This could be the turning point in Diesel's life.

Dealing for the summer should cover most of his expenses for the year and could open his eyes how much money he can save when he's making more than $5-15 an hour.

I just want to see how he reacts to actually paying taxes and when he gets into situations where he thinks he's right but is overruled on a decision.

This will either be the turning point in his life or he'll find a reason to quit.

Good luck to him!

Wow, congrats El Diesel, it should make for some good videos.

The guy saying he happened to be there and noticed auditions and thought he would try but was already dressed like everyone else. lol

Hopefully for his sake he realizes he can actually make decent money dealing and he doesn't blow it. And he can finally treat this 1/2 nl nonsense like the hobby it should be for him.

Warms my cold heart listening to El D talk about the hiring process.

He also could run into the future Mrs D. Plenty of female dealers, well tipped. I'm thinking a mid 40s Asian one.

As someone commented on the video, El D could deal a jackpot. Does the Orleans have a bad beat? Imagine him getting a 1k tip.

Me too. I mean he can deal and still play poker afterwards. Deal 8 hours, play 8 hours. Everyday. He'll be retired by the end of this year!

Congratulations Rice...

A good video explains the future predicted increase of nomads. 37% of job seekers have a college degree yet only 32% of jobs require a degree this equates to about 5% per year of workforce becoming nomadic.

Spoons should buy a Van and start Vlogging about that 'Van Life'...

I think you mean he’ll be TIRED by the end of THE DAY!

as someone who plays a lot of hi lo at the Orleans ,he thinking he doesn't need to split the pots will give some of the patrons an aneurysm .

Reminds me of when I was playing at a cardroom that was holding a WPT event. Tables and dealers were in short supply. They put some cash games in the asian games section, pai gow, etc. The dealer was very inexperienced at dealing poker, and at a NL table started stacking the pot. A player gave him the dirtiest look I've ever seen at a poker table, reached over, and smashed the stacks flat, lol.

Not a surprise he got a job offer. From his Shorts video, he's got decent dealing mechanics. He knows how the game is suppose to run. Will be a little different in the box but nothing he can't learn quickly.Honestly, I hope he makes a ton of money and decides to deal full time or at least part time. He's gonna at least 3x his poker hourly and if he goes on call which is the

His biggest obstacle will be his know-it-all attitude. If he starts telling baseball and king of queens stories in the box, he's finished.

After making all that cash without risk of loss, he'll have a hard time returning to being a nomad.

I read somewhere 30 days is the max before the hotel kicks you out. Some less

It's shaping up to be the summer of El D - THE DEALER

If he gets a roommate, it's easy to get around by just registering in the other person's name.

For sure. I've never dealt but it seems repetitive and monotonous so perfect for someone like Diesel. He hates variance and will be making way more than poker hourly. He's said if he could make like $50/hr at poker, he would play 16 hours a day everyday and retire in 1.5 years.Well now he'll have an opportunity to make $30+ an hour at no variance so it'll be interesting to s

He's going to get the urge to jump into every conversation about mediocre sitcoms, sports, etc. Baseball will be on tv a lot. He should start a keep-his-mouth shut challenge.

Orleans has a dozen promotions going on at any given time, including at least 1 bad beat. You can tell when it's getting big because there's not an empty seat in the poker room.

Dealing is a pretty solid gig tbh. You’ll out perform a good chunk of 2/5 regs and literally all tourney players

by MyrnaFTW

holy **** he got approved. l have been wanting to be a dealer for a couple years now , it’s gonna be a great summer trolling him occasionally.

You must have not put any serious commitment into it then because it should be an extremely easy gig to land, especially during wsop.

Also why troll him? He’s doing what he should be doing with his winrate, he will make more then most of these wanna be mtt live pro donks.
Good for him imo this is what trooper and pman should have done a long time ago and drop their egos

Agree.... in all seriousness people should be supporting Rice in this and not trolling him. As others have said if he can keep his attitude in check and not interject when others are speaking on topics that he considers himself a fountain of knowledge then he should be fine. Shut up and deal should be his mantra

Not trolling? But shut up and deal? Keep his attitude and deal? Its a lot to ask! 🫰[emoji2534]

Nomad will be at 2/5 next year. Book it.

Wager?

Only way we'll see Diesel at 2-5 is if he's in the box dealing.

+1

Hopefully he realizes he can actually make solid money doing this and that he'll simply never make more than poverty wages as a poker "pro". This could be an awakening for him.

And an end to this thread.

I think its a sad state of affairs if someone who is self proclaimed part of the 1% of poker players and the number 2 vlogger of all time is going to triple his income by dealing.

Hes not going to play 2-5, he doenst play because the games arent fun and he doesnt need to make more money, as he has said numerous times.

Somehow this is the only way his vlog couldve ended happy, wonder if he can keep it

Rice will be an awesome dealer. I can see him keeping the game moving quickly, making minimal mistakes, and running a tight ship.

And as much as I bag on Rice, his beard is fine. Maybe because I lived in ultra-liberal Washington, DC at the height of the hipster/classic man trend, and like 80% of single white males had beards like this, it looks somewhat normal to me.
