Survivor: GENERAL THREAD
I wanted to post something Survivor related but realized there's no general thread about Survivor. Each thread is about
A+ entertainment watching Probst compete. However there was no side bet - it was just a free roll. Should have been "if you all outlast me, you get the rice. The first person who drops before me, no rice, and that person loses their vote."
I'm also with Jeff - I can't tell if Christian was really furious about the twist or not.
Yeah, I was practically yelling at my TV that it wasn't a "bet", just a freeroll. I was thinking the bet should have "we take all your rice at camp if you lose, or we give you this new bag of rice if you win". Maybe too brutal, idk.
I lean towards Christian being genuinely annoyed at the twist but not actually "furious" as he appeared. I think he was mostly just trying to act furious for the cameras
Cirie is playing so far above the rim this season. Every single person thinks they're allies with her. They all come to her and discuss their preferred plan with her and then she ultimately picks and chooses which one she wants that particular vote.
I love how Emily tried to make herself the victim from Christian's misfortune. Hopefully she's next.

Yeah, at some point enough players are going to have to talk about potentially getting to F3 and facing Cirie's argument that she was the conductor and everyone else was part of the orchestra.........and none of them having a solid rebuttal to that.
Problem is right now.....who wants to be the first person to suggest Cirie?? Might be suicide. They may wait until there are fewer players and the threat of Cirie winning becomes so obvious that it safer to discuss and act on.
Two women started this episode in virtually identical positions and the show did a good job in showcasing how and why Aubry is a good Survivor player and how and why Emily is a bad Survivor player.
R.e Cirie pre season I fully expected her to finish between 5th and 7th and I still fully expect that.
While she is best social player probably in the history of the show she is also a bottom tier challenge performer. She was and is the ultimate end game shield.
I’m gona shut this down because I feel like I’m posting a spoiler at this point. But did they beat the Oscar winning edit over ya’ll’s heads hard enough this week?

I still canβt believe the cowardice of Stephenie specifically. Thereβs nothing on the line. Your whole identity is physicality
Cirie should have been taken out by this twist. Nothing would have been more perfect
Christian is horrendous at puzzles. That did not look hard. Would be funny if he actually solved it, got one in the urn, and still went home.
The Christian journey was ******** awful. That's a 4 vote swing. Absolutely ridiculous, especially since he had to reveal it to the tribe.
An extra vote if he wins plus his vote, compared to no vote if he loses plus an extra vote on himself.
Cirie is smashing so hard, I don't really care that she isn't good at challenges. Sure, immunity is (sometimes very) important, especially as the game goes on. It could definitely burn her at some point. But winning challenges isn't going to be what wins this season. Then, if someone or group decides to make a move, they'll have to consider Cirie's influence on the jury.
Cirie is great. The best thing she somehow did was hide the fact that she’s tight with Oscar.
Both Emily and Christian make the horrendous mistake of saying his name to her.

I've been on the Jonathon winners edit train since episode 2 and still haven't been able to shake it.
Though its very possible Jonathon is actually getting the runners up edit which is a trap I have often fallen into such as with Deshawn and Cassidy who I both pegged very early on in the season.
My amateur opinion is that Cirie is getting a winner's edit. I could see it being Jonathan though.
Christian on Jimmy Fallon.
Last night was interesting. A couple of thoughts/observations.
It was kind of interesting that prior to tribal when everyone was scrambling and there were several names mentioned, but nobody was really talking about Mr. Beast's beware advantage. Then at Tribal everyone is still talking about everything except the 'beware advantage", and Jeff chimes in with something like "it is amazing how this advantage has changed how you are all thinking", and everyone at tribal is like ....."no"... we don't have a clue what it is, are basically not planning for it.....and Jeff resumes with the same narrative.
The beware advantage, once announced, was a neat twist, but based on how much time there was left in the episode, it was pretty clear there was going to be a tribal, so it was pretty clear that whoever took the toss was going to win. Took some suspense out of things for the viewer.

Ok after an 8 episode run I am now finally off the Jonathan wins train
I thought that episode was screaming Aubry as the winner

Skill issue if you know how much longer the episode is
It occurs to me that with 25 years of inflation that $2 million is probably worth about the same as the original $1 million prize.
But wealth has consolidated over time. It’s become harder for the average surfer bum turned restaurant manager to find a million smackers
