My local Taco Bell has a kill switch on the soda machine. The cashier has a little remote to activate/deactivate it.
So many people steal soda...
Older fountain systems have a key that will disable it. Since covid, a lot of the local spots turn off the public machine until it's needed. Maybe they leave it on for lunch/dinner rushes?

Sequim is a Costco sized town, and yes I can confirm they chopped down every single evergreen tree here. Very little shade. I don't get the aversion to planting native evergreens!
The pin number req is a direct consequence of reducing staffing IMO, mainly front register. Fortunately I've grown used to water with my ff, no need to involve petty larceny
There's also a decent Asian buffet 20 mins from Sequim in Port Angeles. Strip mall Asian buffets are my guilty pleasure. Ones that have soft serve machines are the best
Edit: I donated a hundo to the modern Klallam people yesterday. Their casino is pretty nice. No free soda machine though, damn soda stealing locals

That's in WA? Weird, maybe they're sick of looking at evergreens. I'm in AZ and they planted a bazillion evergreens here.

Found this at my local grocery store. For something that's packaged it turned out to be really good.
Double stacks were a staple of my teen years. Per my last Wendys tr, 2x stacks now are a couple of little hockey pucks of beef in a bread sandwich. This is in Washington state, maybe your wendys suck less?

I also got a chicken sandwich, albeit a large piece, was kinda meh and a bit underwhelming.
My friend said that the Popeye’s chicken sandwich is overrated, claiming they increased the price and now it’s worse. Hard to argue with him. He said his favorite FF chicken sandwich is chick fil a’s spicy deluxe (with pepper jack cheese) which I’ve never had.
I’ll be sure to order it for Science the next time I’m near a CFA.
Price is up ~ 10% on the sandwich but it can’t be about value if you are paying 30% more for CFA.
Rick is advertising a gold sauce for their chicken I will be tasting.
