Neither can illegal immigrants, at least by the current administration.

Brother, there is a post like 10 posts up showing where 7 million ICE detainees have been deported in the last 3 years

It probably doesn't occur to him. He's also the reason why Canada's health care system is so strained: doctors, nurses and other medical professionals leveraging relatively cheap education to escape low salaries and insanely high taxes and live off our tit. And now he takes his smug Canadian sensibilities and spouts off like he knows better when he's here.

I say keep the Mexicans, and deport every last one these ****ing Canadians. I've never met one I liked.

lol ….
U.S. got like 10x the population of Canada .

How come they couldn’t find one American to fill out the job then ?
Yup your education system seem to suck badly or just bad workers …

Ps: all countries got some problems in healthcare .
Even the US… and by far !

Witnessing the aftermath is not witnessing the shooting.

But shrapnel grazing your ear is taking a bullet for democracy.

That tweet is showing numbers of immigrants that were released back into Mexico. A cursory glance at the ICE report (the source for the tweet) would show you that you are being blatantly lied to by people who assume you are a stupid ****ing idiot and would never check their work. Are they right?

You are totally incorrect of course, but the point that you are completely missing is that these people shouldn't be entering the country in the first place.

More than 13,000 immigrants convicted of homicide — either in the United States or abroad — are living freely in the U.S., outside of Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention, according to data ICE provided to Congress earlier this week.

The immigrants are part of ICE’s “non-detained” docket, meaning the agency has some information on the immigrants and they have pending immigration cases in the U.S., but they are not currently in detention either because they are not prioritized for detention or because ICE cannot find them.

McALLEN, Texas (Border Report) — The head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement told a Texas border lawmaker this week that 435,000 undocumented migrants with criminal convictions have been released by the agency to cities around the United States.

The NYT's "The Daily" podcast today makes the case that NAFTA is what lead to the political landscape we have today, moving Democrats away from their core labor support in the rustbelt, with Republicans stepping in to take over.

haven't listen to it yet , but going in I think both the role of NAFTA and the loss of rust belt labor are both overstated. Democrats losing rust belt labor is completely explained by their losses among non college educated white men in general. The fact that they even get something like half of white teamsters is pretty impressive, given they are probably below 20% in that demo removing the fact that they're union. The flip side I'm sure they are crushing with teachers more than before. But not for any teacher specific thing they've done.

This whole interview is Elon levels of weird

This move by Elon is an obvious ploy to evade the law, albeit a clever ploy.

It is against the law in the United States to pay people to register to vote. Elon's PAC is offering $47 to anyone who successfully gets one registered voter to sign a petition in support of the First and Second Amendments. The inclusion of the Second Amendment of course guarantees that signers will skew conservative. You can't get the money unless the signer is a registered voter. So the game is to pay cousin Jim to get conservative uncle Bob to register because you can't pay uncle Bob directly. That would be illegal. And there of course is no way to prevent cousin Jim from splitting the money with uncle Bob.

It's enough to get some people to do something that requires very little time.

Elon Musk: The Purpose Of No Voter ID Is To Conduct Fraud In Elections

Title 42 was the worst thing to happen to immigration, and it was a Trump policy. That’s why the border problem got so bad starting under Trump and continuing until they discontinued the policy.

Wonder why trump tried to steal GA, which had voter id laws. A moderate republican genuinely concerned about election security (if they exist) must be livid at Trump’s election fraud because so many normal people are just going to assume all republicans claims about elections are lies or efforts to steal elections.

Lol Sure bud

The border was way worse under Trump.

Do you guys even believe the nonsense you write?

I didn’t say the border was way worse under Trump, although it was worse under Trump than under Biden. I said title 42 is a bad policy because you can’t attach punishments to people who are apprehended.

It does seem like there is evidence that title 42 just opened the flood gates

Some other interesting stats

Sure looks like an unprecedented "US Immigration Crisis"!!1!

Stop lying bud.

Illegal border crossings soared in the months after Biden took office and rolled back many Trump-era restrictions. Biden warned that he would still enforce immigration laws, and he temporarily kept in place a Trump pandemic policy known as Title 42 that allowed authorities to quickly expel border crossers.

Once his administration announced it would not use the Title 42 policy to turn back unaccompanied minors who arrived without a parent or guardian, their numbers spiked. Images of migrant children and teens packed shoulder-to-shoulder in detention facilities produced the administration’s first border emergency. Soon after, Biden assigned Harris to lead a new effort to address the “root causes” of Central American emigration, including the economic, political and safety issues that spur people to flee.

Teens and children crossing without their parents arrived in record numbers during the first three years of Biden’s presidency. Families and single adults have crossed at historic rates as well.

Brian,

If there is anything I could do that would convince you to leave this forum forever, please let know. If the request is reasonable, I'll certainly consider it. I say this mainly because you are truly awful at discussing politics.
