Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan

Nick Westbrook to Miami on 2 year deal.

Could hurt Malik Washington, but it does make it easier to draft a naked Tua.

Prior to last season, I thought taking Tua without at least one of Reek or Waddle was pretty bad. It's fine for the regular season pod but just felt really capped for the playoff weeks. After seeing last year's version of the offense, now I'm not so sure. But I also expect McDaniel to make some changes and efforts to get back to what was working with Reek and Waddle.

Still don't think I'd want just a Tua/NWI single stack, but if you get locked out at QB, you could probably do worse in a 3 QB build.

Agree it'd be better to have him with at least one of Reek, Waddle, Jonnu, and even Achane if he's going to continue to be part of the passing game.

I just got a pretty good team with Tua, Jonnu, Wright, NWI and Darnold, JSN, and Walker.

Started with Chase/Higgins, but sniped on Burrow. From where I've been seeing Burrow go lately it might be hard to get a full stack now unless you reach for him in the 3rd round. Not sure if that's worth it.

That sounds like a fun team. I miss late round Jonnu. He was one of my highest drafted TEs last season.

I definitely wouldn't take Burrow at the 2/3 turn. I don't feel good taking him at the 4/5 turn, even with Tee/Chase, especially given the uncertainty still surrounding their contracts. But I've mixed it in a little bit.

Yeah I'm going to be pretty strict about not taking a QB or TE in the first 5 or 6 rounds unless they fall to me. Same with players I'm "fading" this season. I got my first CMC the other day only because he fell 3 spots past his ADP.

Got one I really like. First time going 5 straight wr to start also

Nix, Herbert, Darnold

Kaleb, Tracy, Warren, Tuten, Sampson, Allgeier, Kendre

Chase, Ladd, JSN, Zay, Tet, Bech, Vele

Engram, Fannin, Fant

That one is a banger. Fannin to LAC one time.

I’m staying around 4% on the QBs and 8% on the TEs in the first 5-6 for now.

Who’s one player in the top 10 rounds everyone is hard fading?

Mine is Shakir. I’m rarely a 0% exposure fader, but I’m at 0% Shakir through 100+. He also rarely falls, or else I’d have a little. I just don’t get it on him haha.

In the first 5 rds (I don’t have a strong opinion on any, but just don’t like clicking them)

Henry, Chase brown, Chuba

In 6-10

Jalen McMillan, Pacheco, Kupp, Hunter (think I have 1 share)

I wouldn’t touch Chuba now that they signed Dowdle.

I have fades and hard fades. Fades are guys I won't unless they fall (CMC, Reek) and the hard fades are guys I won't take at all. I would say the majority of my hard fades are just going to be rookies that aren't ranked very high. Someone like an RJ Harvey.

There are some non-rookies in the first 10 rounds I haven't drafted yet, and honestly don't have much interest unless they fall a lot. Kupp, Diggs, and Pacheco.

I’m a Hunter sucker haha. I have like 16%.

I’m underweight the rest, minus McMillan who I’m at 9% and am still conflicted on. His median and floor outcomes suck, but I still like the ceiling outcome. Plenty of risk for the other WRs in his range too.

I’m not sure what to think of this Rico signing for fantasy. I’m happy irl, but Chuba probably belongs in the 6th now. The other option was likely one or two day 3/udfa guys.

Rico was pretty good last year, but he’s still a guy who had a breakout in year 5. The Panthers paid Chuba and clearly love him. That was before Brooks re-tore his ACL too. Canales wants to establish the run, we’re improving the defense, and I think the offense will be better too. The receivers and TEs are also meh. They could run this thing through Chuba/Rico, with Chuba getting 60-70%. If Bryce takes another jump, it could be enough. And there’s also still contingency for both. We’ve seen Rico be an 80% snap guy and Chuba be a 90% snap guy.

I’m basically at 0% Diggs/Pacheco. I have like 6% Kupp, but most was before we learned just how much the Rams are out on him.

I overdraft all rookies, but it’s simply a directional bet I always believe in. There’s so much variance, but I know rookies will hit and I’ll have enough volume where the good should outweigh the bad.

So I'm using NFLDraftBuzz's positional rankings. They go back to 2021, and so far any RB or TE they've ranked worse than 10 hasn't had a good rookie year. Which is why I mentioned I was fading RJ Harvey who they have ranked 17th among RBs.

WR is a little different because of how volatile the position is and how many get drafted. So I'm willing to take guys ranked as low as 35-40.

I like RJ Harvey a lot, he pops in all the projections/rankings I look at vs ADP

I think looking at historic results on drafted players might be dangerous. This year is a very avg wr class and an elite rb class, so I’m drafting a lot of rookie RBs and only a couple rookie WRs at their costs

RBs -

all the guys on the t10 rds
Skattebo
Sampson
Tuten
Harvey
Smith
Martinez

Are my favorites, don’t understand the hate on Skattebo at all

Wr -

Tet
Golden
Ayomanor
Bech
Higgins
Savion

Interesting. As a Cowboys fan this surprises me.

Bunch of incentives to get him to 6.5Mish? Nothing changed for Chuba. Big downgrade to Dowdle.

by tarheels2222 m

I probably wouldn’t be shopping for any RBs in that range until after the draft. It’s really tough to tell right now with this draft class looming.

What rookie picks do you have?

Of the ones worth noting, I guess 2.1 and 2.12. But a ton of ammo for trades. And yeah I won't get guys till after the draft.

More dangerous than looking at Madden ratings? πŸ˜€

I'm all for gambling on the unknown upside of rookies, but based on where RJ Harvey is going right now I'd rather draft Javonte Williams (gross), Allgeier, or Guerendo. Or even waiting and getting Brashard Smith a little later.

In a draft wondering why the value is so dang good, and then I looked at the board.

Got every single player except for three of them past their ADP. Waddle was my biggest "reach" at 4 spots. Reed was my biggest value at 17 spots.

Mahomes, Dak, Tua

Achane, Judkins, Skattebo, Dylan Sampson, Allgeier

Lamb, Wilson, Worthy, Waddle, Reed, Palmer, Ayomanor, Westbrook, Savion

Jonnu, Ferguson, Fannin

Looks good to me

Not sure how to feel about this one

Pulled Mike Will up to 193, feel like that has a chance to work out

Not thrilled to have Andrews + Flowers w no Lamar, but Andrews was past adp

Love, Maye, Russ (last pick)

Jacobs, Kaleb, Benson, Sampson, Corum, Martinez

Chase, Tee, Flowers, Tet, Reed, Bech, Mwill, Boutte

Andrews, Njoku, Henry

Wouldn't hate the Russ pick as much if you had DK, and then just hope the Steelers don't get Rodgers. Everything else is good.

I honestly chose him bc his blurb said β€œmet with Browns” haha

Can you imagine going into the season as a Browns fan with Kenny Picket and Russ Wilson as your QB's? I guess it's better than Deshaun Watson.
