Having had three years of experience in mix games ranging from getting raked to death at $4/8 to shot taking three times
stopped by the wynn yesterday to grab a charger n check out the 20 game. it was above average - i did see an interesting hand - in the game of Ari where spit card is ace.
1 - you are dealt A336x - i think if you do play you have to keep A33 n go for boat instead of A36 for a weak two wayer.
2 - An elder lady who i play w quite a big at 8/16 made a grave mistake; she had 234 and drew 2 and caught a 5 and kept firing in a multiway pot. In Ari, straights simply aren't that good - but more importantly she thought she had a low (in Ari spit card can only be used for high). She did river an 8 for 8-5 but her absolute hand strength is just a straight.
The other day in bell 80 in Ari I had trips and raised pre and bet flop n turn, Abrams kept drawing one and check called both streets in bb w 5 high straight. I checked back river and lost the high n neither of us had a low.
I'm so tired.

I may stop by @ venetian n join vegaspaulyc's stream at the high limit pits at 5pm. i'd love to bring 50k and whale it up on stream but given the recent 33k loss - i'll just bring 10k and bet $2-500 a hand. When you are losing, the anguish of losing $10k outweighs the joy of winning 10k. When you are winning, I feel indifferent swinging whichever way. I just see it as a scoring game instead of the absolute value of cold hard cash. but anyway, i love vegas.

100k is just massively under-rolled for such a big game; on top of it there is seven deuce game, squid game, etc.
I think the key is just not to rush things. It's fine if I pass up this opportunity, I did hear about two guys in the lineup that I would love to play with.

the weird situation at the 1k plo circuit event is that - there are 40 entrants w 6 ppl get paid; registration is open and they are down to 6 ppl already. So they are waiting for more entrants (?)

having a discussion w a good player on split pot games originating from me getting bashed for not value raising my #2-3 in badacey in a 3 way pot.
my start in mix in united states is o8 at stones. and in the game of o8 it emphasizes even more on the importance of scooping cuz there are so many hands you feel you can call all the way down for half - but in head up pot a hand like 246J (or 35TT (2+2 pun)) might hold more value then one may think.
anyway, a head up vs defending big blind, assuming standard bet call line
you lose: -3.5; you win: +3.75; you chop: +0.125
head up without players in the blind:
you lose: -3.5; you win: + 4.25; you chop: +0.375
near 4 bigbet value loss.
there is a good example in O8 online - let me see if i can find it.

The REAL reason i still have money is because I am an AP baccarat player. i make $2k a day.
Here's the strategy - i buy-in 10k and give up 2% edge w 10% betting unit and win 2k about 81.3% of the time (while the 0 ev odds should be 83.3%). if i lose 2k then i put up 50k and win back the 10k i just lost. if i lose 50k i put up 250k and go to a casino where i have higher limit and win 50k. if i lose 250k, well, it's fine, i bring 1.25 mill and bet 125k a hand to win back the 250k. so how likely would i lose my 1.25 mill? 0.187^4 = .12% which is in fact about twice better than straight up martingaling off 2k. I have not yet lost 1.56 million so i am running good 😀
