My dad was so physically violent with me as a child, a little girl, that the police came to our house more than once. Realizing he would be dangerous around my daughter as well was the breaking point. If you want to call that politics, go ahead because I don’t care. It took years of therapy to finally go no contact and I’m happy every day that I did.

That's horrible what happened to you as a child. I'm glad at least that your daughter lives in the safe environment that you didn't have.

Like you with [strike]Jews[/strike] Israelis eh?

I go along with reputable polls that show an insatiable appetite for genocide in Gaza. How about you corporal? I guess you find it empowering.

So you saw something in a poll and that's your excuse for your raging anti Semitism? πŸ˜†

by jalfrezi m

I agree with him, and you are a deeply racist person. In fairness your definition of racism is limited to people using the N word and verbally abusing others because of their skin colour. Making sweeping negative generalisations about people from other places isn't racism, according to you.

Would it be considered racist to make sweeping positive generalizations about people from other places?

As you know, the polls were of Israeli people which include 20% Arabs. So you can stick your silly trolls and keep on stanning for war criminals.

I kinda doubt that the phrasing of the "reputable poll" was, "Do you support genocide in Gaza?"

by natediggity m

the line is probably not as long as you imagine, or hope it to be

Turns out the line isn't so short after all. Still going. I find it comical that rickroll liked that post of yours, meaning he probably agreed with one of the two things you said in it. Then he got in line behind you to tell me how dumb I am for cutting off my parents without knowing a damn thing about the situation, and also didn't read that I had already explained why I would spend effort correct BJ's public disinformation in the previous post, which you got called out for, too. So I wonder which part of it he agreed with. Oh, probably just liked that some other poster was trying to "put me in my place."

You guys are just such predictable idiots.

But the poll was reputable!

And this was just a summary of the last time I went in public. It's awful every time and I'd obviously put up with it for years. I was the one trying to make an effort with them for the last actual decade+. They didn't really want anything to do with me either since I didn't stay home on the farm like they wanted. But the usual clowns are lining up here to take potshots because

I wouldn't sweat the comments. Soul reading familial situations and then giving advice based on those soul reads is another real strength of 2+2 posters.

Oh I don't sweat them. I'm just correcting the record and calling out the a-holes.

What do we disagree on, just curious. I mean, a lot, for sure, but what specifically are you referring to here?

Every man has his breaking point

Oh nevermind, you weren't being serious.

This is how it usually goes.

When people cut contact with formerly close family it is usually for serious and grave reasons. Those reasons might not always be stated, but not everyone is keen on offering up every detail about their life.

From comments in this thread, you'd think there was an avalanche of unfairly abandoned parents. I very much doubt that is the case. I suspect most such cases is simply people not being close to begin with, and most of the rest is cases like yours (or worse). I'm pretty sure there are more unhealthily maintained relationships with parents than there unhealthily abandoned relationships with parents.

Now, if social conservatives want to talk about how society is more and more organized in a manner that keeps relatives apart even when they are close, I think there could be an interesting debate. However, it is not a debate where political conservationism sees eye to eye with social conservatism, as the former has discovered a lot of newfound hatred of policies that would give people the higher wages, more spare time and more resources needed to maintain a broader family network.

by rickroll m

i'm sure there's more to it but it's super sad and depressing whenever you come across people who do things like "i'm never inviting my parents over for xmas again because they wanted to carve the turkey" and "my dad wouldn't get vaxxed so i cut him out of my life" or in this case "they are trumpers so f them"

Her dad was physically abusive, you absolute ****wit.

yet you refuse to negatively categorize a population which has an infibulation rate of 99% and called racism doing so when I did.

why?

only if they are white

by geezerchess m

I kinda doubt that the phrasing of the "reputable poll" was, "Do you support genocide in Gaza?"

they asked if they supported forcible deportation of people out of Gaza, and most said yes.

according to some silly definition of genocide decided by leftists that is genocide

you could look it up and decide for yourself. you might be surprised!

its insane. I mean, you could just not talk politics with your family. or just bond over your shared love of murdering Muslims? like I am pretty sure your families are split between people who voted for Bush to murder kids in Iraq versus people who voted for Kamala to murder kids in Palestine. find the common ground guys.

Victor still going on about Kamala despite everything showing how horrible a decision that was for his single issue is hilarious to me.

I’m pretty sure Victor doesn’t get invited to family reunions anymore

If that was the actual question, then that is not supporting genocide imo.

Im pretty sure forcibly moving millions of people, stealing all of their wealth and property, and murdering untold amounts in the process is indeed genocide.

but luckily for both of us, we dont even need to discuss that scenario bc there are other questions in the poll!

Thanks for sharing this.

Looks like 47% supported genocide. That's horrendous.

(Assuming it's a reliable poll.)

Thank you for being honest.

Surprised you missed the poll the first time it was posted, showing what a moral desert Israel is.

Hamas support in Gaza is around there if not higher.

And supporting Hamas is obviously far worse than supporting genociding a group of people where 60% of people want to genocide you could ever be.

Like one could actually think that supporting a genocide of people who majoritarily want to genocide you isn't even bad at all.

by geezerchess m

That was the question that got 80%+ support

Both of my parents are wildly racist and hateful Trumpers. You couldn't pay me to ever talk to them again.

that's all the information anyone had to base anything on, nothing else, that's not a snippet, that's the post in its entirety

you just love playing the victim
