I need to get off my devices and do some very low arousal recreation and really try to get into a mentally relaxed state before we turn it back on next week.

am hoping this is what's happened to our boy and we're not in RIP OP territory

Let's let him cook. Posting on a dead poker forum is not the path to greatness.

I'm sure we'll get a triumphant return soon enough; unfortunately I don't know his social media handles, so someone else will have to e-stalk him for proof of life I suppose.

Surely Thremp looks for online pics showing Guy's BBC bulge on the daily so I assume he will let us know if anything actually seems to be up.

All good. Bulge just for thremp and dunyian

Update when I'm looking turbo shredded. Stay tuned.

Oh one more thing:
I finished Clair Obscur Expedition 33. I can state without hesitation that it stands as one of the most profound and transcendent achievements in the history of interactive media. It is not merely a video game, but a monumental work of art, It is an awe-inspiring, once-in-a-generation synthesis of narrative, aesthetics, and gameplay that elevates the medium into the realm of high culture.

Few titles in the history of the form have dared to engage with the philosophical, emotional, and artistic dimensions of the human experience with such unapologetic ambition. Clair Obscur is a staggering cultural artifact. It's an opus of unmistakable significance to the canon of Western artistic expression. It is both intellectually and emotionally moving, a hauntingly beautiful testament to what video games can become when treated as serious vehicles of artistic and existential inquiry.

Go play it.

i can't post any sad attempts at progress right now because it'll be right after that stuff you posted as well as puts me in a state to lose politarding privileges in the thread

but i'm down to 215 now and started at 225, it definitely helped getting a 2 week cold along the way which dramatically curbed appetite and cut drinking to zero but a lot of it is the program, i'm also gaining muscle mass

i know this isn't a big thing for the fitness peeps of the thread but i'm absolutely shocked at my current weight

but my ex gf was a true gym rat and spent 2-3 hours a day there and after moving in together i started joining her and never had these kind of gains just sitting around listening to podcasts and deciding on the fly which workout i'd do half heartedly next - yes i got firmer and stronger, but i wasn't shedding pounds

importantly, i don't feel completely sore all the time, idk if that's part of the program or because i use that shaking machine after each workout, but being able to barely move at times was the norm for me before due to soreness which isn't happening now at all

more importantly, i haven't been 215 since high school, not that i'm usually fat (but probably by thread standards) but i'm somewhat shocked at how low my weight is because my gut is definitely prominent and quite far my normal state of affairs so wouldn't be surprised if i got down to 210 and perhaps even touch 200

6'2" with massive legs and a disproportionately long torse so i've always been in the 220-230 range my entire adult life so this is wild seeing how fat i still am and yet in completely unknown territory weight wise

thank you

Probably this was the problem. This was by far the biggest problem of my career. I always lol at influencers and coaches and athletes and **** who say "omg most people aren't training hard enoguh1!1" but most people who are going on stage/pl/oly platform etc are training way too much and even some regular gym people are training way too much and it's getting in the way of their progress. 1.5 hours is like absolute max training session for a leg day on a bro split maybe for somebody that has only one leg day per week. Beyond that, somewhere between 45-75 minutes is appropriate, not counting mobility work and general warmup.

The workouts I gave you might take closer to 60-75 minutes, but probably shouldn't be over that and if so it's a matter of just pulling back on effort level a little bit.

yeah if i do it at a reasonable pace it takes about 1.5 hours and sometimes when i don't have that much time due to other conflicts i'll just skip stuff if the lone machine planet fitness has is occupied at the moment

thank you

But what are your thoughts on Clair Obscur Expedition 33?

That is quite the game load - those last 3 you could just spend 12 hours/day on every day for years.

hams showing some definition finally. Glutes still carrying tons of fat. Upper body ofc looks amazing as always. 10.5/12.5 weeks out. I'm gonna start pushing harder/faster and dropping any starchy carbs from rest days. I'll still consume around 150g (direct) carb on rest days from fruit sources (not counting trace carbs in my almond butter and guac).

Around 250-300g carb on training days. Protein all the way up to 280-300

bout 92-93 in the morning. I think I need to get down to around 84-86 to have real stage ready glutes and hams. But I only need to drop about 2-3kg to have stage ready upper body.

it's not even weak hams or glutes, just fat storage patterns. Some of the IFBB pros I look up to only RDL about as much as I do in bbing rep ranges. Not great in this meta of glute hams being so highly prized, but way less abdominal fat storage is obviously way better for being a regular human and impressing normies/girls. One of my mates has glute lines before he gets visible abs. I could force feed mcdonalds all day and drop steps to 3k and if I lifted at all I'd still have visible abs even at ultra high bodyfat.

300g of protein seems like a chore. Whew.

Even I can notice the hams and glutes somehow lacking definition when the rest of you poppin' off. Sad but seems you'll get there.

Population collapse, cycles, elite overproduction. It's literally talking over an image for 2 hours and obviously very facking HC. This has become one of my favorite youtube channels but it's niche even by my standards and mostly aspie dissections of Nietzsche.

Here's my worry: The rising cognitive demands of modern labor have disrupted the historical pattern in which population decline typically led to greater economic egalitarianism. In the past, labor shortages gave workers increased bargaining power, resulting in a more equitable distribution of wealth and opportunity and thus members of societies having vested interest in preserving it, in contrast to what we see today in the west where a lot of political disagreement is actually over how best to tear society down and rebuild it. This cyclical dynamic, where population decline temporarily benefited the average person relative to elites, is breaking down.

Crucially, there is a difference between intelligence and education. Simply raising educational attainment won’t resolve this imbalance. Universal Basic Income, while often proposed as a solution, is unlikely to be implemented quickly or thoughtfully enough to mitigate the issue. Meanwhile, the advance of AI is accelerating the problem, not solving it, further entrenching inequality by replacing not just manual labor, but increasingly, cognitive labor as well.

I hope I'm wrong and the cycle just repeats and gen alpha/late gen z ends up being a very prosperous generation in the same way boomers/late gen x was.

Can you acknowledge the realities of IQ/intelligence/genes/race and still be a liberal? I consider myself as such. But it seems rare which makes me think I must be wrong about a lot of things if so few other people think like I do.

300g protein isn't a chore at all when you're hungry, 92kgs down from 101kgs, and averaging 14k+ steps per day while posing 30-40 minutes every single day as well. But in a surplus I've done it before and if you do it from lean sources yeah it's a challenge and entirely un-necessary for a 100kg offseason man. 220-250 is fine in a surplus.

I believe in a bunch of socially liberal policies, but I find dumb people are very much worried about inequality rather than their rapidly improving lifestyle. I don't think even people who are marginally dumber than me (more soft skills than raw IQ) understand that their are things I'm capable of that they'd never be able to accomplish.

One anecdote that comes mind is my buddy who was CTO at a tech company needed to build a holepunch engine (a completely made up term) that allowed port/IP matching for VoiP calls from commercial connections. He literally tried to get anyone else on his 20+ person engineering team to build it and then had to bang it out in three weeks. Could any of these people have learned the skills? Maybe. But none had the skills. Now he's building high performance storage fabric on S3. Dude is just much smarter than you average engineer and it is unlikely most people would ever attain this level of ability even if they specialized in a niche for a lifetime, where can flit between different complex technical problems and solve them. When you're faced with the reality that someone can do something that makes everyone's life better (can call people or access files faster), you can readily understand that they should be compensated better. When you're one of these plebs doing unskilled labor, you don't have this level of interaction and seem to think that these jobs are simply nepotism and require no real skill you can develop some very weird commie views.

Or like illegal immigration which occurs somewhat in Europe around the fringes, but isn't as widespread and ingrained with pervasive criminality in the US due to a variety of issues that no one is comfortable tackling. Oh no. ID requirements. Oh no. We can find poor people so we can give them bennies effortlessly and fire all the middle age black women who are useless middlemen in giving poors bennies. This is pretty standard in every first world country, but you can find one or more huge issues someone in the US would have with that prior statement which should be trivially implemented.

So much of our neurobiology is wired to be distressed and negative about our relative well being compared to our absolute level of well being. I don't think this is something you can change by everyone being more conscious of their rapidly advancing lifestyles or adopting mindfulness or whatever. It's important and predictive of so many other types of dysfunction. This of course then raises the question on whether inequality itself is downstream from other societal dysfunctions that build upon each other.

Dumb people do seem to pay inordinate amount of attention to inequality. That doesn't necessarily diminish it's importance. Maybe I'm among this group of dumb people, I don't know or care. I don't consider my intelligence or lack thereof an important part of my identity; I consider my habits and values my identity.

The fact that championing for seemingly unlimited illegal immigration seems like a bizarre thing to become common among left-leaning folks; it's as if they don't understand the fundamentals of how wages and labour markets function.

An inflammatory statement to many: Politics is just neuro-physiology.

Deciding what to read next: Spengler, Georges Bataille, continue with more Nietzsche. Open to other recommendations.

I'm a really big fan of Deathspell Omega's music and their philosophy is heavily inspired by Bataille, but I can't say I've spent any time even reading lyrics or trying to understand their philosophy and if I find it dumb or obtuse I might end up enjoying their music slightly less.

Managing the unwashed masses is pretty much the only goal that matters for elites. If you're there, you just don't wanna have to kill the herds of idiots that do the little things for you, so you can give them some cake on occasion.

The illegal immigration thing is pretty ****ing wild esp living in Europe and trying to explain how this works and how there are numerous secondary effects. IE If we have strong ID and a national population registry, we can find homeless people and help them. When you don't, you just kinda guess at who the **** is in some tent camp. Honestly the opposition from both sides to strong ID is probably my major issues with most people in America who want to help poors or stop illegal immigration. It is just such an effortless thing. I also find the fake smokescreens of "accessibility" to be hilarious. European public servants are on banker hours and still everyone can book an appointment and manage to get one.

Is it possible to think some kind of immigration regulation is necessary but also hope that all the people involved are treated semi-decently a stance?

Afaict these are two separate things that somehow get bunched together. We either need to allow all immigration and give them all a ton of resources or have absolutely none and treat every illegal immigrant as a horrible human being.
