In the current news climate we see that some figures and events tend to dominate the front-pages heavily. Still, there are important, interesting or just plain weird things happening out there and a group of people can find these better than one.
I thought I would test with a thread for linking general news articles about "other news" and discussion. Perhaps it goes into the abyss that is page 2 and beyond, but it is worth a try.
Some guidelines:
- Try to find the "clean link", so that links to the news site directly and not a social media site. Avoid "amp-links" (google).
- Write some cliff notes on what it is about, especially if it is a video.
- It's not an excuse to make outlandish claims via proxy or link extremist content.
- If it's an editorial or opinion piece, it is polite to mark it as such.
- Note the language if it is not in English.
- There is no demand that such things be posted here, if you think a piece merits its own thread, then make one.
UPDATE: Hurricane Milton is now a Category 5 Hurricane and is rapidly intensifying to be one of the biggest and strongest in history.
It's extremely rare for storms to form in the Gulf of Mexico this late in the season, and now we have 2 in a row, with this new one being stronger and more powerful.
Do NOT try to ride this storm out if you're in it's path!!
HELENE UPDATE: Over 1,000 bodies have already been recovered due to the first hurricane according to the ones on the ground who are putting them in body bags (they're not saying this in the MSM). There's a video of a H60 Military Blackhawk helicopter hovering over a recovery distribution center and destroying it with the wake from his rotor blades. I'm not even gonna post it because it's a very sad thing to see. The survivors are literally being kicked while they're down. (I looked it up on the ADS-B radar history, he disabled his transponder prior to coming into the area, his reg was blocked and just said "n/a" like they did on the the P8 that destroyed the pipeline that I showed you all a while back, he only showed a callsign of R9426587). Even Elon Musk's starlink system was confiscated by FEMA when his engineers arrived there to install it and let everyone use it for free. It was only released back to him after he went public and Donald Trump started talking about it. FEMA is a DS army (they're actually armed pretty well too). Even though on TV they say they're there helping, the people on the ground haven't seen them and they're in desperate need.
This new hurricane has shown unprecedented strengthening over the past 12 hours that no one's seen before, especially this late in the season.
Pray for Tampa and Florida!

The Republican governors sure seem like they are ok with the FEMA assistance! In fact they probably want even more aid.
If we did nothing for Republicans they would still bitch and moan about it, that’s all they know how to do. Hence why they were getting angry when they thought only Democratic parts of the state were getting aid.
Also not everyone from a Republican district is insane, so we shouldn’t make the minority pay for the insanity of the majority.
I live about 20 minutes outside of Tampa (inland, thankfully) and it's currently looking like we'll be directly in the path of Milton. Our family just moved here a few months ago, been an eventful first hurricane season so far. We were supposed to leave for vacation tomorrow afternoon, which looks like it would have been well in advance of the storm's arrival, but the Tampa airport announced that it will be closed at 9am tomorrow so no vacation for us. Hopefully the power stays on.

Weather warfare is 100% real. I'm pretty sure there are actual patents filed which are public. I don't know if it was used in FL or not, but when you look at these things happening to red states it's a lilttle suspect and there is now a second hurricane coming into the same area. One is nothing, two's a fluke, but if we see 3 of them or somehting else happening to a red state ("wild" fire, Earthquake, flooding rains, toxifying train crash, or anything) it wouldn't be such a coincedence anymore.

I assumed it was recent but that doesn't change the fact that it's real.
Try to find something scientific to dispute something about the phenomenon instead of always rebutting things by saying "That wasn't today, that was last year" or "You spelled this wrong" and "you spelled that wrong".
I can assure you, I'm not the one misleading you, but you're definitely being mislead on more fronts than one.

Ok. What are you suggesting? That someone is secretly controlling the weather for nefarious reasons? There are patents for thermonuclear bombs, I'm sure. That doesn't mean that someone is currently actively planning on detonating one. I'm not sure what the existence of a patent is supposed to demonstrate.

people file patents all the time that never materialize to anything. all a patent has to follow is the guidelines for a patent, it doesn’t actually have to correspond to anything in real life.

This is a news thread, so just use your intuition regarding who's doing it and why.

The outer edge of this storm is being targeted with powerful microwave or laser energy to superheat the outer portion which generates strong descending CLOCKWISE vortices. Superheated descending air is generated around the storm, on-demand, by space-based satellite transmitters. When the storm is targeted in two or three areas around its periphery with this technique, counterclockwise rotation then develops, as we see in the satellite loop. Hurricane Helene was jump-started in this same way.
