I've set myself another goal which will run for 1 year. Pool entries also available.
I'm back from a 6 month around-the-world trip during which I did not play a single hand of poker.
Time to get back to it but I need a goal.
Below is what I came up with. I'll try and rank as high as I can at this.
I also set it up as a pool so if anyone is interested, let me know.
I can maybe give out small Amazon gift certificates to anyone who can beat my entry.
Pool entry deadline would be December 1st and the start date will be November 1st.
Feel free to challenge me heads-up too. However, if your name is Benny Glaser, I'm waving the white flag right now!

THE FINE PRINT FOR THE POOL:
"country/state"
The USA is broken down into it's 50 states plus District Of Columbia.
UK is broken down into England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland
UK will be the correct country if the player is from the UK but we cannot determine where in the UK
USA will be the correct country if the player is from the USA but we cannot determine where in the USA
What is a country?: PokerStars/HM/WSOP get to decide
Which country:
PokerStars will decide this if the player is PokerStars only
Otherwise, we use (in this order) WSOP place of birth, HM place of birth, HM residence, WSOP residence
Geographic area:
Wikipedia will determine which country/state is in which geographic area
Which games:
Any live series that starts between Novomber 1st 2023 and October 31st 2024 and has at least 1 non-flop tournament.
Online (PokerStars) tournaments TBD (stay tuned) (the SCOOP, WCOOP, Micro Millions of course qualify but we'll add weeklies too).
Daily, recurring, satellites, restricted entry (except for age and/or sex restrictions), group entry tournaments will not count.
Scoring:
game ranking: most $ earned in payouts (high score wins)
Entries (if we get enough interest):
I will not look at anyone else's entry until I post mine.
You can enter any time up until the end of November.
You can enter at any time but you can make changes right up to December 1st.
Badugi:
Badugi ain't poker! However, if it's in a mixed game we'll count it as one.
Hidden players:
Any player who hides their results from HM will stay hidden.
updated women's standings, 2 new additions
Ruiko Mamiya - 3 Las Vegas cashes but Stud win in Seoul not included yet
Aylar Lie - 6 Las Vegas cashes - pretty good for a "celebrity" player - too bad they are all NLH
3 bullets at the $22 RAZZ and no cash - I'm still 0 for the year on regular PokerStars - only BARGE cashes
Today's PokerStars New Year tournament features a 2-game mix which is not a regularly scheduled tournament. A big step up for those who cash.
another day, another dozen PokerStars New Year tournaments
the online players are really taking over the Top 100 as the live results are very slow to come in
Seth Webber AKA soumi7
Yipee!
I was 0 fer 2024 (except for BARGE) going into this morning and I played the 2 courchevel (PLO8 & NLO).
Cashed in both. I'm now 2 fer 2024. Only $5 and $6 but I think that was my first NLO cash so I should be breathing easier in 1st after this.
That's better. A solid 3%+ lead over Murilo Figueredo.
I think one of my BARGE cashes was in Stud high (which I hadn't cashed in before). Plus there was this morning's NLO cash.
Still waiting for live results. We have tournies going on in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Atlantic City & Seoul but only a sprinkling of results.
BTW: the LAPC started yesterday. That runs right through February and into March!
Back down to earth: fail in the $22 Stud8.
My table was a veritable Murderer's Row! 3 from the Top 10: Chrucx2, LucasMarcano & MayoWayo. Not a weak spot anywhere.
And now on first break of $11 FL27.
9 entered, 7 left, I'm in 2nd
Don't know any of these players.
BTW, $200 guarantee with just $99 in the pot. Come on down!
What a rollercoaster: 2nd after break and then I get no cards so I must use 4 bullets.
I'm being blinded off when I win 2 hands in a row and move from last to 2nd.
Play conservative after that and slide into 3rd place for $43.90.
Net result: I lost a dime!
Can't shake that Murilo Figueredo - he cashed in the Short Deck yesterday to move up a closer 2nd
News from the EPT - EPT Paris will not qualify - all flop games.
Live updates from HM are way behind - the Top 100 are almost all online players
Seoul had an 11 game mix - we only go as high was 10 game so the 11 game will be added to "other"
Here's what I have done so far.
As you can see, my totals are very small. If anyone catches me, I'm toast.
What I have to do is ensure nobody catches me. I still have HORSE, NL27, PLD, FLH & PLH available to play.
And let's not forget Chowaha on February 2nd in Vegas - see you there!
And here are the numbers for 2nd place holder Murilo Figueredo.
Much better numbers but not as many games with cashes.
HM was working hard overnight. Lots of live results added.
Unfortunately, Alan Engel did not follow up his cash at Borgata #1 with any other cashes.
Now over 200,000 results for over 70,000 individual players.
Of the 70,000 playing in this competition, only 1 realizes it!
If you are one of the 70,000 and you are trying to catch me: let me know.
I was curious to see why Talal Shakerchi wasn't in the Top 100.
I see his name all the time in the results (24 cashes).
He's 175th. Here's his results:
Ladies standings update.
There was a ladies tournament yesterday on PokerStars. How to they tell the men from the women when it's online?
Georgina James continues to surprise.
At the last update she was 75th with 5 cashes.
Now 49th with 8 cashes.
Most of these updates aren't of interest to too many.
This one is even more so: the rankings of BARGE members.
Kathy Chang: didn't know she was a BARGEer
Thankfully, the PokerStars New Year series is over. A lot less work for me.
Almost all these updates were NLH so not much changed.
Talal Shakerchi finally makes the Top 100 at #81.
No sooner has PokerStars completed their New Year series than they start another one. More 1000s of NLH results.
A few live tournies also added including Shirley Rosario cashing in HORSE at Sacremento plus event #1 of the LAPC.
Not much has changed so here is a list of the players who have cashed 30 or more times and cashed in something other than NLH.
and how are things going in the draft?
remember, only top 10 get paid
right now, Wikipedia would receive a donation of $200 - nobody else in the Top 10 was picked
Cash #35. Played one of those NLH donkaments (NewYear on PokerStars) and finished 753rd for $11.
That brings my NLH total to $26. Will it get me into the top 50,000????
Many more live results in from Florida.
The usual batch from PokerStars.
My 35th cash got me into the top 50,000 in NLH. I'm in 46,884th place.
More updates both live + online.
Alan/Allen news:
Alan Engel (last seen in Atlantic City) has resurfaced in Sacramento where he cashed (his 12th) in a NLH tournament.
Allen Kessler has tweeted that he has arrived in Florida to play the mixed games.
Here's the Ladies ranking. Shirley Rosario has cashed for the 4th time (FLO8) and Angela Jordison has cashed for the 2nd time (2-game mix).
Angela Jordison
Spent endless hours playing this morning's $1 8-game. Finished 4th for $13.
I guess any little bit helps.
Now we know why Benny Glaser hasn't been playing any more of those New Year tournaments on PokerStars.
His name has just been posted as surviving Day 1A at the Lucky Hearts Main Event in Florida.
tldr ffs man why u do this
nothing much happening here
online players still in charge
