OOT Super Bowl Squares 2025

OOT Super Bowl Squares 2025

Mod note: OP has been edited to show the final payouts for the $200 board which was changed to $100.

Like it or not, it's that time again.

2023 - https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/3...7...
2024 - https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/34/ot...

$10 - 125/250/125/500(final score)
$25 - 300/650/300/1250(final score)
$50 - 625/1250/625/2500(final score)
$200 - Pays on every score change & final score

Even though it didn't fill at $250 and I had to drop it to $125, the "every score change" board seemed to be mostly well received last year, so we're going to run it back. Only this year I'm dropping it to $200. If it doesn't fill, it'll either run with blank squares or again be cut in half - depending on how many sell.

Here's how this board works - every time points go on the board, somebody wins. If a field goal is the first score, whoever has 3-0 wins. If the next score is a touchdown by the other team, 3-6 wins. When the extra point gets kicked, 3-7 wins. Easy enough? Good. The end of quarters or halftime don't matter in this pool. Final score does. Whoever has the final score right will be the big winner. Instead of having one set amount for each score change, or a set amount for the final score winner, and risking a high or low scoring game taking away from the spirit of this pool, I'm going with a sliding scale.

of score changes

1-5 = $1200 per change
6-8 = $800
9-12 = $600
13-25 = $400
25+ = everything split evenly

Here it is broken all the way down
Score changes = Amount per score change / Amount to final winner(in addition to the money from the final score change)
1 = 1.2k per change / 8.8k to the final
2 = 1.2k / 7.6k
3 = 1.2k / 6.4k
4 = 1.2k / 5.2k
5 = 1.2k / 4k
6 = 800 / 5.2k
7 = 800 / 4.4k
8 = 800 / 3.6k
9 = 600 / 4.6k
10 = 600 / 4k
11 = 600 / 3.4k
12 = 600 / 2.8k
13 = 400 / 4.8k
14 = 400 / 4.4k
15 = 400 / 4k
16 = 400 / 3.6k
17 = 400 / 3.2k
18 = 400 / 2.8k
19 = 400 / 2.4k
20 = 400 / 2k
21 = 400 / 1.6k
22 = 400 / 1.2k
23 = 400 / 800
24 = 400 / 400
25 = 400

Last year there were 13 score changes and the average has been about 14 over the past 10 years.

I'm sure there will be questions, so ask away.

Thanks again for running this, ec. Always fun to have a reason to watch.

Keeping my streak alive of not cashing. At least two years ago I had a sweat, when I had Iggles 8, Chefs 5 going into OT. Not even close again.

contrats to the winners and thanks again for running ec!

Congrats to all winners!

2 pt conversion failure costing me the 3rd quarter square just about sums up a truly terrible day for me.

Other side of the coin here: that failure took some of the sting out of my terrible day.

One of your 2's helped me tremendously, and so for that I'd like to say thanks.

FYP

Well, at least I got to watch the Chiefs get absolutely slaughtered. I feel kinda bad about how much I enjoyed them playing like a JV team.

Also, great job as always ec. When is the next opportunity to lose money?

I think everything is correct but please let me know if you spot any errors. With 17 score changes, the $100 board will pay out $400 per change and $3200 to the final. Nice hit letter-letter-number-number-number!

I'll get to work on payouts today. Like always, because of transfer limits, it'll likely take a couple of days to get through it. Congratulations to all the winners, big and small. For the rest of us....womp womp womp.

Update: That actually took a lot more of the sting out of it than I thought. Still a loser, but more tolerable than I thought.

Glad you could put it to good use, but you don't want to try to use them too often. I think the best squares day I ever had was boosted tremendously by a 2,2 that hit at halftime. Philly/NE IIRC.

ec, thanks again for all your work!

March Madness squares always a ton of fun. 0-for-lifetime in that too. :(

I want to say our friend cokeboy ran a couple of varying levels last year, but not sure I've got that right.

Wow. Thought I had bricked everything. What a pleasant surprise.

Grats to all the winners and many thanks to ec!

I'll be posting the NCAA squares pool and sweet 16 pools thread next week.

$25 squares pool, but the sweet 16 pool has $20/50/100 levels, capped at 8 entrants each.

thanks for nothin ec!

Thanks for running ec! Got a slight rebate. You forgot to take your $6.25 out, lol.

Haha, you took enough of a hit without me pulling my commission out. This one's on me!

Received from ec. Thanks! Much appreciated.

Vegas money! Trip planned for August.

Also received, ec! Thanks!

Received! Thanks ec, some day we'll meet for that drink in LV...
Thanks for doing this every year.

Received, thanks again!

Thanks for doing this every year.

I'll be visiting in August if you'll be around. Would love to meet some folks from here.

I have no qualms with ec. However, I blame AquaSwing for his number generating gaffe. Would've for sure won all the money otherwise. (And whoever generated the $50 pool. I also blame him.)

Also MM brackets. Don't forget about those. I know GoldenBears/Zimmer usually get these fired up at the beginning of March.
