General TV Discussion and Thread for Shows Without A Thread Thread
OOTV doesnt like family comedies much huh? Raising Hope and The Middle are two of the best(possibly the best outside of NBC)comedies on tv yet no threads.
Just an observation.
I might go back to liking Elon if he funded some more seasons of Firefly, and finishing off The OA.
should i watch expanse first? its on my list. Or i should read it first?
thx for the recommendations everyone, im saving those books on my kindle.
I would read it first. Books are always, with very few exceptions (this isn't one of them), much better than the movie/show.
Or just go by which one you need first? Out of shows to watch, watch The Expanse. Out of books to read, read The Expanse.
+1, books are amazing, Kvothe is such a great character, i loved the whole upbringing part through the academy, all the side twists and stories, beautiful woven together
but got to give the other Poster a point as well:
dying to read the 3rd one, see it all come to a conclusion
Landman on Paramount Plus may just be Taylor Sheridan’s pinnacle. Billy Bob Thornton being himself, smoking hot daughter in bikini, John Hamm being a morally ambiguous badass all set around Texas oil rigs? Don’t yet know whether this can sustain multiple season arcs, but it’s fun as hell while it lasts.
Super ****ing good 4 episodes in
Say Nothing on Hulu is fun
Silo's new season is so MEH. The book is so good, how are they making such boring episodes.
The casting for the the people in mechanicals is horrible. Meadows is also horrible.
I only enjoy IT's head, sims and the sherrif. Hopefully now that solo is out, he'll be as good as this actor can give.
Agreed that it's been pretty boring so far (haven't watched yesterday's episode yet) but I don't know how you can complain about casting then say you enjoy Sims!? Common is far and away the worst actor on the show
Hell yeah

I just meant physically he fits well
meadow should play in nursing home shows. I've seen dead rats with more energy.
My issue with reading the Expanse first was I found was the main character, James Holden, was way different to my idea of him from the books. I saw him as an older, kinda grizzled, veteran captain, not the handsome young guy who played him.
Still, show's very good, just took me a while to get used to it.
Yeah, that was only real problem with the show, too, at first. But it excellent hard science fiction. Great show.
Is the Suneater books more hard sci-fi or more fantasy?
Without Spoilering one could say:
Galaxy wide wars between races, with gods involved, love stories, drama … all of it on an epic scale
cool, ordered the first book
I like Dune:Prophecy. Three episodes in
The Acolyte - looked cool but the story and characters were bleh.
I liked One Day for the genre. But you have to want to watch painful romantic stuff. But they did nail it.
Not sure why I like Landman. Maybe mental illness, lol. It's such American trash. But I must watch. I think it's just Billy Bob.
Yep Billy Bob and the eye candy are over half of what makes it good.
