2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
DK is live. There's a $1 20 max to draw you back in, newguy.
Training Camp is $10 for $1 mil guaranteed on 117k entries and $250k to first. I think that's half the prize pool they ran last year. 2/12, 1/12, 1/12, then a 136 person final, which is nice. The rake, plus 25% to 1st is not nice.
I think I'll just be sticking to UD.
ETA: I was able to find stream on 3/13/25 for Liam for DK pre-draft. Looks like Training Camp was $1 mil guaranteed and $200k to first, but the contest had only been live a couple of days at that point. So it looks like they dropped it a month earlier this year, which I'm guessing makes it way less likely to overlay.
Yea, I think I'll do 12 more BBs to put me at 50 and that feels like a good stopping point.
My plan is 100-150 BBMs. Maybe 10-20 Eliminators. The rest of my volume will come from in season quarterly and the playoffs.
I think the only way I go to DK is if they lower the price of the Milly or change to a 20 second clock.
I'll probably be skipping BBM. If DK runs the same rakeback promos as last season, then I'll do 50 DK Millys.
Other than that, I'll probably mostly focus on the Puppies. I want to chase maximum upside when my teams hit, so the contests with $10k, $20k, etc. up top aren't as attractive to me anymore. Especially after factoring in the time commitment.
If I could guarantee that I'd be able to max the Puppies I would focus on those for sure, but they fill too fast and zero chance I'm doing any slows lol
Haha. That's like how JSN is for me. I have 0 so far, because I'm always taking the top 4 over him. I finally got a 1.05 the other day and the 1.04 goes JSN. I was happy to take Chase at 1.05.
Looks good to me. I'm pretty into MHJ at his price, but as your first WR it could be dicey. Can't be much worse though, right?
I’m excited to finally join you guys in doing more football best ball now .
Eh, if you don't get Bowers or McBride, then I don't think you can really screw up at TE. I do like going 4 like you did though.
Made an interesting dynasty trade in 14tm
It’s 2x tep, SF, PPFD, and you get pts per carry
Lotta dumb rules haha
Here’s the trade
Felt like I needed depth vs star power in Chase and didn’t need stroud necessarily with Dak, Willis, Arod
Here’s my team, plan to draft Tyson, Tate, Lemon at 1.03
WRs seem fine. Keenan is the only one I have zero interest in taking.
Hmm, I think you took on more risk, but I can see your upside hitting more often. Jeanty might already be worth equal to or more than Chase with those scoring settings. 14tm is tough, especially with QB. I think I might prefer Mendoza at 1.03, assuming he doesn't go 1.02. Only having Dak, Willis, and Rodgers is pretty thin for the future. But I won't argue against the upside of the top 3 rookie WRs. Too bad there probably wont' be a TE worth the 1.03 with the 2xTEP.
If the QBs and WRs hit, this team will be nice. I probably go 5 RBs and 9 WRs but just a small nitpick.
Agreed, I haven't clicked Keenan once and don't plan to. Just don't think he has any upside remaining. I also haven't clicked Jakobi at his price. I think he gets squeezed and is the most mispriced of the Jags WRs, regardless of his contract extension. Hoping he falls some.
Gotta have at least one team where I overspend at both QB and TE. Aiyuk to the Bills could be fun.
Spoiler
Can work if the RBs find a way. I'd probably have tried to find a couple of more that can win jobs outright rather than via injury.
I've been building a lot of teams like this, except I prefer a more certain second QB right now. I've been doing something like take my second QB somewhere in rounds 9-11 for guaranteed starter, then fill in that WR/RB/TE later.
But the 3-5-9-3 with a heavy spend at RB has been fun.
I think I’m viewing Keenan a bit differently. I basically agree that he has no upside, but I’m treating him more as a guy that can score 12 pts in a couple weeks and help push the team on
Almost everyone in that range is basically a 0 and I kinda think those point scorer types (if he doesn’t retire) are pretty underrated. I could be overcorrecting for how I’ve played those spots previously though haha
I may be overplaying Kyler/Willis, but I’m basically treating them as guaranteed w1 starters. Whether they keep those jobs is a different story haha
On another note, I have an open spot in a 10tm dynasty team that has been all 2p2 members. A lot of them aren't active in the thread anymore, but they're still around in other places. Jimmy is in the league.
The annual dues are $50. The settings are start QB/2RB/3WR/TE/Flex/SF, PPR scoring, noTEP, standard QB scoring with 4 pt passing, etc. There is nothing special about the scoring settings. The bench is 16 spots, 3 IR spots, and 4 taxi spots, that is rookie only. 6/10 make the playoffs, with the top 2 earning byes.
The team has some pieces. It's below.
Caleb, Stafford, Penix, Rodgers, Fields
Bucky, Kyren, Aaron Jones, Kamara, Ray Davis, Najee, Shipley, Chubb, Perine, McNichols, Ty Johnson
Egbuka, McLaurin, Watson, Sutton, Metcalf, Worthy, Kyle Williams, Bourne
Bowers, Geodert, Knox
For draft picks in 2026, 1.02, 2.02, 3.02, 4.02, and 5.02. Also has all future picks. Doesn't have any picks from other teams. The 2026 season is paid for. We pay one season ahead, so you'd owe for the 2027 season before the rookie draft, which is scheduled to begin at 8 am EST on 5/11.
In case you missed it, Miami hired Patullo as their pass game coordinator.
Sigh
I didn't have the heart to post it when I saw last night.
Other than mixing in Achane at an underweight clip due to his single week upside, I think I'm completely out on the Phins. I haven't clicked Waddle once yet. Neither Wright or Gordon, either.
I've taken Washington once or twice, but at least he's free.
I guess if they do sign Willis, I'll take him some and just bank on the rushing upside.
I've also taken Reek a few times, but that's assuming he's on a different team.
