New fast food discussion/review thread

I like the current $5 meal war that is still going on. I would've thought McDs would have ended theirs, and everyone else would disappear too. But no, still here.

Wendy's and Taco Bell still have the best ones though.

Only a 10 minute walk from my place. It is a daily test of fortitude.

In one of my uncommon "don't feel like cooking anything" phases lately.

Last night, was Arby's 2-for-$5 Reg Roast Beefs. Just fine, what you'd expect.

Tonight, went to Wendy's to try the Saucy Nuggets and take advantage of a free medium fry coupon. Went with the spicy garlic parm sauce.

The nuggets come in a little plastic tub, which they shake up (I guess to get the sauce on 'em good). They're also breaded.

Opening it, could smell the garlic immediately. Wasn't too spicy. I think they might've over-garlicked and under-spiced the sauce. Breading doesn't add anything to the nuggets In fact, I'd say it was a slight detraction.

Overall meh, probably won't try again.

Yeah I haven't tried Wendy's saucy nuggets and dont intend to. I almost tried the spicy garlic parm myself on my last trip ----> but as you received, I totally expected an overly garlic experience.

almost positive the sauce isn't spicy they just use the spicy nuggets

rbk may be right. I couldn't tell if the bit of heat was from the breading or sauce.

I tried the saucy nugs. Got their spiciest option. It was meh. Not very spicy, and the breaded nuggets don't blend well with the sauce. Back to the Biggie Bags for me.

I've only tried them once. Had a weird texture that didn't resemble chicken at all. If I could get something that size that tasted like a MickeyNugget, I'd be all over them.

Went to Rick’s today. Not sure if it was store specific but they had buy one double cheeseburger get one for $1.

Also same thing for 6 pc nuggets, small fries, McChicken.

I had a $3 app deal FoFish that was exquisite and two double cheeses (no ketchup no pickle and add mac sauce for 45 cents each. They were NOT light on the mac sauce!)

the Mcds where I live have had that deal for a long time but it's only for McDoubles and McChickens. that is great if u indeed got that deal for double cheeseburgers.

Think I'm putting my local Qdoba on the no go list after another unsatisfactory visit. The place is just a mess. Out of bowl lids. While at least they weren't out of guac this time, they have downsized the scoop to the smallest size imaginable. Pathetic.

I was going to get Wendy's yesterday, but the redhead stripped every offer out of the app except $3 off $15. I wasn't *that* hungry. Looks like the usual offers have been added back today.

I also quit Qdoba myself, the last few times very small amount of guac.

The McDoouble (almost the same) for that deal is actually on the menu. Same with McChicken.

I have never, and I mean never, seen a promo deal for the fish filet, other than combined with Big Mac or QPC. It's like 2 for $10, so not a screamin deal.

Got my free 2x qpc. That's a large fry for $1.49, seems bigger than the paper sleeves in Seattle

This might be a smaller town thing, but it seems like every young teenager in Aberdeen WA decided to hit up the MCDs that night - took 15 minutes to get my food. So many people ordering at the counter. The restaurant was basically packed.

I'm a Popeyes fan and I've tried a few things on their menu and they've been good. I recently tried the chicken nuggets and I will say they were a bit of a let down. The other items I've had have been way better like the chicken fingers, chicken sandwiches and chicken pieces. I definitely don't recommend.

I got some Culver's ice cream yesterday, good but a little pricey.

Heh, I did notice they looked down on me calling their curds "cheesy lumps".
