Fish on a Heater -> Crushing 200z
Hi all, started playing poker back in June and gravitated towards zone (Ignition's fast fold/zoom tables). Has gone dece
Vulnerable overpairs like 88 really want to bet flop here. We obviously need to be selective with our betting range overall, but this is a slam dunk bet, IMO.
Agree, although I'd probably still range bet this board vs a more passive fish since their range is very weak and I never 3-bet bluff them.
I happened to have more informative showdowns for how this guy plays vs check, there were two hands they stabbed trash and one where they checked back TPTK. Knowing that it felt close between XR to fold out equity or XC to let them blast.
gl in your grind!
+$11230, 1.5k hands last Friday and 800 today
Checked river in a spot I was fairly certain bluffing was +EV, but it would've been obvious I'm way over bluffing to anyone paying attention
What I learned is I should use my whiteboard

gl man. I enjoyed the builderman podcast as well.
Are you using asianhandconverter? For me it has worked perfectly over like 4-5 different apps I've played on. My only gripe was that the HUD doesn't remember the positioning for players.

Just Hand2Note 4 since it's free, but I do like DriveHUD better if I ever play on Ignition. Reinstalled the app and it seems to be working well but I haven't played much.
Yes just from sign in bonuses

Didn't know these existed I thought it always gave a JSNG ticket which I'll never use

+$12000, German player on an app game asked to play HU and I obliged him
I've had money just sitting in a checking account for way too long so set up a Fidelity account
Will put some in the market, and since "nobody knows if a stock's going up, down, or ****ing sideways" 2p2 can decide
- under $400 a share
- 1 pick per person maybe 2
- I expect at least 0.5% daily returns

It missed a $1k pot I lost (3-way all-in pre AA vs TT and 44) so no clue what profit is at now

App game was playing pretty wild had my biggest pot won and lost. They can straddle and re-straddle any position or just blind shove
3k hands on Global breakeven, played a bit of Iggy but stopped before I lost the BR to bots, colluders, and CFP Brazilians

Had a hard time thinking of many folds vs fish so just check called flop and turn
Still time for stock picks

in reality just having a diversified portfolio with S&P 500, some classic blue chip stocks, and 10-20% risky investments like crypto is probably the smartest way to go rather than just randomly picking stocks
I agree. I'm pretty bullish on crypto, so if you wanted to invest in one of the new BTC etf's that could be good for the next 12 months or so. Otherwise something simple like S&P 500 etf is good.
I'm bullish on crypto as well, but it's still important to realize that anything with significant exposure to crypto is inherently a highly risky investment. I assume OP is investing his poker roll (which is smart), but it's important to be careful with your bankroll as short term market losses will decrease long term poker winnings especially if you are just coming up in poker. When I first made some decent money in poker I put 70% of it in BTC and it tanked, which meant I couldn't move up to 500nl for months until the market recovered.

All very true. Depends on what your age + goals are, your risk tolerance, your portfolio diversity, and if/when you might need to access that money and how liquid it is. If you are planning on potentially doing investments for <12 months or >12 months and planning for what the tax implications might be is also important.
Not great start to the month, missed the range shove as 4bp agg on a king river even though I knew I probably should
Haven't withdrawn from the BR since it's spread across so many sites. Seems smart to keep as little as possible though and have it in a high-yield savings account or similar
Not a very large % in stocks so don't mind a bit of extra risk but not gonna do short-term trades just for the tax implications
Sold all my crypto pretty recently, I don't really believe in timing markets but I got spooked when people I know started to talk about bitcoin

4k hands on Global mostly 200nl, +$30
Good to get stacked at higher stakes, didn't feel nervous at all in big pots today
Was calling river if I didn't hit

I looked at the GG and ACR bots and now think this was almost certainly a bot. They're very beatable but definitely crushing me if I play them like I do humans

KTs hand at the end seems like a flop fold, but it probably depends on how you split your preflop calls/3 bets. River seems spewy.

I didn't have a sample on them at the time so I assumed fish from their action. It's a spot where people play so unbalanced on turn/river I'll have a lot of +EV bluffs/bluff catches where I shouldn't
Pretty sure jam isn't the best river size
are you concerned with the supposed rampant cheating going on in the ecosystem?
The games on Global feel pretty safe to me, it's a very small ring-fenced pool and they've issued refunds recently. App games are inherently sketchy but I think it's hard for them to be more incompetent than most sites that accept US players, and with very small pools I think me, my agent, or security would realize fairly quick.
On Ignition we have proof of bots, colluders, and RTA but I haven't heard of anyone getting a refund so either they're keeping the money or they literally haven't banned anyone. I don't think I'll ever come back so no crushing 200z sadly.
It seems like players are doing a good job of self-policing especially at higher stakes so I'm not completely pessimistic, and we're already playing a game with a very significant barrier to winning (rake)

They're definitely better than Ignition but that's because Ignition stopped caring a while ago. I wouldn't call the games ''safe'' though.

They used to:(. Used to get responses when I was reporting people at 200nl and 500nl. Used to get refunds. That all stopped, games got worse, I quit Ignition.
