Ty @goodjunk21. This will prob b the last year for the thread. I think I know when it’s time to exit, and it feels that way. I hv found this 1/3nl challenge is hard to stay ahead of life. We barely breaking even each month in poker profit/life expenses. Cd b a slow bleed. We hovering 17k, but I don’t see a way to build. Unless we move up. But again, we only hv 17k. Finish
I mean it’s your thread so you can do what you want but I feel like that would be a sad ending to your story. Think about how it’s looking right now: started off as a humble grinder building it up. Ran it up big with some good investments. Lost it all doubling down. Then the story ends after one more year of grinding barely making it? I would think knowing your competitive spirit, that wouldn’t be a story you’d be happy with.
I think we need one final trip up the mountain once the roll is rebuilt

i don't think that's how it happened
nobody was saying you couldn't do it, they were asking why you were doing it, ie you were posting about fainting and stuff like that - something you never really had clear reasons for other than "i want to do it"
you also gained it all back immediately, which many posters said would happen because you weren't changing anything long term, just taking a brief starvation diet, so it's not even like you really wanted it, otherwise you would have made efforts to stay at that weight

HavenÂ’t paid for any electric outside of road trips in 2 years. HavenÂ’t had 1 issue. Wd never go back. ItÂ’s everything u can do w an iPhone in ur car. Plus it can drive itself. Like that I can watch utubes videos tik toks Netflix movies Hulu tv play games w remote controllers, browse web, Spotify etc when boss lady is in Target. The Acceleration and Megaphone to yell at people, or concert. The No maintenance. It all makes driving fun.

Rest of what u said is untrue. Therefore; many posters were wrong. 154.3 gained 8 back because I had nothing to prove to my mind anymore. I stil bet even money at 130 lol
Hero, how have you not paid for electricity for the car (outside of road trips?) for 2 years? I know there are charging stations at the casino, but where else are you going that has free charging?

Dude was a millionaire. All he had to do was invest most of it to make $70 K/year passively, easily. He could've spent the rest of the year playing poker part time and made $100 k/no prob.
Yet, he wants a participation trophy because he's "semi-retired"?
He has an overabundance of unearned confidence.
In fact, he has have not gained any wealth since he sold the melody!

idk man enjoy reading the blog but honestly think you should just get a job. what does treading water until the end of the year actually do for you?
doing nothing for the next 40 years or whatever fantasy you have about retirement / semi retirement isn't really a great life anyways. i mean look at all the side quests you've given yourself this year out of boredom / avoidance (pickleball, weight loss, running, day trader, low stakes grinder, probably others).
the irony about the whole "semi-retired" thing BS keeps trying to maintain is that it is actively hampering him from actually retiring. sure, he's 45ish right now and semi-retired and that sounds cool and all, but when he's 65/70/75/80 and still semi-retired because he never was able to save any money for retirement, it's going to kind of suck.
technically if he just kept ENPH even with the downturn would still be sitting on about $13M

Remember calling my Dad when it doubled from .80 cents to $1.60. Asked him if I shd cash out and pay off my house, or let it run. I was a big believer in Enphase and wanted to let it run. He advised paying off mortgage if it was him. We paid off the house. Sigh

Got some big risks planned for next year. Something in the works. Gonna make it or break it time.
Poker is my job and it’s working. I can wake up everyday play tennis in the morning, poker in afternoon, grill poolside in the evenings. It’s just like being #FULLYRETIRED.

What’s ironic is I play w retired folks all the time. The whole irony is them dumping their retirement to me. Irony irony irony that they choose to play poker as entertainment when they retire. The irony of when u retire u will prob play more poker.
