Netflix "Watch Instantly"

Netflix "Watch Instantly"

I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream a movie over the internet. The selection of movies/shows is subpar, but it's free baby! Well, free as in no extra charge. You can watch 1 hour for every dollar/month your subscription is and it doesn't affect your queued/shipped movies at all. Minuses are that you have to be running Windows and Internet Explorer, but the quality is great! I have a garbage laptop, but it looks the same as a DVD to me and it hasn't skipped/paused/hiccuped once so far.

The Studio is tonight on Apple with the first 2 episodes at 6pm PST.

Season 3 which is the final season of Bosch: Legacy is scheduled for Thursday but likely will drop at 5pm Wednesday with the first 4 episodes, followed by 2 per week, total of 10.

Mobland is Sunday on Paramount+ with the first episode.

Do you think the sick dangerous stuff may actually be 'magic' or slightly misleading and its not actually dangerous?

it's not magic or camera trickery

it's just an insane amount of preparation

there's a reason why his tv specials were only every few years, because it'd take a year of preparation and training in order to be able to do those feats - something normal people do not have the inclination to do

i haven't seen it yet, but it feels like this show is flipping the script whereas instead of seeing the final product in some grand feat, we instead are shown the behind the scenes of how he goes about learning this stuff

in this he does things like swallowing and then later regurgitating a frog, which is unharmed by the event - stuff that if you spent months learning, you too could learn how to do

David Blaine is easily in my top 5 ranking of the world's most punchable faces.

It's pretty funny watching his OG specials to now and seeing the pretty drastic change in personality. Much more personable and charismatic now. Also way better than that bitch criss angel

Broken YouTube Link

I cried laughing first time I saw this...the guy's face

yeah that's a legit funny sketch series

Just started the first episode and all I could think was the street performers in Brazil are basically Brazilian Jackass.

Then out comes Brazilian Steve-O

On the topic of crazy stunts, last night I watched Skywalkers: A Love Story.

Documentary following a young Russian couple who do 'rooftopping' - basically getting up to the top (often illegally) of very high structures, where they film, take photos, do acrobatics.

I really enjoyed it, although lots of sweaty palm moments!

I thought about watching that, but since they're Russian, I figure there was a good chance they end up dying. And I couldn't handle that kind of stress.

They don't! But it was a certainly a nervous watch, and I was very much expecting a postscript at the end saying something bad...

Also, as of checking Wikipedia this morning, both seem still alive.

1st episode of Adolescence and things going ok. Then we get to the police interview.

****ing horrible. That interview should last all of 1 minute. No comment, no comment, no comment . . . see video and be damn glad no comments were made.

Right, but which would make for one terrible tv show, especially one that aims for a single camera shot per episode :

Finished Adolescence after posting, and meh. Was critiquing on a prestige scale when the show isn't.
Nice gimmick with the one shot episodes, but beyond that, not an exceptional show. Like the Tom Hanks movie Here. Not much there beside the single perspective.

I thought the exact same thing and also thought, what a horrible lawyer that must be, but maybe they do things differently over there.

You guys sound like you GOTTEM.. but though clearly dumb isn't it perfectly within the plot to see a stubborn working class dad and shaken up 13 year old (who thinks he's smart) defend themselves when pressed in an interrogation against the lawyer's audible advice. Similarly, I thought the explanations by police and teachers of teenage (online) discourse/behaviour were quite meh but not internally incoherent as they probably would be very meh in such situations.

Only thing I really didn't buy is

Spoiler

how they unpack the kid, and how talkative he gets with the female therapist. Just seems like they lazily chose to make his (subconscious) incel drives and what is basically the heart of the show textually explicit, because it was hard to convey otherwise - which is of course the entire point of cinema.

Though Stephen Graham kind of carries it, I don't see why you guys are so disappointed, unless you went into it fully aboard the netflix hypetrain. The single shot thing isn't as enchanting as True Detective S01E04, but they executed it decently and it probably bodes well for the future of the kid actor who already looks mostly okay in what seem to be very long takes.

The nuts as far as single shot episodes goes, is Mr Robot's 5th episode in season 3 : "eps3.4_runtime-error.r00". Sure it is deceptive and there was some editing done, but remains God damn aesthetically pleasing!

He's the UK equivalent of a public defender, so it's a crapshoot between somewhat competent and totally in over his head.

Plus, this isn't London AFAIK. Looks like a country town. I think everyone is in over their head.

HBO cult doc love has won was like a mockumentary and very terrifying when they showed scenes of you know what

insane to even cal it acult when they are sao far gone they just did a bunch of drugs and listed to an alcholic

Just finished bingeing original Dexter, plus the two spin offs. Phenomenal.

Adolescence was awful.

1923 is pretty awful. Harrison Ford, I love him, but it's time to retire man. Get some flying hours in. Spend some time with the grandkids. My intention was to start with 1883 (rewatch), 1923, rewatch Yellowstone to get to the final season which I haven't seen. Damn, I'm going to finish 1923 and just skip to the last season of Yellowstone. I'm really ready to be done with that whole universe.

Next up I think I'll do a Bosch rewatch to get into Bosch Legacy since it's ending soon.

A little late on this, but I thought the Severance s2 finale was outstanding and redeemed the whole season for me.

Now just have to wait another five years for s3.

Adolescence = ‘awful’ in what sense?

My friends described it as a sad boring story that brings nothing to the table except for a filming gimmick and above average acting.

Doesn't sound like entertainment to me.

In mark's defense, that probably happens all the time in Texas.
