Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa

Over 30 years ago I wrote a paper (which was never published) called, "Origin of the Specious." In it, I discussed the origin of Evolutionism and how it predated Darwin by over 2,000 years.
Darwin didn’t invent evolution dude, he discovered it.
Fun Factoid:
Charles Darwin's college degree was in Theology.
Natural Selection is real.
But even within natural selection, cats have kittens and dogs have puppies.
What is also real is that we are made in the Image of God, which gives us a moral compass.
So obviously you don't think it's fine for people to die of COVID even thought you accept that natural selection is real. Obviously that kind of misanthropy is a non-sequitur.
I hate this kind of thinking (not only on this topic but overall). It's not enough to not "mean to" do something. Most of the time there are things you need to "mean not to" do. In other words, actively try to not have something happen. "I didn't mean to drive my car into those people in the crosswalk but I was checking my messages" is not a good excuse. Actions have consequences.

I think folks dying of COVID is terrible. However, within Evolution Philosophy (which I obviously reject) folks dying of COVID isn't inherently problematic.
So do the folks who accept mainstream science on evolution, so whatever you were implying is rather dishonest.
I never said folks who accept mainstream science are happy with folks dying of COVID.
I specifically said (maybe in another thread) that most folks do have compassion for others: the reason being that we all are made in the Image of God and thereby have a conscience.

you are conflating social darwinism with considering the theory of evolution correct to explain what happens.
it's the social darwinists who won't find it particularly problematic if the weak and frail die.

That's a fair point.
Having said that, Social Darwinism is a natural (so-to-speak) consequence of Evolution Philosophy.

It means men are men and woman are woman and that's all there is to it. Checkmate.

No one before Darwin and Wallace had worked out the mechanism, that is, the common descent of all organisms and the practical favouring of random mutations.

Not bad. Not quite Sense and Sensibilia by JL Austin but I hope the book I never wrote had such a good title.
