I played 3 of the 4 giveaway periods and also won the sum of one US dollar.

having said that, the 5/10/20 PLO has been absolutely bonkers. One player was playing about 70/40/15. In an hour and a half that I played with him, he went from 10k to 1.5k to 46k.

1/2/4 is no different. A guy on a player-created WPTGold Facebook page posted a 6-way AIPF at an 8-max table and said that it happened 7 times within an hour. Just multiple $2K-$3K pots AIPF.

I won 2 whole US dollars over 2 giveaway sessions, I guess it's safe to assume ''winning'' players aint getting ****? No one I know has gotten more than 1 chip.....

25 over 3 of the drops

Wonder how much this is doing for the games being good. It's not very enticing during play. I've generally stopped paying attention to it

Anybody in the 200 NL streets have an opinion on the reg player Sigma? Dudes literally got 550k hand of NL in probably 6-8 mo grinding only 4 tables. I’m imagining him in his underpants wearing a diaper and chugging ensures out of a sippy cup.

Funny you mention him because I noticed that yesterday and was thinking how many hours a day it would take to hit that level. There was a player I had never seen before playing during the drop last night with more hands than Sigma. Gie also has a lot of hands. but both him/her and Sigma have been playing since day one. I think it is highly doubtful they are bots either.

As I was typing this, I won my first dollar. BOOM!

My guess is that ClubWPtgold has 0 personnel on their security team. If you aren’t winning money rhen you should clear out. It’s been way more than enough time to know if you’re beating the cheaters and house bots or not. There will not be any rakeback to save breakeven players. Gtfo while you can

ClubWPT Gold needs to add a robust rakeback program.

I prefer some type of splash pot program.

I always played in the mornings to mid afternoon, and that account was there like 100% of the time. I would sometimes wake up at like 4am because I couldn't sleep, and he would already be there at like the 4 tables that were running and still be playing until mid afternoon. I just assumed that guy took like short naps and drank red bull to grind 12 hours a day everyday. Never suspected that account as being a bot though. Aggressive early but usually had it when the pot got big - I definitely paid him off way too much.

There was a glitch though (pre update to add the reveal hands) where it was trivially easy to get around the table limit. I would usually play like 6-10 tables during my session so my guess is a lot of the people with tons of hands were also aware of this. After they did that update though it no longer worked (unless there is a new glitch I am not aware of).

lol what? how was that possible? i think i played that guy few times, but didn't gave me bot vibes either. 500k hands is not that much if you played HU, only fr tables would be kinda wild, agree

Never seen him on the HU tables. I think hes just grinding 80 hours a week for 6 mo straight playing a very simple strategy. Reminds me of the old days when people were doing rakeback races on stars.

Anyone have issues getting their email address "confirmed"? I've tried 10 times and have not received the code once.

Huge update for Cali players. WPTGold added this to their FAQ 14 hours ago.

https://support.clubwptgold.com/portal/e...

ClubWPT Gold is making necessary changes to comply with CA AB 831 and continue serving our California players.

Starting on January 1, 2026, we’re introducing California Game Days. When you’re playing from California, you can win redeemable Chips in our ring games and tournaments for up to a maximum of nine calendar days per month.

Chips won outside of the nine-day window are still credited to your account as unredeemable Chips.

You can play unredeemable Chips into redeemable Chips during the nine-day window in any future month.

All of our other training features will remain the same and be available 24/7. Players can still access the Hand Analysis tool as often as they want each day.

These changes take effect on January 1, 2026, and apply only to players physically located in California when playing on ClubWPT Gold.

This is interesting and unprecedented... can't wait to see what others have to say about it

Here is an article on it, https://pokerfuse.com/latest-news/2025/1...

It sounds like if I win 1000 on my 10th day of play at an 11 chip tourney, all 1000 have to played in a subsequent month to make them exchangeable.

Sticking with the training site subscription and chips makes sense IMO, but "California Days" will hurt CA players who remain.

Very lame, and I can't imagine it holding up in court in any case. Sticking with the training site and chips makes sense, "California Days" hurts CA players who remain.

Correct, from what I gather they are trying to operate as "occasional" in California due to the wording in the Cali sweepstakes ban. The ban was intended to block gambling sites but still allow businesses to run the "occasional" sweepstakes games like the McDonalds Monopoly game.

Says a lot about WPTGold's estimation of Californian liquidity that they were willing to put resources in putting this together. We're not just talking about writing up the regulations they're implementing and posting the article - this is real developer time to program this all in.

That said, I 100% agree with the notion that this will not hold up in court. They flat out state on their site that they are NOT using the dual currency model that is being outlawed which I think is ridiculous. Imo, buying hand analysis tokens/coins/units/whatever and receiving chips as well is not far enough away from the regular dual currency model.

Goes without saying I hope I'm wrong for the players' sakes.

Hopefully but feels doubtful this works longterm. Of course they need to try something though. California is a huge market.

Anyone in CA able to "exchange" chips right now? My button is greyed out.

I feel like they put CA players on distribution mode a few days back to ensure our liquidity stays in the pool because the runouts over the last few days have been absolutely comical.

I did this afternoon. Honestly after that announcement I snap withdrew everything. I don't believe them when they say our money is safe either.

Agree that what they are attempting to do is suspect and won’t hold up.

Why couldn’t blackjack sites do the same ‘training’ model as well?

The one thing that does make me a bit uncomfortable on the site is when it crashes for a few seconds and when I come back my hand is folded.

This is the top priority thing that needs to be fixed on the site IMO.

They should add at least 60 seconds to a minute if someone times out and there is more than 10 to 20
BB in the pot.

I agree. I'm in Mass but I still got money on there and I need to get it out. I honestly was never impressed with the site. I signed up for WPT Gold and Global Poker and Global is far superior in every way besides player pool. And yet I don't even trust the player pool at Gold. It's like 500x the player pool for each stake. How is that even possible? I played a few MMTs before deciding on global and now I have to go play the minimum on Gold just to get access to my money. Its annoying.

I admire the idea behind an actual training site to get better at poker but it was clearly just intended as a loophole and it looks like their window is getting smaller and smaller. So crazy to me that the US and most states would rather have no money from licenses and taxes rather than allow online poker given the state of sports betting in the US. It's insanely hypocritical.
