1/3 Grinding and Bankroll

Very happy training is over now, I can go back to work. I have a couple cases I’m already considering using my jury trial skills in. I already drafted a pretty catchy opening statement for a case where the hospital has kept my client locked up for nine months.

Poker was fine except I lost KK to AKo all in pre at 2/5. Otherwise won at plo and mix. Sunny day today, I’m enjoying the rays while drinking my latte and oat milk. Gonna exercise more now that I have more time from not commuting.

Had a good afternoon with the ex, saw my sister and her bf who stopped by too. Poker was uneventful. Was winning at 10/25 but then lost a few smaller pots and left for plo where nothing really happened either. Got 87643ds in versus AJ765 on J54 and lost, that was the biggest pot I played but it went to a fun player so I can’t be too mad.

Played a private 5/5 5/10 plo4 hold ‘em mix yesterday and it went really well. At the beginning my dsAAK5 got cracked by both players all in against me but then I won a big pot with AA in hold em in a 4! pot at spr 1.5 TT5r flop player donks jams with 88 and I call and hold for a $7.5k pot. He asks if we can do side bets every hand for $500 and I agree and we about break even there until the last few where he bumped up the stakes to $1, 500 a hand which I won. That was supposed to be the last one but he asks for one more as I was supposed to leave and I oblige, he jams K2o for $2, 500 pre just to win the side bet because high cards play preflop if there is no flop and I have to fold 78 and he wins the last one.

Ended up profiting over $11, 000 on the session mostly from playing and a little from side bets.

Had another winning session yesterday, mainly from plo. No memorable spots although I started the session rocky stuck a couple grand and ended up winning close to $3k. Towards the end of the session the dealer mucked my live hand within a few seconds after I raised because I took a few steps away to the mixed game table to grab my players card because they were going to give away my seat and called me over. Needless to say I was pretty annoyed.

Won again last night from plo, around $2k, easy rungood. Did not even have to get stuck first. Last big hand of the night fun player says his last hand to try to get unstuck (he’s about even now) and he ships KQJ on KQTcc over a jam and a raise, for $2, 000 into a $200 pot. He actually got the person who raised to fold top two and a flush draw. Insanity! I folded bottom set and would have scooped the side pot.

I got asked to do a jury trial at a max security hospital which I’m looking into. That will be fun! I asked if I could second chair the first one.

Good timing on the rungood for tax season because I maxed out my SEP IRA to get the maximum deduction. Booking a nice little win this month finally.

for me - if player mistake, give back half / give back last street or last bet. if dealer mistake, i would give back all. i forgot who was the one mentioned it to me, maybe Greg Kelley / Scott Abrams - "i want ur money at the table but i want it fair n square"

Session was very swingy but couldn’t pull off a win. Biggest loss was AKQT5ds in a 4! pot at .75 spr when I stacked off with top/top Q62 behind to KK and a flush draw, a marginal spot. Even got slowrolled in a small pot after that from this guy visitng from Texas. I asked why he did that for no reason and he started spewing nonsense and I just ignored him.

Made a come back after getting stacked twice and ended up profiting on the evening session somehow. I took the afternoon off of work after court and lost with fd sd to two pair and a wrap to two pair and oesd+fd, where I only had 15% three ways, a rare mistake for me.

Interesting on Abram’s quote. He’s very arrogant and condescending at the table.
At $80/$160 at B, he seems to find enjoyment in questioning his hand before he tables, when he knows it’s good.

For example, 2-7 TD, he draws 2,2 and 2 and then says “ssseeevvveeeennn????” Yeah of course , if someone check calls the river, a 7 is good 97.5% + of the time!

Last night I started rocky but made a good come back and ended up winning $2, 500 or so.

One guy angled and was forced to call a $400 bet and went off the rails. That was fun to watch. I’m organizing a 25/50 mix Sunday afternoon that I’m looking forward to. I will be sure to include my best games of course, lol.

Sick day at 1/2 and 10/10, won heaps.

Playing all night and day to reset my schedule now so I’m rested for my mix on Sunday. Haven’t done this in a long time.

Last one is just how annoying it is to get dealt mixed game hands in plo.

Slept a glorious 16 hours last night, it was delightful. Reset my sleep schedule too. Worked. Out. Perfectly. And I’m $22, 000 richer! (Lost some back during the day…not much happened over the course of those 9 hours believe it or not, what a weird game.)

Biggest pot played was AAK85ds l/rr 3! pot $1, 700 pre three ways flop 865ss my fd. Visiting player pots into me I ship $8, 000 he calls with straight and I instantly boat up on the turn and win (he runs it once). Played another against him later where I had a monster but I flatted to keep his bluffs in and the front door fd got there on the river I checked he potted $12, 000 and I make a reluctant fold figuring him for the nut flush. He showed three aces and the nut flush blocker and claimed he was bluffing.

My big bet mix went well today even though a couple people couldn’t make it. I ran well too and made $2, 300 or so. Also ran well at plo. 10/10 is running again for an out of towner but I probably won’t get to play. Plus I have to be up early for work.

I had a dream I was deciding whether a wilting flower should be committed, then it was a puppy. Then my sister was cross examining a vet and impeached him but he said it wasn’t a proper impeachment and I said she’d complete it by calling me as a witness. I had another dream about a current client by name too. I said to the person do you know he’s been committed for nine and a half months?

Wild one.

In the mix yesterday I made a couple good badugis for a change and won a capped pot in hold em with AJhh on A832hh versus AKo, made my flush both times. Made a 7/7 in Badacey and scooped too. In big o got 3/4 with KKJ43ds versus AA3 on 256 and made a set of 7s in hold em on K73KK runout lol, but he must have had A high because I still won. Small world coincidence, I got to chatting with this out of towner who joined the game and he’s a lawyer from St. Louis and good friends with the judge I clerked for in law school! Imagine the day I happen to run this game was the day he was in town and stopped by.

Yesterday won at plo again around $2k lost some at 2/5 and won a little at 20/40 mix. At mix this dealer insisted I pay time rake even though I was sitting out until the new game started as he claimed the seat was locked up. That’s not what we normally do in the game so the players kept saying I owe time just to mess with the dealer who had counted down my chips (that had not been bet) for a player a week ago even though he’s not supposed to.
Made a solid grand on the session.

Yesterday ran really well again beating AA with KQJ76ds and winning a three way $1, 200 pre pot with AAJT8ss. Lost QQJ97 to QJT52 in a big one too but still made over $4, 000 on the session. Was on phone with the bf while waiting for my dinner order and wanted to rail the big games for entertainment and got a couple nasty comments from the drunks playing there so I left.

Posting some big numbers this month, reminds me of how hot I ran two years ago when I was playing full time. Wasn’t sure it was even possible while working but here I am. Nice change of pace, last month was pretty tough.

Yesterday I took a half day at work to celebrate my bf’s bday and my swearing in, it was a beautiful day outside and we had Mexican for lunch and I bought him a white linen t shirt from a nice boutique. Poker was pretty slow and I made a little, mostly from 5/10. I lost a buy in at 1/3 b/b/j bluffing into a station in a dry side pot who called with AJ on AQ73Kccc (I had JcJs).

Broke about even last night, lost 2p to 2p at 2/5 and 76s v AA $400 pre (don’t ask…), lost TT to QQ co v sb 50 bb eff at 5/10/25 too. Made it all back at plo in my last session.

Had a wildly realistic dream I played a pot against colluder wife all in and she called for $3000 dry side pot. She tabled 8s full of Aces and I thought I lost, but then realized I had tens full of 8s (sorta knew), I table and she grabs my stack and runs off, I call security and we run after her downstairs to catch her before she leaves. Really good dream actually.

Ended up profiting around $5, 000, lost some back towards the end due to run bad and getting tired but called it a session at that point. Woke up earlier than expected and couldn’t get back to sleep.

Couple interesting hands: AA633ss dd four ways after we raise flop 983dd. We check first to act and it checks through unfortunately. Turn J. Checks to short stack who jams 1/2 pot folds to me I call and bb overcalls. River 9. I check bb bets $200 into $1, 000 with dry side pot I annoyingly call he has J9322ss.

Open AKKJ8ds flop QT8r both my bdfd. I bet 1/2 pot two callers. Turn 3c completing rainbow. Checks to short stack who jams 1/3 pot, sb c/r $500 I call. River 8. Sb checks I bet $1, 000 sb c/r $2, 500 I fold. This was against colluder wife who I had a dream about, a premonition perhaps?

Also lost AKQJ9 to AAKQ4ds. Still a really good day. Might be in record breaking monthly profit territory by now! Someone told me I was their favorite plo player yesterday too, that was nice. Another told me that I give action. 😀

Saw my parents and we walked by the cherry blossoms, which we did ten years ago around this time as well. Amazing what has happened in ten years. I did get a little emotional remembering where I was then and where I’ve come now, I’m not gonna lie.

At poker lost set to wrap (he hit and quit) but made a come back with AKT98ds made straight flush versus nf and ai pre KJJ87ds and 4! AAJ96ss and profited around $1, 500 on the session. Game was very good but I had to get to bed for work the next day. Got much better sleep than the night before last too.

Anyone wanna say hello? ItÂ’s been quiet on here for a while. Anyone think this thread needs to come to an end? I feel like itÂ’s getting sorta redundant now and thereÂ’s not much more progress I can make in pokee at this point in my ecosystem. Welcome any thoughts.
