Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
First of all, Plan B does not cause abortion, plan B prevents implantation in the uterus. It concerns me that you bring that up because it signals a very fundamental ignorance and lack of education on this topic.
If your position is that abortion is murder but some murders are fine, and that some human life holds little to no value, then you are the extremist in this convo, not anyone else.

Nice points scoring. Abortion pills instead of Plan B. Thanks for the clarification.
I didn’t say abortion is murder. Are you under the impression that all deaths that you cause are murders? If I kill someone that’s trying to kill me, did I not cause their death? Is that murder?

I understand that to you, and many men like you, this is nothing more than “scoring points” and you are limited to that narrow lens.
To women, however, this is a matter of our right to bodily autonomy. So I don’t really care about scoring points, especially with someone I don’t respect or think capable of complex thought. I care about mitigating the harm people like you do in the public sphere with your ignorant loud opinions and general inability to know when you’re not the expert in the room.
You don’t even know what Plan B is.
How many abortions have you had? How many miscarriages? How many children have you grown in your body?
Men like you need to learn your place on topics like this. You’re nothing but a dangerous dilettante with enough arrogance to think your voice should have a say.
I'll be honest, of all the posters here I understand your hate for each other the least
I think the final straw was 8 months ago when they were looking to bring me on because people like Luciom were making the mods lives hell and he managed to last this long probably because I basically reset his grievances to try and be as fair as possible
It wasn’t problems with posters like Luciom that brought you on; it was problems with posters who made the mod thread a living hell anytime a mod tried to do something about posters like Luciom. They are the same people now posting #freeluciom in this thread. The ****ing whiners and contrarians are the biggest problem with this forum. They cause the most headaches and require the most action.
We do need a villain round here though. Maybe Dunyain will step up to the plate. Big shoes to fill.

You thought that intentional killing means murder. You thought that apparently abortion does not result in death for the fetus every time (that’s literally what an abortion is). You thought that that an unfertilized egg is apparently the same as a fertilized egg.
You’ve made all sorts of technical errors in the philosophy throughout this conversation. That I mixed up Plan B and abortion pills isn’t nearly as big of an error as you mixing up intentionally causing someone’s death and murder.
That you thought it was some kind of dunk to say that “omg you think abortion is killing and so you think it’s murder and yet you think it’s good so you think murder is good” is one of the most absurd arguments I’ve read on this forum.
Then to accuse me of not being able to have complex thoughts after making such a blunder is honestly hilarious.
I care about sentient life. I also care about bodily autonomy. We have to balance both of those issues when we think about abortion. Bodily autonomy is never an absolute right in society, I don’t know why we would think that it is.
I wouldn’t even disagree with you that there are many men that don’t care about the issue except that they want to be able to control women’s bodies. I don’t think that’s the vast majority, but it certainly seems plausible given that they don’t even support making contraception accessible to people, or sex education, or Plan B, or early abortion pills, or abortions in the first trimester when the fetus is too undeveloped to even have rudimentary feelings.
I’m not sure that it makes a difference that I mixed up Plan B and abortion pills, but it makes a huge difference that you don’t want to acknowledge any sort of value to the primitive identity that is forming in the womb of a human child. That you can reduce anyone’s conviction in this issue to misogyny is absurd.
Nearly 1/3 of women actually identify as pro-life themselves. Does their pro-life position suddenly get justified because they are women? If not, why does this argument even matter except as a way of using rhetoric?
Furthermore, I just want to note that 90%+ of abortions happen in the first trimester. So I think 90% of abortions are completely moral and should be considered as healthcare and paid for. I’m not an anti-abortion extremist.
Anyway, I should not have gone back on what I said, you can reply if you like to this but I’m not going to entertain further replies with someone who makes such an egregious error as thinking that causing the death of something is the same as murdering something. We’re just not even speaking the same language at that point. You want to smear me as thinking murder is justified (which is literally a contradiction anyway, not sure if you know that).
Crossnerd arguing technicalities with someone who basically agrees with her is an interesting strategy.
These aren’t technicalities- these definitions are being used to enact laws. When you say things like “every abortion involves a death”, that is not arguing a technicality; that’s arguing the fundamentals and the foundation upon which our autonomy is being stripped from us.
Correct, the dictionary definition of murder is defined as the premeditated killing of one human being by another. So yes I thought that and still do if we’re using English words according to their definitions.
Bodily autonomy is never an absolute right in society, I don’t know why we would think that it is.
Yes, it is. It is in fact the most basic and vital of all our human rights.
acknowledge any sort of value to the primitive identity that is forming in the womb of a human child
….
So I think 90% of abortions are completely moral
The above two statements/beliefs are fundamentally incompatible with one another. This is what you’re not getting.
And of course I’m not going to acknowledge any value to a clump of cells, because I don’t believe it’s a human being and I don’t believe it can be “killed”. That’s what consistent beliefs look like.
If I did believe that an embryo was a human child, like you do, then in no way would I consider it moral to cause its death. That’s pretty psychopathic iyam…

At which point do you think the mass of cells becomes alive?

No it’s cause you don’t apply the rules equally though I do agree Lucian used up his 9 lives
I guess I can’t upload videos but walking by this moose was one of the dumber things I e done in years
Apparently moose attacks are on the rise and often due to off leash dogs. Once it started coming towards us I let out a loud "Hey!" and whether that scared it off enough idk. I don't think I was ever in actual danger as there were numerous trees to duck behind and I'm pretty sure I'm more nimble than a moose...not positive but decently sure.
There was a large rise in Elk attacks in Estes Park this year because people just haphazardly approach them and sometimes they have babies around
Very grateful that in those instances the authorities have the clarity of mind to blame the dumbasses for approaching wild animals and don't just put them down

We get that with bears here in the national parks in Alberta and BC especially with the Asian tourists they literally try and stand next to them

You don't want to be anywhere near an angry moose. I don't care if you're Simone Biles.
