Netflix "Watch Instantly"

I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream

That’s good, let’s get all the terrible ideas out first.

Binged all of Untamed today. I thought it started a lot better than it finished.

by Mark_K

I also like Untamed. lolol at it being filmed in British Columbia...

2 eps in. liking it so far, not liking the downhill comments but will stick with it, primarily to keep my eye out for various BC scenes as I live right by some of the filming area.

Untamed was watchable but, for me ,it is not at the level of Dark Winds or Longmire for outdoor detective dramas. I love the real Yosemite Park. The colors in this fake TV version (canada) seemed washed out and some of the outdoor scenes look like fake outdoors to me. Also the acting is bland throughout. Unexpected twist at the end though.

not sur eif its mention in this topic but THE PIT was actually really solid

Countdown on Prime. Thought I had a whole season (or more) to "binge" (as I do, one episode/day for multiple days until complete). I guess it is new this season. Ran out of episodes and now I'm jonesin'. I'm enjoying it at least. Probably won't win any prestigious awards for writing or acting, but it's fun, fairly violent. Set your expectations and turn off the critical mind.

Doing the same with Untamed

I didn't find it slow down as it went. I liked it thru the first 5 eps. I didn't like the last ep. The stories built up throughout the first 5 eps, that were good at the time, basically just ended up as unresolved filler. The twist was dumb. More on that in spoilers

Very difficult to predict the twist. I don't think anyone watching the show, even knowing there was a twist, would think it was that guy. Made little sense.

The twist I did like is that it was the wife that had the guy killed. That was interesting. But then it's just left unresolved. She tells her new lover. Cool. Maybe we see more on that in s2?

Cliffs: Good show, bad ending.

Did the same with Countdown. 8 seems to be the sweat spot so I waited. But nope… 13 eps for the season. Ep 8 did have a hell of a cliffhanger though! Could have easily been a season ender.

Trailer didn't really do much for me in terms of comedy, but I'll definitely check it out since The Office is my favorite non-drama series.

unteamed just seems cheap and just dry.
only 2 eps in. will say dept q is way way better for sure

With all the water cooler talk about the Hunting Wives, I watched episode one. I wouldn't say it was amazing but it was interesting enough to get me to continue.

Am I dumb and I am supposed to recognize that woman getting chased as Sophie? Or is it supposed to be ambiguous? No spoilers please.

It was a fun dumb show. I’ll tune in for a second season.

As for the woman being chased, ambiguous.

Hunting Wives Episode 4!!! So hot.

This is a show you can't watch on an airplane. People will think you are watching porn. lol

Normally I don't watch anything on this horseshit wasteland app except beloved WWE but I made an exception and watched KPop Demon Hunters.

Better even than I thought it was going to be, music was great, jokes were funny. It didn't mind that I wasn't paying attention during some of the second act, it's not a ton of plot points to keep track of.

I'm probably going to watch it again for the music. Highest recommendation.

Speaking of soundtracks, I just watched Atomic Blonde on Prime (with annoying commercials). Had it in my watchlist for years (??) but refused to pay extra to watch it. Finally saw it was 'free'. Way better than anticipated graphic novel adaptation of espionage in Berlin during the fall of the Berlin Wall. Violent, pretty graphic, highly recommended. But the soundtrack is top notch! I was in my twenties by 1989, and remember the songs well. Felt like John Le Carre crossed with MTV's 120 Minutes.

I actually like the 2021 Wrong Turn I'm viewing on Showtime. Not many jump scares, just a silly story with a hot main actress.

I would have been happier if the ended S1 at E8, and they completed S2 well past what is apparently the end of S1 (E13)? Another cliffhanger, case in shambles. Major character in limbo. Ugh. OK, I'm over it. Hope we don't have to wait too long for resolution.

I wonder if they found out late during the production that they got an additional order. It was such an awkward jump.

Black Rabbit and Haunted Hotel are 2 of the better Netflix originals that have been released in a while, at least for what I remember.

I’m excited for Black Rabbit. It’s my next watch. I just finished Hightown, which was decent but nothing special. It’s a Starz original.

I'm also looking forward to Black Rabbit. In the middle of a GoT rewatch now, then Black Rabbit, then it should be the perfect time to get started on Stranger Things just in time to catch the final episodes in Nov/Dec.

The Black Rabbit is enjoyable but it doesn't make sense to my wife and me.

The dude is running a very successful restaurant and bar in NYC and can't come up with 140k? I own a small business, and my wife does finances for a different small business, and it doesn't make sense to us at all. It's not a lot of money.

It's like when Dr Evil says he is going to hold the world hostage (or whatever he was going to do) for one million dollars.

obviously not running it well. I think the premise was he was living beyond his means, skimming money and was expecting money from the sale of his mom's house that fell through, fancy condo, kids private school, etc. plus he wanted the books to look good when pursuing the other restaurant.

Ep 1 of Black Rabbit was great

From the creator of Peaky Blinders and starring Jack Gleeson (Joffrey).

Dublin, 1868. The Guinness family patriarch is dead, and his four children — each with dark secrets to hide — hold the brewery's fate in their hands.

I'm watching Dept Q - If you liked Slow Horses, this show is for you!

Also watching The Residence. I knew nothing about this comedic murder mystery but I'm really enjoying it. The recreation of the White House is super impressive. It's worth just watching the opening 10 minute White House tour. Throw a quirky Columbo style detective in the mix and I'm entertained!

yeah im enjoying the residence 2 episodes in. This is helping with my better call saul withdrawal
