yes if criticism of something (in this case someone cheerleading genocide) is met with a a defiant ingroup signifier (in this case circumcision) and insult (in this case the act of fellatio) then I am going to assume that person is part of that group.

People to the very left of the democratic party can still think that if the dems are too bad for them anyway trump isn't so much worse so they don't care much about either of them winning (hating both) but they want future democrat candidates to move a lot toward their positions (left) to have a chance to win.

It can be rationale. Can be wrong as well depending on details and assumptions but especially if you are young you can well think that Trump winning instead of Biden isn't a big deal (if you think Biden is "too rightwing") if it increases the chances of (say) AOC being president in 2040 or something like that.

Ofc the main point is that there are people polar opposite to that. Centrists already tolerating Biden only because republicans have Trump, that already think Biden is too much too the left for their tastes, and which won't tolerate dramatic moves left.
