Baseball is a fun fantasy sport. I've never tried best ball, but I play in a home league h2h 10 man where we do a keeper cycle format of 5, 4, 3 and then a full redraft.

We draft on ESPN and I'll pull up the UD best ball ADP while drafting and just search guys and then translate that value to ESPN, since the ESPN ADP/rankings are not sharp.

I mainly punt pitcher too, as there are always startable guys on the wire. It's easier to hammer the sure thing batters early and then figure out pitching later.

Sounds like there are a lot of parallels between baseball and football best ball. I've read some content and watch some YT draft streams here and there, mainly to gauge player value for my redraft.

The patented 4 QB build. This room was very QB thirsty.

Bryce, Geno, Shedeur, Carr

Gibbs, Irving, Judkins, Mondre, Dowdle

JSN, Jamo, Olave, McMillan, Pittman, Harris, Jaylin Noel, Diontae

Kraft, JT Sanders, Higbee

I've been taking more Diontae than I expected, but it's hard to avoid him in the 20th round, even though he's more likely than not to be out of the NFL.

Dionte is a free square so that’s fine .
Where is Bucky going ?

Bucky is currently RB10 with an ADP of 24. I pulled him up to 21 with Gibbs, since I didn't have that combo yet.

I think he's a good price as long as TB sticks with their current backfield, which seems most likely. The new OC is a big unknown, but I think Bucky is talented enough, either way. Especially with the weekly upside he showed.

Rachaad is RB43 with an ADP of 146, which is a really good price following the same assumption.

Isn’t Rashaad a free agent ?

Na, last year of his rookie deal. There is no way they cut him and no way he tries to holdout.

Their new OC has a resilient resume.

Somehow, he survived Adam Gase, Brian Flores, and then Mike McDaniel in Mia, then worked last year under Coen. That kind of retention from coach to coach is usually noteworthy. Then working one year under Coen and being promoted. He could certainly crash and burn, but I think that type of resume shows upside.

Second and last draft of the night. I really like this one if the QBs work out.

Tua, AR, Shedeur

Achane, Kamara, Tracy, Allgeier, DJ Giddens, LeQuint Allen

ARSB, DJM, Tet, Jeudy, Matthew Golden, Keenan, Doubs, Adonai

Jonnu, Higbee, Chig

Seems solid, but since im not maxing the pre drafts I have a pretty strong full fade on AR, but if I was maxing I’d probably be at 6%ish so makes sense to draft him

I drafted this one yesterday, couldn’t stack Herbert so hoping one of the rookies is a charger.

Was going to add Ferguson with McBride but Goedert was there in the 140s so took him. Then wanted Tolbert but he went like 30 picks ahead of ADP

I’m 18 in, will probably get somewhere between 40-50

Dak, Herbert, Carr

Mixon, Conner, Sampson, Corum, Ollie, Harvey

CD, AJB, Tet, J McMillan, Shaheed, Mooney, Bech, Savion, E Moore

McBride, Goedert

I like that one. It's well balanced with upside. Sick price on Goedert. I'd probably be happy about missing out on Tolbert haha.

As far as AR, I'm playing him and Fields pretty loose. I have 14% AR and 10% Fields so far. It could be wrong, but all of the QBs in that range and behind have uncertainty. I'm mostly playing them in 3 QB builds as the upside piece that can match the early round QBs.

I'm also leaning into Ward, Shedeur and Dart. As the landscape becomes more defined, I'll tighten things up, but I think there are question marks right now for everyone once we get past Bryce. And even Bryce, I'd like to think he's 17 games safe with how he played the second half of last season, but who can really say?

And then all of the QBs Tua and higher seem locked in for 17 games, barring injury.

One strategy I've employed in MLB is narrowing down my player pool more than I did in NFL, and I think I'll likely end up doing something similar for NFL next season.

Basically I'm just x'ing out 3 players for every 12.

Update on the one BestBall team I did for NBA. Last day of R1 is on Sunday, and looks like I'll cruise through to R2, currently holding an 1,100 point lead over the 2nd place team.

I've been super fortunate with how healthy my team has been so far this season.

Round 1 was 17 weeks
Rounds 2-4 are 2 weeks each

2 adv from Rounds 1 and 2
1 adv from Round 3

Built a very 0 rb team

Hopefully i get lucky at rb haha

Mahomes, Tua, JJM

Dobbins, Najee, Neal, Guerendo, Martinez, Shipley, Mullings

JJ, Ladd, Reek, Tet, Rice, Royals, Bech, Nailor

Hock, Njoku

Feel like this one is quite a bit better

Kyler, Dak, JJM

Kaleb, Mondre, Najee, Ollie, Kendre, Martinez

JJ, AJB, Flowers, Addison, Deebo, Ayomanor, Bech, Diontae

McBride, Ferguson, Arroyo

I don't know. You've got Najee in both πŸ˜€

Did UD change to 20 players?

Najee is a decent price for now. Gotta get shares before he steams after signing somewhere haha.

UD does 20 rounds for predraft. Should be back to 18 post.

New guy, I drafted a mlb bestball on UD. Literally don’t know half the players. Howd I do lmao

King, Strider, S Gray, Alcantara, Keller, Buehler, Baz

Marte, Semien, Suarez, Dansby, Raleigh, Bogaerts

Tatis, J Rodriguez, Teoscar, Arozarena, PCA, Roman Anthony, Garett Mitchell

I'm not familiar with names off hand. Can you post a screenshot of the board?

I read that advance rates were higher when you stacked at least 10 hitters. You've got 9 (3x SEA, 2x ARI, 2x CHC, and 2x SD), which I think is fine. My last draft I got 5x NYY, 3x LAD, and 2x CHC.

I think your choice of teams overall looks solid as you mostly have teams that are projected to do well this season.

I'm still not sure which construction is most optimal. Looks like you went 7-6-7. I've mostly been going 6-7-7 or 8-6-6.

Only taking 2 pitchers in the first 10 rounds seems solid.

Did you reach on Arozarena at 58? On DK he's been going around 98.

Arozarena was right around ADP. Idk enough to reach haha

Pretty happy with this one. Kyler at 104 should not be possible.

Kyler, Dak, Rodgers

Conner, Pollard, Mondre, Rachaad, Allgeier, Guerendo, Jordan James

CD, Evans, Jamo, Rice, Keenan, QJ, Jayden Higgins, Michael Wilson

Bowers, Harold Fannin

Was torn between 3-6-8-3, 2-7-8-3, and 3-7-8-2. I think I played it right, because if Bowers isn't him, this team loses anyways.
