I'm not a fan of the bomb pots with a plan of hit hard or fold. I had 3346 and hit bottom set on one board and 2 pair on the other. Everybody checks to button who bets 10 and all call (I am utg). River comes and all the money goes in from 5 players including me. My 2 pair turned into bottom straight (meh) and my set of 3s looked okay (no straight or flush). River did not improve me and my 3s held for half the pot. But that pretty much ended the game as 3 players busted leaving us 5 handed.
Sounds like a standard bomb pot [emoji23] how can you not be a fan?

Bomb pots are interesting, but I guess this is one slight problem with them - people having no idea how to play PLO and end up going bust and leaving. And in worst case it could break a game.

The Venetian actually has 2 bomb pot games listed on their board. A $10 double bomb pot (200-1000) and a $25 double bomb pot (500-unlimited). If those games ever go I am willing to bet it's degen central!
Anyway just played another 2.5 hours at V and it was fruitful. In for 300 out for 416.
Now gonna head over to the noon Wynn. The 11:10 V 400 Bounty looked pretty sparce. I need to focus better today!

Bomb pots are great, great for action, great for the game. Soooooo many mouth breathers stacking off with single digit% equity.
First break. 32.7 k much better than yesterday. I feel good about this one.
Second break and things are going well 😀 About 145k
Went on a major league sun run after first break and quickly got up to about 120k. Then I started leaking trying to play big stack but got real hot again right before break. I am guessing I am chip leader?
Still reg until end of break but so far 103 with 45left.

I have a good feeling about this.
Uhg :( too bad they don't pay for leading after second break. I went out 24th. Missed a few coin flips trying to get rid of short stacks. Then I dumped 2/3s of my stack on JJ VS AQ and lost. Shoved final 35k with A5 and lost to A6.
So goes the heartache of tourney poker. Got to get some and maybe more cash although I have spent a lot of ti.e playing today. Might just drink instead 😀
Went back to the room and showered the stink of that tourney off of me. I felt pretty grimy after about 12 hours at the poker table today. Didn't feel like the whole sit down meal thing so I just grabbed some Popeyes and ate it in the room. I have some beers in the cooler and just gonna decompress a bit until I crash.
Likely gonna try early morning cash again. Not sure if I will do another tourney tomorrow or not? Cash has been going well this trip so I might just stick with that.

actually it's the opposite (not degen central), i played in that game like 3 times when i was in town a couple of weeks ago, and it's a bunch of regs/nits, who actually know (kind of) what they are doing in bomb pots.
no real big pots, careful play, unless it's really 2 big hands clashing ... and then it's often a chop.
from my experience the bomb pots in regular games are much more profitable.

That makes sense the more I think about it. Seems like it could be good for a nut peddler. It seems like the shift change bomb pots make everyone go crazy. I folded every single one this morning.
Got up real early again and just got cleaned up and headed to the poker room at 4:30 am. 3 games going and my table was lively with 2 aggro fish who rebought often. I played for about an hour and a half leaving right after the fishyest fish left. It was a nice session in for 300 and out for 603.
Cash has been working good so far (no down sessions) so I think I am gonna stick with that today. Still pissed I screwed up yesterday's tourney. I don't wanna sit a a tourney again for 6+ hours and get squat 😀
After cashing out I headed to Grand Lux for one of my breakfast favorites. Breakfast quesadilla. Delicious! Now probably just gonna walk for an hour or two to get my steps in before settling into another day of leatherassing poker.

exactly, the ones in regular games, that's what you wanna play.
i have a huge amount of hours on both the wynn and aria 1/2-5 games, and i've often been in sessions that seem nitty (no pot above 200-300 lets say for a while), and then in the bomb pot they all go crazy, 4-5 way allins for 4 K or whatever (and 2 of them are clear folds)
Played a couple 2 sessions at V. One good, one bad.
The good one was uneventful with standard spots. Best hand was trip Js VS trip J where I hit full house on river. In for 300 out for 457.
Now the bad. Pretty card dead until I snagged AA on the button. Cutoff raises to 15 and raise to 75. He comes over the top allin for about 200. I gladly call and see I am against JJ. The J on the turn ruined my plans and I could never get anything going. I was in for 300 and out for 103. So the 2 sessions lost me $40.
Back aching I decidedto get a quickie chair massage. Now just chilling a bit before I go down get in another game. The early morning games are much better than regular morning afternoon games.

Just had another nice uptick in the cash games. It really came down to one hand. I was totally card dead and folded for an hour straight. The one time I raised to 12 with a weak suited ace the guy on my left raises and I fold.
The folding seems to go on forever when I run into KK. I raise to 12 and once the guy on my left raises to 35. All he has seen is me fold everything and look weak. But this time reraise to 100 which he folded to. But the very next hand was the big one. Utg straddles to 6. I call with A10. Somebody behind me raises to 20 and 3 guys call so I do to. Flop was beautiful with both a A and a 10. The bets started flying and it came down to me and one other. I bet 100 on the turn and he went all in. No idea what he had but I am guessing it was A something. Those 2 hands were the only ones I really played the entire session. Anyway I was in for 300 and out for 559.
Just gonna clean up now and get some dinner
Likely done with poker for the day. Wanna try some more stadium baccarat while sipping on beer.
