 19k, without explanation

I have been playing high stakes poker on 888poker for over ten years.

About two months ago, I found a spam email from 888poker.
They requested some documentation, including my credit card information, front and back.
I assumed it was a phishing email, but found that my account had been locked.

I told them I would comply and send documentation, but that I would not be sending my credit card information, since I never used a credit card to deposit with.
This would also pose a security problem.
Years ago, Microgaming asked me for my credit card information through their client, and one of their employees used it to purchase almost 3.000 USD worth of Amazon gift cards. Of course, nothing was done about it.

I sent them my information, but they kept asking about my credit card information. I refused, and eventually they said I should just send the other documentation.

I sent them everything they asked for, and waited.
They replied that my account has been banned, and I would not be receiving any funds.
Their decision was final, according to their email.

So, I reached out to support and they told me to try again.
I received the exact same email from another 888 email account.
They also asked my for credit card information, which I refused to provide.
I once again sent them the other documents they had requested.

A day later, I received exactly the same email.
My account had been banned, and I would not be receiving any funds.
They linked me their terms of service, and that was it.

I still have no idea why my account has been banned.
In the last few months, I have played basically no volume, and I was trying to withdraw my funds.]

I suggested that they can ban me, as long as they would allow me to withdraw.
They kept the money.

TLDR 888poker tried to get my credit card info, I refused, but sent them the documents they requested. They banned me and took my money, without explanation.

888 does sound really bad for this, sorry to hear.

I do still think that if you don't give up and manage to speak to someone higher up who is competent that you can get your money back. The front line level of customer support will never be able to fix this.

You need to make a big fuss and get it out more in the public, ideally with the help of some of the other people you mentioned above.

I would also consider contacting PokerNews or even some mainstream news outlets to raise awareness to see i

Don't worry, I will not give up until this problem has been resolved.
Thanks for the Pokernews suggestion.

I can't imagine how many players who have no leverage they have done this to.

Yeah it's messed up.

Good luck sir and yeah don't give up!
