They left a lot of things hanging:

Ashley - where did she go and what did she become?
A-Train - what happened to him?
Ryan - what happened to him?
Butcher - why did he become a weird tentacle monster instead of a Homelander clone again?
MM - why wouldn't they just kill him? Same with Kimiko?

More dangling plot lines than a weekend wash on the farm.

Pretty sure they left Ashley out cause she will be revealed as some badass supe after taking the V.

My bet is Homelander gets taken down in some beat down with A_train, Ashley, Butcher and all the gang

The first time Butcher took V and he and soldier boy went to fight Homelander, Butcher had speed, strength, laser eyes, etc.

He got temporary hl powers due to temporary-v.
He later took the blue stuff to try to fix his body which was severily harmed due to his tempv abuse.
Either the two different compunds reacted and formed the parasite that apparantly lives in his body and gives him tentacle powers or the blue-v itself gave him parasite-tentacle power.

Based on what it looked like was happening after she took the V, I'm thinking she's going to be some kind of Brainiac clone with maybe telekinetic powers.

Bad season overal, but the finale was pretty good. I hope they finally go all out with season 5 (and not with the overused 'shock' value sexjokes, that has gotten really boring)
