It seems like there's a lot of conflict and unhappiness in the world these days. It gets me down. One of the few things

how funny…cheers!

Definitely needs an elf costume next year, but still adorable!

Making snow angels.

Current dog has never seen real snow. Might have to correct that this winter.

Got this yesterday, for my work party today. I was told I can bring Parker in with me. Everyone sees him on video calls, and they want to see him in person.

That is adorable!!!

Christmas wishes -- we threw that ball for her many times today!

I came back from vacation and within a day noticed a sore on my dogs tail, which opened up fairly quickly. He does have a small cyst on his tail (which he's had for years). They are trying to figure out if that is the source or how bad the infection is. Depending on those results it might mean surgery to remove the cyst or maybe even his tail.

He's doing fine and is in good spirits, but will be spending the holidays with a cone on his neck. But not a great two days.

Please keep sharing holiday pics with the pets. It really helps.

Sorry to hear that Randall. Is his cone green and can you string lights in it?

Here's a couple from 2020...

It's clear and he has no idea of spatial recognition, so I will be remodeling my house early next year.

Sorry to hear about his cyst. I hope the cone therapy allows it to heal. Did they put him on antibiotics or anything?

It must be the season. My mini schnauzer has been struggling with a couple of problems--one recent and one ongoing for a few months now. The recent one resulted in weight loss which has affected his strength and balance. Instead of running through the house with cat-like control, he's been glancing off walls, furniture, and my ankles. I hope the swelling goes down or I may be sporting cankles soon. Figuring out what is wrong has been challenging for the vet, and I'm now awaiting results of the labs for "if this doesn't show something, I'm completely stumped." At least he's on some fairly expensive (aren't they all?) meds that seem to be helping a lot for the few days he's been taking it.

Not saying it's the same thing, but I posted earlier in this thread that my dog was diagnosed with vestibular disease after I took him to the ER fearing a stroke. He's had one episode since, which I immediately recognized and tried to mitigate.

I hope it's nothing bad for your dog.

And I don't know what expensive is anymore for pet care. The last time they apologized at how expensive it was and I thought it was very reasonable.

Sorry, that's the end of my rant unless I have a good or bad update in a few days, but I am not taking a pic of him in the cone!

EDIT: A year or so ago my vet switched payment to paying in the exam room as opposed to the lobby, which I personally like. They asked me to tap to pay and my dog tapped the handheld device. It was so cute.

Damn! That's a great idea. I wish our vet would do that. The lobby desk can be a madhouse at times.

Our working diagnosis (pending labs) is exocrine pancreatic insufficiency which is easily treatable by adding enzymes to his food. $60/4 oz of powder. I'm not sure how long that will last--probably well over a month. Well worth it if it fixes the issue. If that turns out not to be the diagnosis I will be shocked and question the accuracy of that test and all the previous ones that ruled out more likely problems. Possibly also will require periodic B12 shots. So far, so good with the enzymes. I suspect we'll continue those regardless of the labs--at least for a while.

Likewise, his other problem has a working diagnosis of diabetes insipidus--by exclusion of other diagnoses. He's a great test taker--aces them all! Four tiny pills a day at ~$1/pill. Again, worth it if effective--but ouch!

Yes, but now I need to start monitoring my credit cards more closely.

when putting a chip in a dog takes on a different meaning

If the groomer takes up that practice, I'll be unable to recognize my dogs. But they'll have a great time!

Just for you Randall. All photos less than 5 minutes old.

Godliness is a distant second to cleanliness!

My outside cat could be buds with that cat in the bottom picture. Or could have until he entered SuperSenior territory.

If you don't mind my asking, what does he charge you guys for rent?

I don't know what the hell that thing is, but I want one.

Tom wants her too! I should auction that dummy off. Merry Christmas!
