The whole purpose of transactivism is -- or rather was, because it has failed -- to eliminate women as a sex class and thereby eliminate their human rights, replacing 'sex' with the made-up notion of 'gender' and permitting men to intrude on women's sports, spaces, privacy and dignity. And the case that broke transactivism in the US was the Lia Thomas case, because Americans have this thing about sports (and a lot of them have young daughters) and that's what woke them up to the craziness that was going on.

The biggest threat to women is always men. While relatively few men may be an actual threat to women's safety, all men, if they intrude into women's spaces, are a threat to women's privacy and dignity. And it does not matter how those men 'identify', because that is only a noumenon, a thing of the mind (and often faked for advantage, as in the cases of certain notorious criminals) rather than a phenomenon, a thing of external, observable, empirical reality. Fortunately, in the UK, the Supreme Court (in the case of For Women Scotland v The Scottish Ministers) has clarified that sex is defined by biology and all that activist stuff is pretty much toast. There are still some over-committed people trying to turn back the judicial tide, but basically they can't.

I view the transgender in sports “movement” as an attempt to allow a marginalized group of teens a place to fit in during high school as a means to give them all the benefits that sport and team participation provides. Sports has generally broken down many barriers before the rest of society. However, the fatal missteps made were that they tried to force the involvement based solely on the choice of the transgender athlete and allowing transgender athletes to participate in female sports is viewed by most people as winning by “punching down” (which goes against the basic tenet of sports). IMO, sports is segmented by age, weight and sex in efforts to provide fair competition at each level. Athletes have historically been allowed to move up in classifications of competition but not down. I.e., freshman can play senior level sports but seniors canÂ’t play freshman level sports. In just about every instance, transgender males competing against females provides them an advantage creating higher risks of injury and unfair competition.
The insurgence of right wing morons claiming their should be no transgender medical care and trying to outlaw it are just a bunch of bigots that feel they have the right to interject into the rights of a patient and their parents to make medical choices with their doctor. Claiming, they are doing it for the good of the children, they offer nothing but prohibitions on getting medical care because they ultimately believe trangenderism is a phenomenon, not a medical issue. A the right wing politicians have hyped the issue, blowing it completely out of proportion, because it satisfies the outrage culture against the Democrats.
Lia Thomas was a Division One scholarship for 2-3 years and competitive with the top third of the them before she transitioned. Undervaluing the time, commitment and talent to achieve this is undervalued by those that only look at her beating Riley Gaines out of fifth place at the NCAA finals as an accomplishment.
