1/3 Grinding and Bankroll

Wrapped up at 5/5/25 plo winning AKQ95ds on K979T versus the fun player multiway, was getting tired so I wrapped up the session and booked a $1,350 win for the day, most from 5/5 and mix. Spending some time with family this weekend, seeing the pups is nice as well. Overall played well yesterday, got pretty unlucky with AAKJTds in 3! pot spr just over 1 on 962r one bdnfd at 1/2 plo, I went with it facing a donk jam but probably could have let it go.

Voted and then headed to mgm, this is a crucial election, perhaps the most important ever in recent history that may determine the fate of our constitutional democracy and the basic freedoms it protects from tyranny. So vote, damnit!

So far running meh, at a good 5/T though.

Left for plo where it started good then ran into nuts plus better fd from blind hand in a 3! pot at 2 spr versus my worse fd nut gutter and top pair plus overpair. Then got A7543ds in pre for a little gamble and QQ lost to JT953. The epic run continues…!

Started to lose my cool and tried to attack perceived weakness, potted non-nut wrap ott on J964r versus turn probe and got jammed on by nut wrap + overpair. Then lost AAds double nfd versus bottom set and called it a night down around $3k. Had a sharp pain in my upper back all day and it got worse when I swallowed, sat at a bad angle this morning when I woke up. Oh the joys of aging.

Aren't you only 37? LOL. I do hope you are feeling better, though.

True, but I am pretty sure I would not have gotten this pain say 5 years ago. Anyway it feels at least a little better today after a good night's sleep.

all losers last night. I guess that's what I get for playing too many hands? This game used to be so easy...! Oh how I miss those days. At least I have my mental health, family, friends, and the doggos. And lattes and sun. 😀

For all the setbacks the past few weeks, I am still having my best year ever and that's a big deal. "You're doing really well."

Broke about even at everything, jumped in 5/5 towards the end of my session and lost some pots like KKTT9ss JT987ss until won a nice pot with AAK97ss three ways all in pre for me and scooped the main pot, loser of main pot but winner of side pot slow rolled the loser of all the pots and he quit, and at this point the game was no good so I quit too. Won around $3k on the day, a much-needed boost to the confidence and morale.

Installed black out shades in my room per friend's suggestion, they are great.

Started strong today, winning bottom set j fd against top set nut straight and hitting quads, then running well at 20/40 mix making A5432r in Badacey. Lost wrap and fd to set and nfd and KQ876ds to AA. Then lost AA in a 3! pot. But won TT992 in 3! pot to top two. Up a little on the day.

Got a table change and made a good comeback after being up stuck at plo, won around $2,800 on the day. AAQT9ds held in 3! pot, nut wrap got there multiway and held, other nuts held too. It was a remarkable change of pace. Enjoying this upward momentum. I can feel my confidence changing and I am finding ways to fight for every pot. Got dinner with a friend then won a little more but game wasn't really good so left for 2/5 where I got AA busted by J9 on A78Tss for $500, I am glad I wasn't deeper. Left to work out on rower and push ups and arrive again fresh and not tiled from the gutshot, hopefully for some 10/10/50 play before it breaks. The grind goes on. Great to be on the upswing again, not keeping tabs but probably winning well this month. I am not looking at my app results until the end of the year.

Played stand up at 5/T, won with a set but lost the second round, left for limit hold em and o8 where I missed my pair and nut low draw and value cut myself with two pair one hand that cost me $300. Still learning hi lo. Back at plo when they called me for it, winning decently. Colluding couple tag teamed me in a pot he called with AQJT2ccccc she had ?? and I lost with top set second nfd to his runner runner broadway and she mucked out of turn when all in on the river and he jammed. For there to be any showdown for the main pot I had to call and the price was $225 into $1300 so the pot odds were extremely good as well. Real bummer to lose this way to them. I called them out for playing together and got the usual personal attacks on my mental fitness and legal acumen, they said I’m lonely no family no dogs take pills etc., jump off a bridge, typical blame the victim stuff. At least I’m an ethical person. Stacked her twice afterwards too. Winning around $3.5k on the day including $4.6k at plo. gonna call it a night soon and rest.

If my husband and I are in a hand together, we always show at the end, even though the people who play with us know we don't collude. It just feels right to show. Glad you stacked her!

Running bad so far 99 at 1/3 lost to 52cc on 7538cc, then lost AAKKcc to worse draws on T92cc and nut straight to nfd all in ott, flush hit river. Getting unlucky but playing Well.

Left for 20/40 mix where quickly lost a lot in the Omaha round with T987ds with wrap and pair to overpair open ender and fd, also lost QT99ss versus ep open ep 3! in the bb. Decided to gamble versus two tight opening and 3! ranges. My bad luck at plo probably got me a little upset and affected my play in the mixed game. At least I made a 5/6 on Badacey. But lost with an 86542 in 2-7TD against a three card draw (to be fair I was also drawing three though).

Just lost AKQQ3ds in 4! pot to action players’s overpair and gutter too. Jeez.

Getting wrecked today, getting it in good and getting unlucky runouts over and over again against the gamblers. Set versus gutshot, top two versus middle and bottom, top pair versus middle pair backdoor wheel. AKQJ6 AKJT9 AKQQ3 all losers getting it in good.

At least won a little at 5/5/25 where a really great player who has played high stakes with some legends asked me for advice on a hand which I was honored to give. (With a plug for my coaching of course!)

Lost track of what I am stuck but I want to work on not keeping track, I don’t think it’s helpful for my mental game. Just focus on making good decisions and don’t sweat the results as much. I don’t have to worry about every hundred dollars at this point anyway given my healthy life roll. Not worrying about how stuck I am lifts a weight off my shoulders while I play. I think my rowing has really improved my mental health already, I can feel the difference. My back / neck pain is almost gone too. Highly recommended for poker mental game too and outlook and not being as results oriented. I think I’ll hold off on tracking the br challenge for now for the same reasons.

Woke up a little later than usual because I spent some time this morning after I quit the game to sweat my good friend at ultimate texas hold 'em where he was earning tier credits and killing time, we chatted about stuff and bonded, was fun. Got a little less stuck with AAAK5ss versus maniac's KK pre, flopped my ace anyway, then doubled him up with my dsKK to his AJT82 and the whale who stacked me a couple times quit so I quit too.

No sun when I woke up today but I will try to get an earlier start tomorrow and get back on track. Lattes and rowing will have to do for now.

Lost last day of the month, they just got me, top set didn't hold twice, wrap mid pair overpair bdfd lost three ways in a 3! pot too, I took it with good humor. One hand I had KKJ44 in 3! pot versus 100% pfr fun player and K-high flop dd, he chased 2nd nut diamonds and gutter, KT356, I have 44 and he still tables Q974x for the nuts. I started laughing.

In one hand the colluder wife a/k/a voodoo btch claimed the fun player 3! squeezed to $100 after dropping one black chip (to call) closing the action when no one heard him, not even me, and I was sitting right next to him. She said well it was too late anyway because he already dropped the chip, so I asked why she mentioned anything if that was the case (and btw she was not in the hand), and then she went off on me, "you aren't a man that's why you go after a woman," "maybe he likes men," "you don't know who what kind of person he is," (to the fun player who spoke up), etc. Similar to the "he takes pills" comment she made the other night when I called out their tag teaming me in a hand. I just stayed silent. I have heard it all at the poker table and at this point I couldn't care less what someone like her has to say about me especially when she tries to weaponize sexuality and mental illness against me in an effort to shame me publicly. Sorry, that's not gonna work with me, I am proud of who I am and proud to have overcome many challenges in life to get to this point. I'm not going to ever be made to feel ashamed of who I am. And these attributes take real strength and character.

Pretty sure I won this month but not going to look at results. Sold a few more books too. Happy November! Lattes and rowing...music (cannons, bright lights), my mood is noticeably better after a few days of hitting the machine. Laughed off the losses, didn't engage with wife either. Gonna definitely keep it up.

Sipped a crown apple last night, was offered by a friend and a few of us enjoyed them together. Very nice taste …sipped one for a couple hours. Today going ok, lost top two to a set against fun player, lost mid set top set blocker to top set as well. But won KKT84ds 3! pot with top set, the draws missed. Was able to avoid the couple.

Feeling in a good mood, winning to start the month too despite a couple missteps.

Won an AAQ66ss at the end three ways on T8795 runout somehow, don't ask me how. Ended up winning a couple grand to start the month. Woke up late, but got sun in the morning, gonna do lattes (vanilla flavor now with oat milk), music (Dido, sand in my shoes remix), and light exercise. . . feeling a little sore . . . and then head out to grind.

Had a good chuckle with a fun player, his wife was standing behind him for a few minutes and I 5! to $685 with AKQQTds after a short stack jammed, he was in for $70 but folded, and she left. After the hand was over I won with top set, I asked if he would have won as there were baby straights possible, he said yeah. I said "your wife saved my butt, if she wasn't here you're definitely calling that $685." We laughed. He has offered me a sniff of his medicinal weed too, "is that medicinal weed to help work on your poker game?" I asked him one time. He laughed. Good times.

Had absolutely delicious home style braised tofu with veggies tonight, mushrooms bok choy carrots and snow peas, very savory and really hit the spot. Running ok, lost with a T high ds rundown to two AA but made a come back elsewhere.

There’s some discussion on really good players. I’d say they are the ones that put their opponents to the test often and know when to pull the trigger. Super aggro postflop, know preflop down pat. Can deviate from gto when warranted pre and post. Hard to read and range in a hand. Can mask the strength of their hand well and confuse their opponents. Know their equities well of course as well.

Ran mediocre, lost AKJT4ds to Q-high and dsKKT87 to QQ (both against same gambler for around $1,000 pre). Ended up winning $1,300 or so on the long session, but it felt like a letdown all things considered. At least I am winning relatively consistently again. Now for some much-deserved rest.

Early morning session started well before funnplayer quit and game broke, AAA87ds 4! pot won on Q98r flop somehow. Waiting for a hold em seat or action player will buy half my action in the mix, very juicy line up.

Thankfully the fun player quit before I could the mix play. Did make quads three times at plo today though, ended up around $1k before I left to take a nap and reset my schedule/wake up during daylight hours. On a little heater lately...!
