Coming in fresh off a trip to Atlantis Bahamas 10-26 to 11-1 now headed to Las Vegas for 13 days and 12 nights to play some small stakes poker and relax.
TR Bahamas from last week: https://twoplustwo.com/Casino-and-Cardroom-Poker/13pce/Atlantis-Bahamas-with-Caesars-Diamond-Offer
Goal: post photos of all meals, receipts, experiences and the vibe in LV
Purpose of trip: more relaxation after a long season as a multi-unit QSR operator in the Midwest. Not being able to go into the shops when staff calls out as I am to far away.
Planned poker rooms include: Planet Hollywood, MGM, Bellagio, Venetian, South Point, Resorts World (Mixed Game Festival)
As Rowdy Rhymes (Twitter Sports Handicapper) likes to say: LGTM (Lets get this money) and gable responsibly
Outside of Casino Plans: Vegas Golden Knights and 1 show
About me: middle-aged male, travel to LV 4-5 times per year for 10-14 nights at a time. This will mark my 134th trip if my math is correct. Last time out was April 2025. I play poker 3-5 times a month at local casinos (Grand Victoria (Elgin), Rivers (Des Plains), Hard Rock (Rockford), home games with an hourly of $23 since keeping records 20 years ago.
Planned Meals: Ellis Island (Ribs & CafΓ©), Wynn Buffet, Nacho Daddy, Jang (IIRC) AYCE inside PH mall, Javierβs (Aria), Grand Lux, Noodles (Bellagio) and more.
Gambol: 1/2 to 2/5NLE, 4/8 to 8/16 Limit Holdem / Omaha, Pai Gow, Black Jack, Ultimate Texas Holdem and sports betting. 95% of the trip will be strictly poker.

Day 1 & 2 Recap
Day 1 Friday
After checking in we went to grab a bite to eat. The new food court at PH was very nice with a good variety. Since I was not that hungry, went with the kids taco meal. This was some great value and meal at $5.55 that included a drink.

My wife took a nap and I played at PH for 6 hrs. They have a promo with $50 going to the high hand every 30 minutes 24/7. There were 2 games going at 3:30pm and 3 games going when I left around 10:30pm. Most players were playing strictly for the PAT (12 hours) and the tournament between Horseshoe and Planety Hollywood where you need 25 hours at each place to qualify for a tourney.
The PH poker room is very spaced out with new chairs. The only downside was that there is not a bar located in the room. The cocktail waitresses had to go downstairs for all drinks.
Ended up finishing the night with Earl of Sandwich. Had a beef and cheddar, I do not recall the number.
On a side note, Pin Up Pizza is now $5.99 a slice. Ended up grabbing a slice from here back in April of 2025 and it was $17 or something out of control.
Day 2
Arrived at the poker room at the PH poker room 9:30am and was informed the first game starts at 10am. Very tight table of OMG grinding there final hours. Ended up hitting 1 HH for $50.

Wife wanted to get her nails done as she did not have since returning from the Bahamas last Saturday night. She located a place that is across from the Silverton Casino. She was happy with the service and said the prices were the same as back home in the Midwest.

From here we went to Ellis Island. The previous location of the BBQ restaurant in the far back lefthand corner has been converted to slots and video poker. The sign directed us to the cafΓ©. We went with onion rings, club sandwich and a bowl of soup and a root beer. This was around $30 and hit the spot.

We then walked over to MGM to play poker as they are running a high hand promotion with $400 per hour from 4pm to 9pm. Normally I would walk up to the strip and around due to the area. With it still being light out, we walked the back way just past top golf and saw this beauty.

We were seated right away at the MGM poker room. With the promotion going on, the room was packed with grinders trying to get a lick. The game was 1/2 NL holdem. Most of the time there were 6-7 people to a flop with a $2 call.
Fortunately, my wife ended up hitting a 6 high straight flush for $600 and the $400 HH for the hour which made her day.

We then walked back and grabbed some ice cream and placed a few sports bets.
Chicago Bears -4.5 -109
D'Andre Swift anytime TD -104
Detroit Lions -8. -109
Over 6.5 1st Quarter Browns vs Jets -141

Found myself in an odd spot with AcAd while playing 1/2NL. I am in the little blind with the effective stack of $340. 4 limpers and I raise to $20 with only the big blind calling. Flop comes 10h 3h 6h. Hero bets $25, big blind raises to $80. Action on hero⦠what is your play?
Ouch. Any reads/vibes? I probably call and see a turn. He could easily have the Ah, or AT/KT type of hand.
TAG Asian male 60+. Table was very friendly and with conversations between players.

Yeah, call and evaluate turn. With no heart in your hand, it's already a dicey situation and your hand becomes a bluff catcher. I guess some times you could be up against Ah Tc or similar, but you could also be drawing dead. But his reaction and sizing on the turn should be a very good indication about the strength of his hand.
Where did you play this hand btw? MGM Grand maybe?
Game took place at PH. I ended up folding face up and the player to my left said, I didn't realize you were that strong and showed Kh. Said he flopped the flush but only showed one card.
If he had flopped the flush, he probably would have shown both cards π The fold is fine, though, especially vs. described villain.
Sent you a PM on the old site. I don't think the pm boxes there and here sync.
Sorry for the lack of posting. Work has been keeping me busy along with getting crushed at the tables.
I have 4 tickets to the Knights game tonight in the 200 level. If there is another couple that would like to join my wife and I please direct message me. Tickets are on me.
Game is a 7pm start. Planned on getting to stadium at 6pm
One final bump. Will arrive 7:15pm. Message if anyone is interested in going.
