This sub is not a fan of being told a preflop spot is a trivial fold. Trust me. I've tried a few times.

No-one's gonna shame me out of making "fold pre" my entire reply to a hand history!

Hero had poor reads in the hand. His turn check was bad. But his preflop call and flop raise are pretty standard at low stakes.

I like setmining more than I think most do here, and I agree with your general points. At the risk of further pounding this horse into paste...

The "Tight" (Q4 lol...) BU doesn't give H sufficient IO if we're just considering her stack + OOP, & H isn't closing the action. BU wakes up with a 4! a non-trivial amount of the time here, given the read.

Tbh, here I'd prefer H sticks in the 4! vs calling, and I don't like doing that with 55. No blockers, equity-when-called isn't great, we're obviously folding to BU shove and probably SB's too, though that depends on OP's image: Better hands to 4!/f with. I grit my teeth and fold.

Make her stack the size of H's and I can get behind a call.

I now agree that it is a fold preflop. I don't see how you can average enough profit when you hit, particularly since you lose much more on average when you hit and lose than when you hit and win.
