While your liberals and majority might accept climate change, they sacrifice it politically at pretty much every junction. A major US government website supporting public education on climate science looks likely to be shuttered after almost all of its staff were fired, the Guardian has learned.
Climate.gov, the gateway website for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (Noaa)’s Climate Program Office, will imminently no longer publish new content, according to multiple former staff responsible for the site’s content whose contracts were recently terminated.
“We were an extremely well-trusted source for climate information, misinformation and disinformation because we actually, legitimately would answer misinformation questions,” said the contractor. “We’d answer reader emails and try to combat disinformation on social media.
“We get attacked on social media by people who don’t believe in climate change, and that’s increased over the last six months or so as well.”

It provides user controls and I've selected two options.
1) Ocean currents (highlighting the gulfstream / AMOC)
2) Change in ocean temperature vs 1990's average
You can see that some areas of the ocean are getting warmer and some are getting colder.
The colors are as follows
Blue - much colder than historical average
Purple - colder than average
Red - warmer than average
Yellow - much warmer than average
You can see the blue colder water beginning in the north of Greenland and hugging the right side of the land all the way down to the US east coast. Currents in the N Hemisphere obey traffic rules just like on roads. They stay to the right as a result of the Earth's spin. In the S Hemisphere they go left. This is called the Coriolis effect.
You see the predominant northward current (AMOC) is being forced further away from the US coast and is not making it as far north as it used to.
The gulfstream is like a vacuum cleaner which sucks water off the US East and Gulf Coasts. When it weakens, the water starts to pile up. That's why sea level is rising faster than other parts of the world.
It has risen 6" along most of S Florida in the last 15 years. If it rises another foot in the next 15 years, it may wipe out a lot of the beaches and pollute Florida's fresh water acquifers with salt water as it pushes through the limestone.
Will local buildings be under water ? No !! Not unless a hurricane with significant storm surge hits your neighborhood.
But what happens to the financial value when the future becomes commonly known ? What happens when the beaches disappear and the sand can no longer be replaced because it's disappearing all over the world ?
The homes will become uninsurable. There will be no mortgages available. The property tax base will be destroyed. Municipalities will go bankrupt. Essential government services will not be able to be maintained. There will be chaos. The government isn't going to help you. Trump is gutting FEMA as we speak.
There is another factor which is looming .... the 18.6 year tidal cycles will be amplifying the high tides to the maximum in about 8-9 years. They are currently at the minimum.

I understand what you are trying to say, but it is important to note that by engaging in climate change denial and shuttering organizations like this, they are in fact losing.
There is no winning in welcoming and encouraging a catastrophe.
Lol Florida and all, but those with sufficiently high IQs to not be resource drains on society should move to certain regions of Italy that will be much more comfortable.

Thankfully the White House Office of Science and Technology has issued a guidance to federal agencies to implement "Gold Standard Science" as per Trump's "Restoring Gold Standard Science" executive order.
This will allow political appointees to properly discipline researchers and scientific staff who opine contrary to the political will of the executive branch. So instead of listening to useless Nobel laureates, you get the supposed will of a president who suggested building a Mexico-United States border wall... in Colorado.

edit: It should be releasing the CO2 quite slowly, so in the order of hundreds or thousands of years if the CO2 doubling were to happen. What other effects will it have or what does it say about the future of AMOC I don't know

Very soon people will have to find other way to fight and go full resistance style.
Otherwise Trump will just either fire everyone and replace them with fanatics, or just not replace them at all and gut it all.
