Bike 40/80 - Kings Up
I open K8s in the CO and only the BB calls. She is a good and extremely aggressive female recreational player.
Flop J82
bluffing with j8 is bad because you unblock rivered top pair which will autocall, imo
If she thought she was bluffing, she shouldn't have called the raise.
But she didn't she was bluffing, she's just bad, bad, bad. Flop a great hand, just call. Turn a pretty bad card, ok call again. River another bad card, she can no longer even beat AK, now spring the trap! Lol.
Great to hear the 40/80 games must be very good if she's one of the better recs.

to be fair she can still definitely be called by worse. I doubt he checks back with AJ, QJ, JT, 99 and TT might still bet/call, and even A8 is pretty close.
three bet should narrow his range significantly though but she probably tilt lvled herself into a call

Itβs either this or she misread the board.
Could she be bluffing? Relying on blockers when ranges have narrowed every street cuz a bet went in on each. Def a thing in NL and PLO but seems less so in lhe. shrug the lines get blurry sometimes? Adjust priors a little but not too much?
Edit: if she raise called the river I prolly not. I'm blurry.
Players on rare occasions do bluff check raise. It doesnβt happen very often.

Sure it's possible, but her hand got worse on every street. The better value raises would have been on the turn, or especially on the flop. Overall she played the hand terribly.

Too bad Bob Ciaffone is no longer around, because he couldβve made two Card Player columns from this hand.
I hope she used some of her winnings from the epic sunrun OP mustβve witnessed to pay off some bills.
