2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
If a team ends up drafting him in the 2nd, I’ll of course adjust my priors and draft him, so I almost for sure will have him at either 0% or at his worst price haha
I decided that I’m using the big board to get my “taking strong stands” out of the way for the post draft contests
That's fair. The Big Board is the best place for strong stands with the slew of uncertainty.
I'm already not a big player take guy and certainly am not in the weeds on rookies pre-draft haha. But I like the asymmetric upside of Harris compared to the others in the range. He could certainly bust my 15%, and I wouldn't be surprised.
It's another reason I'm at 16% Hunter. Although, he's creeping up into the 90s, and I don't like that. I think my cheapest share is at the 12/13 turn.
Gotcha. I did end up taking him. This is the 2nd time I've had Dak sniped by the same person lol. Do you think it's closer if it was a 10-12 spot reach?
Lamar, Darnold, Carr
Walker, Najee, BRob, Dowdle, Braelon, Brashard
Lamb, JSN, Flowers, Pickens, Shaheed, Hopkins, Noel, Whittington
Andrews, Warren, Juwan
FWIW these are the players I could have drafted over reaching for Carr
Na, for me it's more about already having Lamar/Darnold in the construction than about Carr's price. If Lamar was your only QB and you needed Carr, I think even something like a 30 spot reach is fine, depending on the draft room. But Carr is both uncertain for 17 weeks, and his realistic upside is probably a few 20+ point games, when you're already expecting Lamar to mostly cover that, with Darnold filling it. Carr may add 10-25 points in that spot, assuming Lamar/Darnold stay healthy and equal bye weeks. And I'm just not worrying about bye week downside.
And I'm still drafting some Carr, but it's more so in 3 QB builds where I might have something like Tua, Bryce, and Carr stacked.

Makes sense, and yeah you definitely need 3 QBs if you're drafting Tua lol
Haha, I'm usually not a big Tua guy, but I have 11%. It's tough not to at his price, and I've been drafting Reek, Waddle and Jonnu. He's a nice comfy blanket in the 11/12/13 range when you missed on earlier QBs.
Even something like Love, Tua, and Carr or Drake, AR, and Carr, those types of combos seem good.

I probably made a mistake mostly fading hunter at his previous price. To me he’s a different bet than Harris bc I think Harris is probably just bad, if Hunter has a legit role, I think he’s almost guaranteed to be good
DK finally updated players to their correct teams.
Maye would have definitely been a fun add in that spot.
Hunter is very live to land there and be absolutely needed to play WR.
I can’t stop drafting Chuba and Diggs/Keenan which feels gross haha
Mahomes, Tua, Rodgers
Saquon, Chuba,Skattebo, Davis, Martinez, Hill
Tee, Reek, Rashee, Pickens, Diggs, Doubs, Ayomanor, Slayton
Jonnu, Kelce, Fannin
I would be very much in on Tet too, but my vibes are Tet probably isn't good enough to be #4. Pats may be desperate enough to do it, though, o line is likely a better choice.
I like Chuba and Keenan. I’ve been out on Diggs. Though, took him in the 140s in a slow earlier. Definitely need Chuba to be that dude on the team above haha.
Speaking of both the Pats and Diggs.
3 Lamb teams in a row where I've been sniped on Dak
Baker, Tua, Rodgers
Jacobs, Jones, Pollard, Javonte, Wright, ETN
Lamb, Reek, Devonta, Godwin, McMillan, Ayomanor, Slayton, Demarcus R.
Kraft, Pitts, Muth
Where is Dak going on DK? I usually pull him to the mid 10th anytime I want to stack with CD. I’m guessing he’s going higher than that.
That team is still fun.
About the same range. He’s 122 on UD. You can push to the mid 11th on UD with decent success. But I don’t have a ton of the combo, so I like to lock it in when available, especially when light at QB. I probably have Dak on roughly 50-60% of my Lamb teams.
Got my first triple rb start, think it’s pretty viable
Maye, Bryce, Rodgers
Bijan, Bucky, Jacobs, Harvey, B Smith
Rashee, Olave, Jeudy, Pickens, Mooney, Diggs, Coker, Bech, Hollins
Warren, Muth, Sanders
Here's a fun one. Stack Baker and Godwin and then another WR on the turn or take the value on Mahomes and grab Kelce on the turn. The guy after me already took Kittle so it's likely he passes on Kelce.
Hmm, my decision would be decided on the combo percentages I had with all of those players against the guys I already drafted.
But in a vacuum, I probably take Mahomes value and stack Kelce then Hollywood, since you’ve started 0-2-3-0 and aren’t hurting at RB or WR.

I agree. I’ve done it few. The Fantasy Dog Pound streamer posted a 3 RB start of Gibbs, CMC, Bucky on Twitter, and most people didn’t like it. Likely too weak at WR, you need all 3 to smash, blah, blah, blah.
But let’s say you had this start last year and took Rice as your first or second WR and he stays healthy. It works great. You’re hoping for that same bet on this squad. Or Godwin if he stays healthy. Or Kupp when he won the triple crown.
I really like the WRs from rounds 4 to the late 7th and think there are some potential smash opportunities for builds like this. Obviously have to push QB/TE when you do it. I think you made out well with each group.
We’re trying to win $250k, not drafting just to advance.
Actually, funny coincidence, I was just going through naming my teams that recently finished and noticed one of my RB/RB/RB starts. I must have not been fully paying attention on the last pick as I was clicking through my slows and took a 6th RB. That should have been a 9th WR instead. Oops, but probably not a huge blunder. I'm still pretty strong at WR.
NWI, DeRob, Tutu, Vele, Malik, Parker, Diontae, etc. were the top remaining WRs on the board, so not exactly an exciting group.
Penix, AR, Fields
Bijan, JT, Breece, Gordon, James, Blue
Davante, Rice, Jauan, Ridley, Mooney, Pittman, Thielen, Royals
Kelce, Gesicki, Higbee
Fields at 146, Davante at 47, Kelce at 119. I did pull Penix up to 122. So 3 RBs, 6 WRs through 9.

Oh wow, I like that a lot, outside of AR but makes sense in the moment
