Quick update... he was limping on his front leg starting Thursday. Took him to the vet. Nothing suggests trauma. Lyme test was negative. A more extensive tick panel is coming back on Tuesday. As far as I understand... if that comes back negative, then it's bad arthritis (he is an old and active dog) or something much worse.
ugh! The anxiety of waiting for a diagnosis is never fun.

He's in better spirits/mobility today and of course the sumbitch nearly lost his limp while getting to the vet.
My guy jumped out of a (stationary) car window after a deer with a torn CCL. When motivated, they can move.
Still nothing but negative tick results. It doesn't help that the vet has called me back from 3 different numbers and google has blocked two of them.
He's still in good spirits.
And yes, when motivated he doesn't feel pain. Obviously he's a little depressed, but at least the anti inflammatory has him more comfortable.

My uneducated opinion is that he’s just old and arthritic. My guy has been favoring his front left when he first gets up, so last month at the vet I got him some “doggy ibuprofen” (Rimadahl or something like that) and it’s made a difference.

Rimadyl is correct. He's an active dog and arthritis is definitely a consideration. I doubt that's what it is. Hitting multiple joints in a month is a bit odd to me.

Happy Update: Unbeknownst to me, Winston's scan showed clean a couple months ago, and he's officially off chemo. He's got some lumps and fatty deposits, but nothing serious. A little palsy in his hind legs if he stands too long, but he runs and barks much more often now.
Still chowing down on chicken livers.

Good news, NhlNut! Those look like two very good dogs!
He had a sarcoma but the cancer hadn't spread. Problem is likelihood of it coming back. And with the size of it (and some corresponding number) the average survival rate is about a year.
But....the sutures are out. And last week he wasn't eating at all, throwing up constantly, etc. I thought he was dying. He has 100% bounced back and seems completely fine.
Not sure if anyone remembers the Monty saga but it has been 3+ years. Little guy is still trucking
