In the current news climate we see that some figures and events tend to dominate the front-pages heavily. Still, there a
i honestly would prefer if we went back to requiring you to be a land owner with some kind of stipulations allowing some flexibility for renters to participate i know it's not much of an issue because these groups don't vote much to begin with, but i wouldn't want a world where the homeless drug addicts in seattle formed as a cohesive voting bloc as they'd be a large enough of
Maybe pandering to them would lead to a solution to get them off the streets.
A homeless drug addict voting bloc couldn't elect a worse president than trump.
TIL, as someone who hasn't owned a house(or land) since 2007, I should need special stipulations to be able to vote. What. The. ****?
Oh, the humanity! What on earth will we do?
A shutdown for the Department of Homeland Security at end of day Friday appears certain as lawmakers in the House and Senate were set to leave Washington for a 10-day break and negotiations with the White House over Democrats’ demands for new restrictions have stalled.
Perhaps we could give one vote per house/apartment owned?
1 vote per person who pays over $x in income tax.
The number of votes everyone has should also be a function of how many people they employ.

Disenfranchising on-land owners doesn't seem right, but neither does giving them the same rights a property tax payers. Having renter's votes count as 3/5 of a normal vote is a fair compromise.
of course the people whose opinions are unpopular always seem to be the ones who want to restrict the franchise. funny how that works.
This is a very modern response. With an apparently straight face, you say that poor people shouldn't be allowed to vote. When the predictable objections follow, you seem to shift into "not sure if serious" mode. You preserve optionality, and the rest of us shrug and conclude that we haven't necessarily learned anything about what you actually think.
Lots of pure gold in this article. I really don't know what is more ridiculous -- Lewandowski and Noem having what appears to be an open affair, notorious germphobe and ace detective Donald Trump concluding that they must be having an affair because they drank from the same soda can, or Lewandowski firing a Coast Guard pilot for forgetting Noem's special blankie, only to rehire the pilot after he realized that he needed the pilot to fly the plane to the next destination.
While the Journal reported that Lewandowski “spends time at the house,” multiple sources inside and close to the administration tell The Post it’s understood that Lewandowski lives with Noem — “if living means spending nights regularly,” as one source put it.
Lewandowski apparently is not shy about referring to Noem in intimate terms, as another source recalled him speaking last year about the need to find apparel for the secretary that would flatter a woman with, in Lewandowski’s words, “big tits.”
Several sources say the president knows about the affair between Noem and Lewandowski, with one person close to Trump saying he “frequently” tells a story about seeing the two take sips from the same can of soda.
“You can’t do that, it’s pretty obvious! You can’t do that, everyone’s going to know!” the germophobic president is quoted as mockingly saying as he entertains listeners with the account.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Noem had to switch planes during an official trip due to a maintenance issue, but her blanket was not moved to the replacement aircraft.
Lewandowski fired the pilot and told them to find a commercial flight home when they reached their destination, only to reinstate them due to the lack of a backup.
I didn't say I wasn't planning to vote. But if only landowners and/or rich folks were allowed to vote, then you're right I wouldn't voice my politics here as much.
Also, kind of a weird point to make on your part considering there are folks posting here who aren't even U.S. citizens so obviously they can't vote either.
Anyhoo, y'all have a grateful weekend! See y'all next week!!
