New fast food discussion/review thread

OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

KFC Original Recipe Tenders

How long have they had these?

They're wonderful.

Man I used to love KFC, then as I grew up their chicken shrank, and competition grew

Original recipe still one of the GOAT, though from a value perspective hard to beat supermarket chicken or even gas station tendies if you can find them

I had originally recipe recently for the first time in many years. It was soooo oily and salty I really hated it. The nostalgia is gone.

Extra crispy is very good

A shame, but not surprising. I now remember as a teen passing up KFC for Albertsons chicken.

Though I much appreciate the rise in gas station tendies. Paired with some potato wedges and a tub of ranch, it's a welcome distraction on a road trip.

Plus, cold tendies are still pretty good. The last gas station I got them from was out in the boonies and rather sketchy. Think mid 80s porn store vibes, a concrete box with a couple windows

Which makes it even better when you find out they have tendies!

Of salty foods, there is nothing like fried chicken to put my body in sodium overload mode. Guzzling water for the next 12 hours.

It's also a favorite food of mine. (In moderation)

Is there skin on them? I quit getting original because there always seemed to be a lot of skin, and therefore fat, on the chicken. Other places, like Carls, are skinless.

There's also Banquet frozen. It's prob 70-80% as good imo.

I had four free CFA chicken sandwiches in app expiring today. I show up at 4pm with chairs in the air and restaurant closing up. The app didn't let me make a mobile order. The manager opened a register and took the order manually. He said I'll need to wait 10 minutes because they'll need to restart the cooker.

CFA

Man, your value posts are great but this is a really d1ck move imo

How so? The manager offered to do it. I didn't even ask.

He told you they had to restart the cooker, that’s his way of saying I have to restart cleaning processes for your one sandwich, he is being polite/doing what policy says, but staff def hates you

The children of Jesus hate no man.

lol

btw, It was four (free) sandwiches!

CFA has great service, but if you're on the east coast, Huey Magoo's is so much better.

PDQ is pretty good too. They probably have the best salads of the 3.

IT WAS HIS PLEASURE!

LOL Mark the guy was probably cursing under his breath when he got out of sight... hopefully you praised him to corporate. If not, I would highly recommend doing so.

I once did that for a (very helpful) manager at CFA and when I saw him the next time, he had heard back from corporate with my glowing review of him. He was so happy and said that it "made his day".

I gave them a heartfelt "Thank you" and a smile. They love me there! I even ate the food in my car so they could mop the floor.

Sure, my family.

Sure, my family.

Is that what you call your stomach?

No, I call that "my souvenir". Something I picked up from my summer Japan trip. :p

I def like pdq, however they changed their ranch dressing (made daily) recipe like a year ago, and it went from the best most amazing ranch dressing to the most rancid **** on earth

Buff bleu is amazing
