I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

These answers are disqualifying for the value of any of your opinions on this topic. Yikes.

Thanks for the attempted participation though.

1. There is no indication that MSNBC firef due to racism. It's possible, but this image provides no evidence.

2. The issue with my image was 100% of the non-white males in that role were fired and 0% of the white males were fired. That is not indicated in your image at all. You had to selectively choose how to include in the screenshot to make it appear that way

Oh cool. A video no is going to watch.

What do Republicans think about "Gold Card"

Hey, capitalism

Ro I have no idea what your definition of ideology is but it’s clear trumpism is the idea that ‘America is for Americans and Americans only’ and that edict and definition is defined by MAGA supporters. To the best of my knowledge non-Americans are defined as:

1. Vaguely defined ‘woke’
2. Immigrants
3. Minorities
4. Libtards (probably redundant to 1.)

It seems to come down to assimilate or be destroyed, or in the cases of the ‘non-Americans’ who bent the knee, assimilate and maybe be destroyed anyway

Is it crazy to think that we could sell citizenship at $5 million a pop to 7 million people and clear the debt? And an added benefit of this would be adding such a high number of high value people would have second order benefits to the American economy.

Hard to imagine there isn't 7 million persons in the world that wouldn't be willing to do this. And even if the number is significantly smaller than 7 million, you could still put a serious dent in the debt.

I don't think it would be anywhere near that many. There are 4 million people in China worth over $1.7m (6 million yuan) according to the internet. Only 74k households worth over $30m. And China is the country with the second highest number of millionaires. Japan is 5th, South Korea is 10th on that list and I don't see many Euros paying a lot for US citizenship. I'm not sure many Japanese would be so keen on it either.

If you had that sort of money then a US citizenship either won't hold that much value OR you could already get one a lot cheaper.

You'd probably have to make it like $150-200k before it's going to become a decently attractive proposition to the wealthy.

we do sell it for much cheaper than that

anyone who invest 1 million in the usa gets an investment green card

if they are investing in an area of preference the threshold drops to 800k

there's a number of financial services companies that operate strictly as "give us the money and we'll fill out your paperwork for you"

which is honestly something i've long considered getting involved in

I don't hate the idea but luckbox kinda hit the nail on the head that anyone with 5 million to blow could probably get in cheaper or would have no need to become a citizen.

You have to wonder if its only criminals who would even be interested

and yeah, 7 million people coughing up 5$ million is kinda crazy scale

Trump is sporting a pretty obvious IV hematoma lately.

Don't think it's a sign of any particularly fateful outcomes you might have in mind. But I certainly understand the sentiment.

I don't think that there is a public miconception on this point.

I mean, many of the main focuses of the FBI have little implication on politics, no? I was under the impression that the FBI handles serial killers, interstate crime, federal crime, organized crime, and lots of other things. Again, I could be wrong about that.

Like any large organization, the FBI has finite resources so it has to prioritize. And those priorities come from the top. I'm less concerned about an existing plan to weaponize the FBI for specific political goals and more concerned about the general problem of having two MAGA idiots at the head of the agency.

I'm sure that Luciom will pop in here in a minute and tell us that the job of agency heads is to carry out the whims of the president without regard for the integrity or reputation of the agency. But government actually works better when agency heads actually feel some urge not to bring their agencies into disrepute.

Fair criticism. It’s just a hope, it may be purely irrational. They can definitely do a lot of damage.

Fair enough. Like most of what Trump says and does, not much there it appears. And FWIW, I was thinking more of "shady" millionaires from places like Russia, Africa and the ME more than places like Japan and Europe; where I agree there probably wouldn't be much interest in buying US citizenship.

The white house press secretary said the bruise was from shaking so many people's hands. Even if true, that seems like it would still be a sign of something abnormal. Or do a lot of old people have easily bruised hands?
I have no idea.

Looks like his liver.

I’m saying he’s for low growth policies like the ones you describe based on ideology. That why we had such slow growth in his first term.

Subsidizing outdated technology to make it profitable when the market has selected against it leads to low growth. Again why growth was so poor under Trump.

I assume your whole post is trolling.

If you think the things I mentioned aren’t pro economic growth I’d hate to see what policies you think are pro growth.

Growth wasn’t slow under trump unless you are including Covid which is silly - especially considering how he fought dems for pro growth policies during that time and I don’t think there is anyone who has ran for president the last 20 years who would have done better for economic growth post Covid than trump. Also, as I’ve said quite a few times economic policies aren’t a light switch as it takes years to feel the full effects of policies.

that hand photo is another reminder that i'm colorblind because i literally can't see any bruising

Look at those hands, are they small hands?

And, he referred to my hands – ‘if they’re small, something else must be small.’ I guarantee you there’s no problem. I guarantee.

The white house press secretary is one of the last people on Earth I'd trust even in a different administration.

Old people's hands do bruise easily and that looks exactly like the bruising an old person gets from an IV.

Yes they are full fledged liars. KJP was so good at it I thought Trump should keep her for his administration.

This Leavitt lady is just an exceptionally unlikable individual. Every time she opens her mouth she just oozes frustrated contempt to everyone shes speaking towards. Condescending, relentless, and all around unpleasant.

I can't decide if shes perfect for this administration or if people are going to be frothing for her head in 2 months
