Exactly! Blacks and females got their jobs because of racist DEI practices! Maybe not aaaalll of them... but in positions like air traffic controller or high level government roles what is more likely: a black person and/or female was qualified? Or it was DEI?
Only after we fill these positions with white men who we know are good for the job will we have ended racial discrimination in this country.

you are not looking at this from the proper perspective
if everything was "we've historically been biased against hiring and promoting these people so we're going to try harder to give them the opportunities in situations where we don't have an obvious candidate for the the position and there are multiple equally qualified applicants" then literally nobody but disgusting hateful people would have issues with it
the reality of the situation is far different and there's good reason why it's incredibly unpopular
"we have 100 employees, right now 85 are white men, we've been mandated to have 50 percent of our employees to be women and people of color by 2025 and the only way to ensure this happens is to exclusively hire women and people of color for every new opening going forward despite that we're in a white male dominated field and 80% of all applicants are white males"
so they've definitely shown a preference for white males with the 85% over a more natural 80% and need to do some correcting but by going full gonzo with 50% they are then basically excluding all white males for any future openings despite that they make up the majority of the applicant pool and as a result are often the best candidates for the position
