GG poker now selling time bank cards!
Anyone see this new update? It just went live in Ontario like 1 hour ago. It might not even be live in gg global yet but its definitely coming since Ontario gg poker just copies their updates. They could be testing it here idk but they would never make a feature for such a small site only.
Tldr #1THEY ERASED YOUR TIMEBANK. You now just auto timeout or auto use see below
#2 You now get 3 time chips like in live poker
#3 When you run out of timebanks you can only gain more by purchasing them WITH REAL ****ING MONEY. Its always 1bb depending on the stake
#4 they are only 10 seconds long which is incredibly short
Ok I was mid making this post and i realized something important. Apparently the paid timebanks go to the PLAYERS not GG this kind of shocked me.
But we no longer have nearly as much timebank as before so its a huge quality of life loss imo. they need to be made longer asap.
Idk what to think its a pretty wild change I expect alot of pushback

Heres a link for all the information
i seen this the other day on WPT where Doug is playing his challenge
I was also curious where the money goes to is it the opponent which it should be or is it the site
either way i dont like the idea
Doug's not playing on ggpoker. But its not so bad i tested it. I didn't see a single rec pay the 1bb in 1k hands. or ever run out of cards 12 tabling.
They didn't mention it so I assumed the worst on some things. You do gain cards as you go and seem to have unlimited
Only a matter of time before sites start charging per login. I understand it is annoying when ppl tank but jesus christ to charge players for it. Get ****ed.
Look honey, another useless update from GG just dropped
But seriously, seems like every time a poker site drops an update or rule change like this, it’s never anything anyone was really looking forward to.
The anticipation goes from “wow can’t wait for the new update/lower rake/etc” to “oh, (enter site here) changed things again? how bad is the damage”?
I actually like the idea, even though the cynic in me understands sites want to maximize the rake they can get by any means possible. (in this case, by maximizing hands/hr)
Recreationals don't want poker nerds taking the whole timebank to think about sizing, ranges, not giving off tells etc, they want to play. They're mostly 1 tabling so it doesn't affect them nearly as much. And recreationals are the bosses, not regulars.
Less obvious opportunities for cheating. Yes, sites should offer safe and secure games, some sites like Ignition/Bodog (which btw offer pretty big timebanks) do not care at all, but not giving people much opportunity to cheat is just as important.
Less mass volumers (because they will tire pretty quickly or they will have to spend a lot of bbs from their winrates), and some filtering for all the regs who don't have their heuristics for every spot automatically ingrained, might lead to better games (?)
I think this time GG might have gotten it right.
In cash it's super annoying when you are playing against masstabling regs that autotimebanks and you need to wait for the clock to run out of time when they haven't noticed that. So I kind of get it from recs pov.
Yeah that is the next logical step from this rofl. Overreact much matey?

So it seems gg listened to the recs. Imo that's a good thing.

i know that, i was saying this is already a thing on WPT gold where doug is playing his chellenge
Nothing worse than masstabling regs time-banking every damn decision.
This makes recs happier and gives us more hands per hour = good.
I massively resent the 1% going to the site when people run it twice.
But if this 1bb is 100% spread amongst the players, this is an interesting innovation and I can't see the harm in it - though that does not mean no harm is possible.
Apologies to the OP, guess I reacted too quickly for my own good and missed the important info in the OP.
I missed the point about having three time chips and the money goes to the other players. Given those two points I have no further issue with it and see it as a positive step.
GG got this one right. Hate them or love, they listened to their players.
Heartbreaking: The worst poker site you know just made a great point

This. Cut way back on the ability to use real time assistance at the virtual table.

as a rec who often can only play one table on my phone these days, this concept rules, especially since it goes to the table. having 12-tabling regs use up their time banks all the time is boring af, i want action.
my biggest grif is I dc once a day while playing like 16 tables. and its a bug on their end I used 4 different pcs. Does this just mean I gotta eat the 16bb charge everytime I dc? lol
I play 20 tables, but even when Im down to 1 or 2 tables, I still need more than 10 seconds sometimes. This is bad no matter what, another horrific decision by GG, they say it's only for cash tables but that's clearly not the case. This will cause people to play way less tables which means way less rake for them and smaller fields in the mtts. Stupid as hell

The fact it's bad for you doesn't mean a) it's bad for their bottom line nor b) it's bad for other players. They don't mind that much if you go elsewhere.
Tankers can get ****ed. Good change. Its an even playing field as well, if you cant make a decision as fast as everyone else then thats your problem.
This might be the straw that broke the camel's back... might as well just turn the whole thing into a slot machine for the fish.
I have always tried to see the bigger picture and look after the recreational players, but this is just destroying the actual game of poker. They already have the pre-flop range autofold... rush tables... most hands insta-autofold already and we are getting in more hands than ever before... this is just ridiculous.
Also, it's not even automatic... you might be 500bb deep 5-betting a flop and literally autofold unless you press the sh*tty coin.... I soldiered on through the massive rake increases and the gamblification, but enough is enough. No more rake from me.

No it's not bad and people like you are why they're doing this to begin with.
Nobody wants to wait for you while you tank on a bunch of tables.
