Never wrong, just early haha

Alec Pierce just got the softest ejection of all time

Heels gonna draft all the Pitts next season.

Alright, I’m officially done drafting playoff best ball. Don’t think drafting my last 50 mitten 2s will yield anything unique and I’m getting bored of them haha

Here’s what I have (need Seahawks in the sb, always fun to rely on Sam Darnold haha)

Hey guys, just in a reflective mood about the 2025 best ball and redraft season. I can share my results for transparency here.

For best ball, I drafter 423 teams for a total investment of $1,407. My total return was $1,284.70, for 91.3% of my investment, for a loss of $122.30. This was mostly on Underdog with 18% of this on Yahoo. Given that these sites take about a 10% rake, my results were about average.

I was able to fade Tyreek Hill, but I also missed by fading Puka given all the Stafford injury concerns. I also missed on James Cook with all the experts talking about his TD regression this year. Missed on McBride this year too, because that price was so high. But I also faded Bowers and most of Kittle as well.

For my redraft results, I played in 5 leagues. A $50 home league and four $20 Yahoo Public leagues. I won a 2nd and 3rd in Yahoo Public. So my total investment was $130 and my return was $80 for a loss of $50, or 38%.

So this year I played and lost under $200 overall. Not a huge loss, but I guess I'm doing it for the challenge and entertainment of it. I can say that part of the entertainment is keeping track of how much I won/lost after all those drafts, ownership analysis, podcasts listened to etc. Drafting can be a fun and addictive process when you are in the midst of it.

As far as Yahoo Public, I've played both $50 and $20 in the past. But at this point I'll stick with playing at the $20 level until I have a season or a few seasons were I feel I'm dominant there. This year I was only able to break even there. I did make the playoffs in 3/4 teams which is pretty good. Given the average number of playoff spots you would make in the long run is 1.6 when playing 4 redraft seasons (4/10 make the playoffs).

I'll also stick to doing $3 drafts on UD and $5 drafts on Yahoo, given that I have never had a winning season doing this and it was my third year doing this.

Just out of curiosity, I checked my previous year best ball results. My first year, 2023 I spent $4,363 and received $4,054 for a loss of $309 or 7.1%. This result is slightly better than an average result of negative 10%.

In 2024, I spent $857 for a return of $590 for a loss of $267 or 31.2%. The positive take away from that is that I'm losing less in pure dollar amount each of the three years. Hopefully I can get a winning year coming up.

I don't think coming close to breaking even is anything to be upset about, especially with the amount of variance involved. As long as you're having fun, enjoying the process, and learning from any mistakes.

Part of me is kind of hoping Ruxin gets canned. He could be fun in ATL.

Feel like Atlanta should just hire Kubiak

They'll probably do something stupid like hire McCarthy. Although, he wouldn't be the worst from a fantasy standpoint.

If the Titans are dumb enough to hire Nagy, I'll probably just fade them again lol.

Yeah, McCarthy would be fine for fantasy. His teams have been top 5 in points scored in 10 of the 18 seasons he's been a HC.

I'm happy Gannon was fired. Pete Carroll too.

Let's get some young offensive guys to these teams. I'd also be fine with someone like Stefanski.

Doesn’t seem likely haha.

Ha yea, all signs pointed to them keeping him.

Ya man, improving and having fun are the main goals. Trying to improve my build percentages and be more balanced. Just because I hear some bad news about a player doesn't mean I have to be 0% on him. Also, if I like a player, I don't need to be 30%.

I think it's good to know your portfolio percentages early on so you have plenty of time to balance, rather than late, where you are rushing to get the percentages you want, and possibly making sub-optimal picks.

I'm not playing fantasy for pure profit as fun is a big factor. I'd say poker is a game that I rely more on profit for, give the time it takes to play and grind out wins. Best ball is more grinding early and then sitting back and watching the results.

Taking stands is part of the game, but I realized this year that it's probably better to take stands by the contest and not across your entire portfolio.

There will be players that I will have 0 of in the Milly next season, but maybe I'll play them in some Puppies or other small buy-in contests.

Another thing I started doing in Playoff BB is making sure that at least one of my last two picks is someone I have less than 8% of overall.
