The "LOLCANADA" thread...again

The "LOLCANADA" thread...again

So what's new?

I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet

Nah Americans can tell in the way we talk .
Though I call BS on the tipping CDNs are great tippers

Reminds me of a time I was in Vegas playing BJ and a guy asks if anyone can spare a cigarette and another guy a CDN offered him one . The dealer goes you can always tell who the CDN is he is offering a cigarette and pays a ton for them while the Americans hide their pack

some can i mean people in toronto talk different then north bay. they can usually identify an accent but they can't pinpoint it. accents are as much city to city as they are cross border

Canadians are notoriously poor tippers in the Buffalo area

ya i mean were pretty poor coming over. were already paying a 30% tax i can see why some wouldn't want to add another 20%

This is awesome. I had no idea dumb and dumber III was in production. Don’t worry losern, you will find a part.

Canadians actively choosing to vacation in America while we are in a trade war are huge losers and have less Principals why would you expect them to be average to above average tippers? its actually logical. There's way better options. my friends tried to get me to go to buffalo for a mediocre event. ahh hell no

You want to continue the argument with me? Are you cast as Lloyd or Harry?

Canadians really do have an obsession with what Americans think. A full page of posts because a random guy says Canadians are poor tippers lol.

People argue on an Internet forum and Shifty uses it to build his Canada bashing case as usual

Ya, the biggest argument on the internet right now is "are Canadians bad tippers", just saw it trending on X. There's just so much fake data and AI on the topic, plus personal experience. I think it should be discussed further, how are we supposed to enjoy Easter weekend if there are people out there that think Canadians are bad tippers. I've lost sleep over it that's for sure.

How can I argue with you. you don't even have one

Glad to see you are enjoying your Easter weekend fecklessly trying to dunk on other people on a dead internet forum for the sin of....responding to other posters posting stupid ****. You're definitely rising above and all that.

Yup, very big topic on conservative podcasts as well.

It's funny you watch our media now and their take is with the cost of gas rising everything's going to cost more and we may see this impact inflation which is true
Yet carbon tax increases gas as we but has little to no affect on prices or inflation

They are so in the pocket of the liberal party

Lozen there has been precisely zero point where you've managed to correctly describe a single thing correctly about the carbon tax. There isn't anything "funny". Nobody denied that taxing something increases it's price - that was precisely the point. BUT IT WAS REBATED. So the net effect is very different from if it was just increasing prices, which is what is happening now. And further, while prices did increase, it was a lot less dramatic than the doom and gloomers claimed such that when they removed all of the years of YoY increases in carbon tax all in one quarter, it made only a pretty small, one time, drop in inflation. All of those ridiculous exaggerations by Poilievre and you turned out to be more or less a dud - the tax came off and it made only a small one time dent.

So no, there is no media conspiracy theory that you were smart enough to suss out. You just couldn't follow the arguments.

British people do as well. Ironically both countries are falling apart.

by uke_master

This sounds like a you problem. Canadians are not generally known as the type to stiff people on things like tips when travelling internationally. If anything it's the opposite with Canadians trying to overtip in Europe and Europeans being confused why they are doing this. But I suspect if you go into an interaction "knowing i'm about to get stiffed" that's the kind of thing pe

The worst tippers are

1) Canadians
2) Indians(India)
2) women
3) Young minorities

Ask anybody in the service industry and they will tell you the same.

I just assumed tipping wasn’t a thing in Canada.

do you even live in a border state or do you get your info from x

Irony is saying what you just said being a supporter of Trump who is not only speed running the ruin of the world but also that of the USA.

Somehow I'm not surprised you're a server.

at least you two can find common ground in being mad at the "indians(India)"?

Good one teach.

It is ironic. Also 4th straight year of increases for Canadians emigrating. 55% of them being aged 25-49 (peak earning years) and more doctors, scientists and engineers leaving at twice the rate of low income earners. At the point we are a failed country.

Great, I assume youll be next then?

by GooseHinson

Great, I assume youll be next then?

Not an argument.

Didn't we just have this whole argument that there was unsustainably way too many people in Canada and this was going to drive up housing and unemployment etc etc? And like specifically the most likely group to immigrate is recent PRs, but you all were just telling me they should be forced to leave after doing their education here.

I had no idea me asking why Canadians are such bad tippers would turn into one of the biggest arguments on the internet.

Bad tippers argument probably started by elon/trump admin to make American hospitality workers feel not so bad about business/revenue being way down with no Canadians showing up. As mentioned may have to do with only the worst Canadians still going and they probably dont tip well for various reasons.

Well it looks like the Liberals gun buy back program has hit major hurdles
Expected cost 2 billion , provinces not onboard or police associations. Experts say it will have no effect on gun violence .
Add in the fact they are not getting the participation they want either

I'm surprised Carney has not dumped one of the few remaining Trudeau policies
