B v/ B w/ Foreign Player
1/3 NLHE 9 handed.
Table - I sat down an hour ago and the table sucks. I punted minus result w/ 45s from EP when I 3-bet squeezed two guys and all the money went in pre (stack sizes were whatever). My 45s beat their TT and AQo on the runout and now I'm pegged as a loose cannon.
V - foreign guy putting in huge hours at our room. Here for a few months now, plays a tighter winning game. Has a bluffing range but usually keeps it ABC. Rebuys for the max, takes the game seriously and for profit. 500$ eff stack. BB.
---
Folds to H in the SB who sees K♦ T♣ and opens 10, V calls.
Flop 20 - J♥ T♥ 3♣
H bets 15, V calls
Turn 50 - 6♠
H bets 20, V raises to 70, H calls
River ( ~400 back) 190 - 4♦
H checks, V bets 100...
Not sure what this guy is doing. Best guess is that he either thinks he has a read on you and is making some specific exploitative adjustment, or this is just a wild hail Mary bluff line he doesn't take often enough for you to have seen it.
Otherwise, your read is very off.
I think the takeaway for you is to step back and try to figure out why you called turn and river. What was your plan? Did you have reason to believe he would be bluffing with this line? If so, why?
It's great that you won, but better if you can reason your way through spots like this, to come to a decision that will win more often than lose. Based on your read alone, I think most people here would agree that your turn and river calls are going to lose more often than win.
Yeah, he didn't play the hand like a "winning player who takes his game seriously and plays for profit", he seems more like a loosey goosey button presser.
I've noticed when players "never chop" in raked games they're usually they type who are more aggro and tries to outplay everyone, it's hardly ever a tight ABC winning player that never chops.

Should probably have a think about how you are in the same posts making it clear that you don’t play BvB while also asserting certainty on how regs should play against each other in these spots. Shouldn’t confidence come from actually studying (or at least having experience in) a spot?
do you ever have a hand that can continue if you check any street? ev is likely somewhat close between bet and x for alot of these hands but you just seem to always bet them
This is combination with hero’s turn sizing makes villain’s line quite defensible. Only problem I have is with sizing.
If you’re gonna rep it, then rep it! It’s alright though, I think he’ll come back better from this. (I’m cheering for glove guy, in case that isn’t obvious.)
line is solver approved at some frequency although river sizing is too small by him.
my issue with it is people that sit down and spew off w 54ss are generally not great candidates to try to bluff, particularly when stuff misses. i get the idea otr is to fold out like the NFD or some kind of random pair + draw but Kh is a fairly bad card for that plan and i would think the guy that sits down and squeeze / calls off 54ss is more likely to barrel those hands large as opposed to block the turn but idk maybe thats too much assuming
We’ve seen banana size up and sometimes overbet blank turns on wet boards and here he’s betting 40%. I think it’s a good spot for V to attack but he should overbet the river.
Just so you know 'foreign guy' is way too vague. Based in Europe myself, I can tell you Spanish players and Romanian players have different stereotypes.
why are we donking the turn?
nvm , did i read wrong or did you edit lol
i prefer xc turn. dont mind flop cbet. river not sure.
Is it too late to change my user name to Chip Glover?
Ok to elaborate - this V doesnt chop and takes the game seriously. He tops up every hand to 500$. Wears gloves to handle his chips and plays a winning game thats value heavy (since bluffing is mostly unprofitable at our game), my image to him is not good. My range to him here is going to be very wide.
no chance anything you've ever posted here is real after this gloves comment, lol. there have definitely been other hints but this is 100% proof imo
