Mix game journey
Having had three years of experience in mix games ranging from getting raked to death at $4/8 to shot taking three times
ye, V was in till week 17 and lost bucs to miami. but heard he sold x% and im sure he also hedged. probably made like 500k who knows. idk sports betting.
hmm so 4 million for the nfl season, about 200k a week. just make sure you bet the right dogs @ 100k a pop haha.
ran bad at plo today, 2 outted by chad bleznick in the aria rock game but i only called on river second nut boat 😀
won $402. poker player. wakes up 3pm comes home 5am. 12 hour day gjgj.
played some paigow at aria while waiting for my friend - dealer had kk-aaxxx i had $50 on two spots and she accidentally mucked one hand.
i track myself as having lost $100 that hand instead of $50; any negative error against me counts against me and i dont count any positive error in my favor. better that way.
i have a cash game tomorrow at aria.
$3-$6 blinds w $15 ante NL single draw w $180 cap.
The games are 2-7, A-5, badugi, and flugie
ante: sb $6 bb $9
where in vegas is there uncapped 1-3 or 2-5 NLH?

It looks like poker pros dominanted this year's winners:
How does the invite game work for you?
Are you expected to say yes mostly in order to keep getting invited later on?
Do you have a sense of the lineup before you accept for a cash game table?
How do you think you're perceived as an invitee?

"invite games" arent as fancy imo - and a lot of games are indeed public w a self-organized starting list.
the only true invite games ive had - two sacramento home games one nl one plo i both rejected; one 10-25 big bet mix home game in vegas which i went to play one time that's it; venetian inagural 5-10 bigO stream which i met up w donkfish n ploprofessor but waited five hours till stream end n didnt get in; now this michael mizrachi nlh game.
in plo i can give action w a hand like 7532ss n still hv decent equity to win but in general i should be on the bottom of the list in anyone's invite list. im a nit; i dont do props; im fine w straddles but i dont have all these tricks to make ppl play loose since i dont myself.
This aria game is bit different.
Jason moved to vegas from san diego about a year ago and he's trying to establish a midstakes community and his ppl skill makes him a slamdunk for one of the best game organizers i ever dealt w. Plus he and I have an off-the-felt positive relationship - we've had financial dealings; we've gone out to eat; etc.
He brings in a lot of new players in @ 8-16; 12-24 but i dont really play in those games. Sometimes he has a 20-40 or something interesting like this single draw night i would participate and more often than not i'd get a start seating as i already dont play in his game a lot.
He really simply just has that personality to be a game runner - he did that while being a player in the game back in sam diego so hes had plenty experience.
Then comparing this to the venetian thing - never in a million years would i imagine to be invited by mizrachi to his public cash game. ppl hv sent me pics of him during Cong's 150mix but i have never been on the table w the grinder myself. So i turned him down i made it clear that once i come back from LA i am happy to be on the february stream.
i was asked to buy 50% of this kid's 600 300k gtd circuit event
i only bought 20%
he is deep in day 2 rn at planet hollywood
theres an overlay
first is only 50k so lame
but i wont say no to 10k plus some tax!
i misread first hand in 5card badugi thought i was dealt an eight dugi...and raised but didnt bluff in 3way
badugi
a-5
hi
flugie
2-7
everything is 5card
Appreciate your response ty.
Have enjoyed following along with the thread. What is flugie?
draw game - 4 card of the same suit, as low as possible.
you can still get dealt 5 cards like last night but goal is to have say Ah2h3h4h.
Any 4 card beats 3 card.
Example - I opened KcQcJc5cX and drew 1 and didn't improve so i had a 4 card king low; matt defended big blind and drew 2 to 2d7d8d and he didn't catch a diamond so he had 3 card 8. i won.
angry invited me to the Resorts World game because there are two very nice guys in the game
instead, I'm going to Green Valley Ranch to play something 50 times smaller...more like 30x
if this is not what being broke is like I don't know what is
jks
not the case
I am temporarily barred from Resorts World - I didn't bother to tell monnette last night, because I didn't want to open up for questions
checking out Green Valley Ranch today I think it's near Sunset Park
today is the seventh day of the new year - in the previous six days - do count the $400 I lost in the circuit event (still up for that day), I have had five winning days and one losing day - but the loss was medium small so the setback was manageable. Hopefully after today, It will be six wins versus one loss.
I am new to the mix game streets. Played at Resorts World for the mixed game festival in December. Any tips for learning mixed games strategy?

i am in no position to coach i just play my money however i see fit but obv i Am trying to win - trying to make some money.
the general tips for improving obviously is just to PLAY. and games are not hard to find - get one of the host's numbers and voila!
i think w more experience you get a feel on how you wanna play yourself; in other words what your own style would be - like, mine is clear as day since day 1, and i am aware that i am THE NIT wherever i go.
then you would run into hands and spots where you are unsure then you just have to talk to good players about it. whether you listen to them or not is your choice. i know a guy that insists on playing aces in drawmaha 2-7 multiway pots claiming if everyone is going for the low, he is getting half by playing the omaha hi. ok so be it.
today in fact i lost n then found kevin haney's number and we discussed in detail about an archie hand. then i called my gf - i told her, just like in poker where i can learn nothing from some convo w a bad player While i can learn A LOT discussing poker w Kevin; in romantic relationships, how can life be the same w anyone? you gotta be w the right ppl. prolly sounds better in chinese - 日子怎么可能跟谁过都一样
Anyway, talk to ppl, learn from whoever you deem to be strong. Lately there's a kid from Washington that kept blasting me on my nittiness and is sort of coaching me in every spot he can find, as a better player - no offense taken, it's absolutely amazing. I am learning how he adjusts vs different players and how he plays loose but knows exactly where he's at, etc. It's a joy to read his analysis.
Texas has 20, 30 and 50-100 afaik. AZ has up to 150/3. Hustler has 40/80, gardens 1/200. Local casinos everywhere in US, really.
If you wanna talk about the basic basics of mix games. Flop + Draw + Stud. Then all games are variations of these. However at times there comes up some absolute bonkers of game types - I don't even know how to begin to explain - now I would call those carnival as Kessler would call drawmaha carnival.

Thank you for the fast reply. I will check out RW this week. Have been playing on Phenom as of late just trying to get a better understanding of each of the game.

I like andrew but i haven't touched phenom in forever. gl. can't deny - the animation and layout is quite top notch. the site gets a lot of heat, esp recently after the new announcement regarding how token works - i am quite clueless about it all, can't wrap my head around.
How much you want win at poker this year?
annoying rock game at wynn but didnt lose all my profit on the day
7-1.
nickpup FTW
he told me when 2 tables left that he gon win and i was there when ft started n 3handed then till finished. good man. he had a tricky spot - herocall gone wrong - in planet hollywood $600 circuit but this wynn $600 he takes home the trophy!

there are a handful of guys like nick that i rly rly adore.
