I've set myself another goal which will run for 1 year. Pool entries also available.

I'm back from a 6 month around-the-world trip during which I did not play a single hand of poker.
Time to get back to it but I need a goal.
Below is what I came up with. I'll try and rank as high as I can at this.
I also set it up as a pool so if anyone is interested, let me know.
I can maybe give out small Amazon gift certificates to anyone who can beat my entry.
Pool entry deadline would be December 1st and the start date will be November 1st.
Feel free to challenge me heads-up too. However, if your name is Benny Glaser, I'm waving the white flag right now!

Trying for my 22nd cash playing that awful NLH game ($5 New Year Series).
Rebuys are closed, 1595 get paid, 3700 left, I'm in 1062nd.

YAY! Cashed in the dreaded NLH.
Unfortunately, I have over 300K chips so I might be here for a while.

Now that I have my 22nd cash, here are my total $ cashed and rank per game.

BSOP results now complete

Murilo Figueredo cashes the BSOP Dealer's Choice to move up to 11th

The ladies standings:

Karen Adams: 7 BARGE cashes

Karla Bazan: 8 BSOP cashes

added today's PokerStars results
Frederico Volpe moves into 3rd

And don't forget the draft that almost nobody wanted to play. We only got 1/2 an entry so I gave away a bunch of entries to charity.
Wikipedia is looking good now with both Tobias Leknes & Murilo Figueredo drafted.

added more results from Los Angeles
added the Christmas Cup from Sydney
added PokerStars Wednesday results
Now 53,752 players in this contest. As far as I know, I'm still the only one who knows that they are!

added PokerStars Thursday results + the latest results from BARGE
BARGEer Keith Troell moves up to 2nd
BARGE live tournaments (as EMBARGO) go Feb 1-3 at Resorts World Las Vegas
That is quickly followed by another set of Orleans non-holdem tournaments starting Feb 5th
I'd better book my flight + hotel

Linda Kinhult finishes 6th in the $215 Stud8 to move into 5th on the Ladies List

added PokerStars Friday results
standings didn't change much so I'll list the top 100 of NLO8 instead
NLO8 is quite interesting because it's extremely popular online but casinos refuse to allow it (why?)
Safe to say the Top 100 in this game will always be online players

In live play news, the amazing Alan Engel is at it again.
While a lot of players are wasting their time at the PokerGo studios in Vegas, Alan is in Atlantic City to play the Borgata Winter Open.
And he's already cashed in event #1. His 11th cash. He seems to have a knack of following the qualifying tournaments for this competition.
Just happenstance? Sure, but we like to think he's actively going after this title.

added Saturday's Pokerstars results
Chrucx2 and Murilo Figueredo move up to 2nd & 3rd
I figured they must have cashed in yesterday's NL Draw but they have advanced this far without NL Draw

Murilo Figueredo

Added the Sunday PokerStars results but not much of a change since it was almost all NLH & PLO.

Notes:

Allen Kessler has been found: Durant WSOP Circuit event (that doesn't qualify). Meanwhile Alan Engel is in Atlantic City for the Borgata Winter Series (which does qualify).

Chowaha World Championship goes February 2nd at EMBARGO (Resorts World, Las Vegas). This will trigger a change to the 35 qualifying games: Chowaha will join Soko as an "other games" category. All subsequent oddball games will be added to this category. It will join Open Face Chinese in the "OTHER" column of the leaderboard.

Tournaments that are mixed games but do not state which games are in the mix will be scored the same as other mixed games of the same name. Example: a "Big Bet Mix" without any other info will be scored as MIX6 because the WSOP Big Bet mixed game has 6 games.

Mixed games with more than one of the same game (example: 4 card Omaha & 5 card Omaha) will be scored as if those 2 were just 1 game.

Just a reminder: here the the currently running and upcoming qualifying live tournaments.
Also, PokerStars has the New Year series still running (it's 2-7 Triple Day Day today) plus the daily BARGE tournaments.
I'm booked for Vegas to play the EMBARGO (February 1-3 not yet on HM) and a few at the Orleans.

And we're off in the $33 2-7 Triple Draw New Year series. Still at starting stack after 30 minutes.
BTW, nobody is playing high: 123 entries, no bust outs.

We got a guy who joined our table playing high!
I took about 1/2 his chips on the 1st hand. However, I was outdrawn on the 2nd hand so the guy next to me got almost the entire 25K.
I was under starting stack most of this hour but won a few right near the break to get up to 33K (25K starting stack).

Yikes!
Ran it up to 92K (18th place) and then the wheels came off. Lost every hand to go out in 94th.
Finished with pairing on 3 straight 3rd draws.

I don't think I've cashed in anything in 2024 except BARGE (for just token amounts).
I'd better get going or I'll soon lose my 1st place spot.

Finally got the December results from Black Hawk, Colorado. That didn't change much.
Here are all the players with 26 or more cashes. Lex Veldhuis (playing from New Zealand) with 42 is very impressive.

another day, another bunch of PokerStars results
we're not getting any info from Atlantic City or Seoul yet except that Alan Engel has cashed in Atlantic City event #1
Combined the 2 Bernardo Dias - HM has 2 but I believe they are the same player as bedias on PokerStars

the "new" Bernardo Dias - same as the "old" Bernardo Dias

BTW, Allen Kessler needs to get out of Durant: he's now in 99th and risks leaving the Top 100 unless he gets back to some qualifying tournaments

added today's PokerStars results plus tournament #1 from Atlantic City

# of players in this competion: 64,864 - # of players who realize they're playing in this competition: 1
I thought I'd lead this all the way until they caught me right near the end.......
However, Murilo Figueredo is almost there already! He's only 0.5667 of a percent point behind me.
I had better cash in that chowaha tournament in Vegas on February 2nd.

Alan Engel finally gets credit for that Atlantic City cash: he moves from #11 to #10.
Benny Glaser ties for 1st in the $1K 8-game. He moves from out of the Top 100 to 44th.
Watch out for Benny. I predicted he'd win this thing and I think when the dust settles he'll be on top. Or maybe it'll be me???
An epic battle is shaping up now.

News out of Korea: Ruiko Mamiya has won the stud tournament. Ruiko already has 3 cashes from Las Vegas including one for HORSE.

More news from Korea: Old-timer Naoya Kihara is still around. Here he is winning the 3-game Triple Draw. They say this is already his 3rd win of the series.
